Has anyone used the Atkin Advantage? I got the Dark chocolate Royale today because I am travelling this week and next which are my last two weeks so I needed something easily accessible so I didn't want to grab something I'm not suppose to ea. The doctor said I have to have at minimum 60 g of Protein a day from shakes alone. These have 15. The Protein Powder I got from the doctor was called Chike, it's not the best tasting but I am wondering if the Atkins are okay instead. They only have 2 g carbs and 1 g sugar.

    Surgery on my Birthday!

My birthday is March 28th and my surgery is March 29th. B-day present!!!
  3. My insurance improved my surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago and I went to Dr. for pre-op visit a week and half ago and they are suppose to call me Monday with my surgery date. They had me start my pre-op diet week and half ago at pre-op visit. They are projecting a surgery date the week of 3/15 or 3/22 so that is essentially 4 weeks on the pre-op diet and I have to tell you I thought at first I wouldn't be able to do this for four weeks!!! Tell me you had success on the pre-op diet and it was worth it. And tell me if you cheated during the pre-op... Encouragement please :cursing:

    Spring into March 2010 Bandsters

March 29th...found out today! It's a day after my birthday, what a gift to myself!
  5. Finally, got a date. March 29th, the day after my birthday. So what a great present I get this year! The nurse said to start the pre-op Monday morning and I said....woman! I started pre-op 2 weeks ago tomorrow. She asked why? I said because your office told me to. She said oh.... treat yourself to a nice dinner tonight and congrats on the 12 pounds you've lost so far. So I'm not going to stray from the diet but maybe not be so critical of myself for a few days. Yay to me that I will be a March Bandster!!!! Just wanted to share :-)
  6. I started the pre-op diet 4 weeks before surgery (because of a scheduling issue)...but I didn't want to stop and then start it again. Protein shake for breakfast Protein Shake for lunch 4 oz lean meat 1 cup green veggies Snacks: Apple slices It's been one week and I am down 9 pounds..... It's not bad once you get your mind past the first three days. You see the results and your adreneline comes in and keeps you going. Good luck... you can do it!
  7. I was told to have a Protein shake for 2 meals so do Breakfast and lunch and then 4 oz meat with 1 cup of green veggies. I can have any fruit except citrus throughout the day. And lots of Water. I have found that I snack on Peanut Butter for more Protein and I actually make a smoothie out of the Protein drinks. 8 oz water, 2 scoops (chocolate), 1 tblspn peanut butter and 1/2 cup ice. Blend and enjoy. I really do like them and when I come home from work I am ready to eat right then! They said no bread, potatoes and no dairy. I would love some cottage cheese!
