    Some mild headache issues

I did increase the Water intake and after awhile it got better and hasn't bothered me since. Today is day 4 (224lbs, 9lbs. down since surgery) and don't have to drink Isopure anymore! It was like medicine. Now I can drink muscle milk etc. also I can have creamed soups! 4 oz. of Cream of chicken never tasted so good! Even got to have 4 oz. of vanilla sugar-free pudding!
  4. Had my Sleeve surgery last Friday 9-17-10. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Bloading gone. Dropped nearly 7 lbs since Friday! (keep looking behind me to see where I dropped those pounds. LOL!) Only problem now is a small headache. Probably from nearly no calories, and no caffine! Also on day 0 and most of day 1 I found it hard to take in very much liquid. I shouldn't have a problem reaching the 64oz. today. All and all I feel GREAT! When they weighed me at the hospital I was down a lot more then I thought. A small part of me said if I could loose the weight without surgery then why have the surgery? My answer is that I would just regress to old habits. I plan on continuing my support group through Kaiser in order to stay on track.

    Pre-Surgery

    Day before Surgery
  6. I'm a Kaiser patient and took their Options class. finished mid-June. Getting the Sleeve Surgery next Friday with Dr. Kim at WLA Kaiser. I've already lost 20 lbs. in prep. I'm ready, but I feel like I'm waiting in line for an exciting ride at an amusement park. Kinda' nervous, excited, and a little worried all at the same time. But I've waited this long to get to the front of the line, so I'm ready. Before I retired I wondered what it would be like to retire. When I did retire I realized it wasn't like jumping off a cliff. It was more like taking another step. I think the surgery will be another step in my life. A very good step! All my life I have done for others. Now for once, it's for ME! At every weight-loss class that I have taken there is always goal setting and rewards for reaching a goal. I never had a problem setting a goal, but I never could choose a reward for myself for reaching that goal. After all the months of prep time, I am sure I am doing the right thing. I will keep the forum posted as everything plays out. Marty

    Chobani Greek Yogurt

Tried the Trader Joes Greek style nonfat yogurt pomegranate flavor. I liked the thick "mouth-feel" but it was really "tangy". 12g carbs 14g Protein. Marty

    Newbie - Made my decision

I have also been lurking around here since my doctor recommended this surgery. I am glad I found this site as I have a bunch of questions and as I get answers I find out that I have even more. Best thing I see about this site is that I can learn from others what to do and what not to do! My Bariatric doctor who has treated me on and off for over ten years used to not believe in surgery but rather treated using medication, exercise, and group support. But this time when I went back to see him after 3 years, he suggested the sleeve rather then the meds. Thankfully he wants to keep the exercise and group which I know is the only way for long term success.

    VSG Dietary Guidelines

Thanks for the link. I found the rearranged food pyramid very interesting. My journey has just begun after my doctor recommended this surgery. The surgery will happen by this summer. I have Kaiser insurance and they cover this procedure providing I take a 12 week pre-op class. I am glad they offer the long class because should be somewhat prepared by then and ready to succeed! Happy to have found this great website. Marty
