Shopping for a Dr. in Mexico
~Jules~ replied to Dakota1984's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I live in the Dallas area and flew to San Antonio. The patient coordinator picked us up (me and my sister) at the airport and drove us accross the border to Acuna. Dr. Rodriguez in Acuna did my surgery. It was a great experience and he is a great doc. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. I couldn't be happier. -
I am a self pay that went to Mexico. My local doc charges $250 per fill with flouro.

Bandida, the weight that you have lost pre-band will make a difference in your recovery. (at least that is what I am told). You will do so well.

I have been in this situation a couple of times and I bend over and let it come out/up if that is what it wants to do. It feels so much better getting it out of there. I then give it a rest and a couple of hours later get on liquids for a meal or two. I don't try to make it stay down.

Bandida, I wish you the best tomorrow!!!!!!! It will go just fine and will be over before you know it.

Jessica, I hear ya on the cookie dough. We bought some a couple of months ago from a school fundraiser. It was in the little balls all ready for the oven. Not one piece of it made it to the oven. lol We ate every bit of it raw. It was sooooo good. And unfortunately it goes down really well with the band. lol I am glad I don't have any more because I would be eating it still. I have been doing so well lately. With my exercise and eating. I can really see it in the mirror. That is what keeps me going. Not so much the scale as the mirror. I hope everyone is having a great day!

Please help - gallblader out yesterday

That is good. I am glad to hear that. I hope it all works out for you. -
Are you logging your food? Exercising yet? You might benefit from measuring your food as well so you can actually see what you are eating. Just a couple of thoughts.
-
If you have 60 pounds to lose, you probably are a lower bmi. How tall are you and what do you weigh? I think you mistyped the bmi.
-
BikerGirl, I would say enjoy eating what you want, but remember that whatever you gain from it, you will have to lose it back. I kept that in mind and I didn't go too overboard because I didn't want to add to what I needed to lose. Bread is hard for me now, so if I had known that I would have had more sandwiches. lol I love sandwiches. :-( It is sooo worth it.

Sipping warm liquids might help too. -

Bandida, what is in the onion pie? I love onions and that sure sounds good.

How are you doing today, Susan?

So far so good on the exercising 5 times a week. It has only been 2 days so far this week, but I am sure it will keep up. I am dropping the weight, so I have a lot of motivation. I am going on a cruise in March during Spring Break. I want to lose as much as I can by then. Going to the gym is helping SO much. It has boosted my weightloss. You all are a great motivation. I am really enjoying this thread. Thanks for letting me join you guys.

Hi Cindy ~ the bike butt is fine. I can even ride for an hour now and it is ok. I won't start the new job for a couple of months. They did agree to start paying me the big buck beginning in February. So that helps! I am looking forward to seeing you next week as well.

Hello Audree, When are you going to weigh? I bet you are going to be so happy with the number!
-
Daizee, the treadmill is a great workout if you work up to a good pace. And since your BMI isn't high, 8 pounds is great. It will help when you get good restriction. Bikergirl, I hope your insurance pulls through for you. Self paying sucks, but it is sooooo worth it. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Kat, thank you for sharing your brother's story. It truly makes one appreciate what we have. I am glad he is at least doing as well as he is. Your DH sounds like a gem. You are very lucky. I hope everyone has a wonderful day today.

Bikergirl, When is your surgery?

Hi Angie, You have done great with your band. I am impressed. Are you maintaining now or still trying to lose? You have stumbled into a great group. Welcome!!!

That sounds a bit extreme to me. The powder dissolves. ??? So does that mean no powdered anything? Koolaid, instant coffee, cappucino, Gatorade, etc??
