Raynie, I have 2.4 in my 4cc band. He is mistaken about the amount. It can even take more than 4cc's.

45 - 50% Weight Loss w/ Band?
~Jules~ replied to MCOBandita's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This may be a blessing after all. Maybe you need to find another doctor that doesn't throw out stats like that. I have lost 50% of my excess weight. Does that mean I am done. That is crazy. Take your money elsewhere. I am sure you will find a wonderful doc that will be happy to take you and your money. -
I wouldn't be concerned about that because you don't have a lot to lose to start with. Lower bmi's tend to lose the weight slower. But I would be concerned about the pb's.
-
I would text him again. He may not be putting a face to the number.
-
Yes, Jenny, you should be concerned. I would call the doc and let them know.
-
Thanks for the info!!!

Deckedout, I am so proud of you for wearing that dress. I bet you looked great in it!!!!
-
Good luck Lee. Keep up your great attitude!!! You will get there before you know it.

Q. Should I do cardio or weights first in order to lose fat? I would recommend doing your weight training first when training for fat loss. It is better to do your weight training first for several reasons: 1. You will be stronger and will get more out of your weights when they're done first. This means you will boost your metabolism and burn more calories throughout the day. 2. The weight training will get your body into fat-burning mode for your cardio so that when you do your cardio you will be burning more fat right away. Normally, if you start with cardio, it takes 15 - 20 minutes to get to the point where your body is burning primarily bodyfat instead of the food you've eaten during the day. This will make your cardio work much more effective than if it was done separately or first. This is from the website given in the earlier post.

Audree, I am watching you. You better do that exercise video. lol

Okie, I know it is tough. Pick yourself up and move on. You can't undo it so don't dwell on it. Just think about next week. It is only a week away, right?!
-
Cheryl, I am glad you were tended to. I hope the unfill is just what your tummy needed. I wish you the best!!!

Fly Puddin fly!!!!

Raynie, vent all you need to. That is what the boards are for. If you don't like the chalky protein drinks, go to GNC or The Vitamin Shoppe, or somewhere like that and see what they have. There are a few brands that are clear or that mix with water. There is even a brand that is little like in a test tube. I haven't tried it but have heard a lot about it. Hang in there!!! We are all here for you!

I did the spin class last night at the gym. Wow!!! That class kicked my butt. I made it all the way through, but it was tough. I will do it again tomorrow night. My butt needs a break tonight. lol. I will go to the gym, but not do the spin class. I will probably walk on the treadmill or the elliptical or something.

Also, Raynie... the bypass patient do lose really fast, but do you really want part of your stomach and intestines rerouted? With all the side effects that they have, I will take the band any day.
-
Raynie, The band will help you eat less, but it isn't going to stop you from eating candy bars and ice cream. You also need to get something in your body before 3 pm. Find a protein drink that you like and drink one of them every day. I make sugar free/fat free pudding with skim milk quite a bit. It is a wonderful treat. The fills help the band hold the food in the upper pouch longer and keep you "full" longer. Remember not to drink anything for at least an hour after you eat. I know it is tough sometimes, but the band is a tool that we have to work. As another bandster says, the band is 70% and the other 30% is you. Sometimes I think it is the other way around, but either way we have to do our part. Hang in there. It is soooo worth it in the long run.

Fill or no fill? Opinions needed!! (LONG)
~Jules~ replied to AngieM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Angie, I think you might try a little bit of a fill. 3.5 was too much before, but that was 6 months ago. Your stomach could have lost some weight around it by the band in that length of time. It happens. If you are that hungry just a couple of hours after eating, and aren't drinking anything for at least an hour, a fill may be the key. Good luck to you!! -
Hi notsobigguy, what made you choose these two monitors?
-
If you still aren't restricted enough, I would say it is fine.
