I hear ya Wheetsin, I got called skinny the other day and it kind of irritated me. I have only lost 30 of my 95 or so pounds. Skinny, my ass. I know she meant it as a compliment because she wants the surgery done but can't/won't cut out the diet cokes. She is so proud of me and happy for me, so I don't say anything. I just say, "Eventually." Also, in response to the original comment: I seriously considered not telling my dad and stepmother. Now I kind of wished I hadn't. I see them usually at least once a week and EVERY time I see them they say something about my weight. I am not going to lose weight everytime they see me. I just want to say something like, "I just saw you two days ago. I am not going to lose the weight THAT fast." Don't get me wrong, I know their intentions are good, but good night. I tell them all the time that I am expected to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week. So don't frigin ask me every time you see me. Ok, I am through venting. Thanks for listening (reading). lol

Welcome Wonderwoman, Congrats on your weight loss. You have a wonderful head start. Way to go!!!!!! -
OMG, you ARE crazy. Your story is funny, but you are definately crazy. I am glad you are alright. lol

Angyl, You are sure right about the entertaining part. Geezer, I agree with some of your "list" but some of it is bs. Where in the world did you get that information? From an RNY or DS website? So what do you mean by surgery is over in a day? I don't have time to write a book, so I just picked a couple of highlights. I hope that people researching have enough intelligence to filter through the bs that they have to get through to get to the point that some people do regret having the surgery. Sure, there will always be someone that has issues. No lightbulb there.

Welcome. You have found a place with a lot of wonderful people. Watch out though, it is addicting. :-)

When you are ready, you will know. Now just isn't the right time. Good luck to you and take care.

Woo Hoo!!!! Congrats Suzy. It is a wonderful journey.

Chrispy, I go for my first fill next Wednesday (Dec 6). I can't wait. It will be one day shy of 6 weeks for me. That is about all I can stand to wait. I am ready to get this ball rolling. lol Congrats on your fills, Chrispy and Anwyn.

Personally, I don't think the band can take away head hunger. If I could get a band on my head, I probably would. Head hunger is one of my biggest issues. The band will help me with real hunger, but I am going to have to work on the head hunger myself. Plus, the band is a tool. It isn't going to work for you if you make poor food choices. It will help with the volume of some poor choices, but won't help a bit with ice cream and other similar foods. When researching for information about the band or any other WLS option, one certainly needs to read ALL the posts possible. There are possible problems, but in comparison to the other choices, the band is the best decision, hands down. But we have to remember, it won't do it without our help. I know some of the other surgeries will do it without our help, but are much more dangerous.

Reading the post have freaked me out ..help
~Jules~ replied to DomincanGirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My advice would be to keep reading and not make a decision to fast. I don't know of anyone that chokes because of the band. Keep doing your research. You will make the right decision for you. -
1 year ago today my band was removed due to erosion

Is anyone else planning on having a lil' unfill at goal?
~Jules~ replied to Sunta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a friend that was banded a few years ago and when she got to goal, she had a little unfill and has maintained it now for 2 years. That might be what you need. -

I didn't get the dizzy spells, but from what I have read on here over the past couple of months is that you may not be getting enough calories. Are you drinking your protein? Congrats on your surgery and your new life. It is a wonderful journey!!!!!!!!! -
Chili's has always been good about adults ordering off the kids menu. They just don't give the adults the free kids drink. At least that is the way it is around my neck of the woods.
-
Wow, I love this thread. I am down 30 pounds, but it has only been 5 weeks since surgery and 7 since preop diet started. I am certainly on my way.
-
I order the kids meals all the time. I prefer the smaller portion. Of course if they only have chicken fingers and pb and j sandwiches, then I skip the kids menu. I also like to have leftovers so if there is something that will reheat well, that is my choice.
-
I was told if you PB very much, you could cause your band to slip. I believe she said more than once a month. I would be really concerned if I was PBing everyday.
-
Cindy, Beautifully said.

Beversman, You are so right. I knew the possible issues that might arise, but it was worth chancing. I am so tired of being "a big girl". I know this is the tool to help me change that. I know you will do awesome on your journey. You have a great attitude!!

What a wonderful NSV!!! Congrats.
-
Congrats to you both. I am just 4.5 weeks out and couldn't be happier. It was worth every dime. I hope you two feel the same. Good luck to you.

I am a self pay and would do it again in a heartbeat. I have found the help I need to keep the weight off when I get it off. I couldn't be happier.
