  1. I was banded on Feb 4th and was just trying to find someone else that was banded on or about the same day to keep tabs on each other and compare progress and experiences!

Was anyone banded on Feb 4??

Gretch77: Wow, 26 pounds since surgery is great! I am only down 12!! I am getting my first fill on March 8 too. I am not feeling very much restriction right now. I do stay full for a long time if I do eat but the fact that I can eat more than I need is hard because it's all will power. I was on liquids for a week, mushy for a week and have been on regular food since last Thursday and didnt do that great over the weekend. Went out to dinner and had a bunch of stuff going on. Didnt really over eat but didnt eat great either. I am going to make it my goal now not to have anything I shouldnt between now and when I get filled on the 8th. I am really excited for the fill!

Mammasita8, I feel the same way in that I can eat whatever I want for the most part. Bread gives me a little more trouble than food but I do feel restriction. I was expecting it to be like this tho until the first fill. Vayron, Hey I am from Washington too. Where were you banded? I was banded at Northwest Weight Loss Surgery in Everett. I had the SILS (Single Incision LapBand Surgery) procedure so I just have the one incision and its healing pretty good. A little sore still but getting better! It’s nice to hear from both of you!

Was anyone banded on Feb 4??

Tweety, I am assuming your 38 pound loss is including your pre op diet? Bella, I am going to start exercising this weekend. I start back up with my trainer in a few weeks so I need to get back into a little better shape first. I was in a weight loss plan with her (thru my insurance) before the surgery. Stacey, You said there is no restriction. Do you mean you feel no restriction or the band is empty? I haven’t had a fill yet but I really do feel restriction. So just wondering exactly what you meant. Momran, welcome it’s nice to have you! I think its so interesting how everyone’s experiences are so different!

    Swelling and Incision Pain?

I had the SILS (Single Incision LapBand Surgery) So I just have one incision at my belly button. Tomorrow will be two weeks for me and I don’t ever remember any swelling but one side of my incision isn’t healing perfectly. One of the stri trips got yanked off and took the scab too early and it hasn’t healed right ever since. The other side is great. I think this side rubs on my pants too much so I put a big band aide over it to try and protect it from my waistband.

So excited about my new found restriction!

I was just banded a week ago and you are inspiring to me. Great job setting up goals and a way to obtain them. I might do the same thing!! Keep up the good work!

    operation story

Thanks for your story. I know everyones experience is different and everyones doctor tells you something different. Your story is a lot different than mine. It seems like you were in a lot more pain and had a much worse experience than I did. (I was banded 2/4/10) I went into the surgery center at 6 and was on my way home at 10:30. I felt fine on the way home and the next day. The day after that I had quite a bit of shoulder pain from the gas and walking and burping and farting felt GREAT!!! But all my insides did not hurt like you were describing and them putting the camera down your throat when you were awake.....WTF??? That would scare the crap out of me too. I did go to the best surgery center in the state so everything and everyone was very nice and professional. To tell you the truth some of the things you described left me with my mouth wide open! My surgeon doesent want me to have any fills until 4 weeks and then wait until at least 4 more weeks. Your fill schedule seems awfully quick. I dont think your swelling has gone down enough to have a fill yet. Once you do eat you will feel restriction, mine is just like a pressure. Anyway, I am glad your feeling better and I wish you all the luck in the world I just thought I would tell you what happend to me compared to your story and like I said I am not a doc its just my 2 cents!

    Question

Yes I know that getting a fill under xray is normal. My surgeons office has a room just for that. Incase they have a hard time getting it done without

    Battle of the Pickle Chips!

I dont have a lot of wisdom to share with you because I have only been banded for a little over a week. I have been told of this dreaded period after getting banded you speak of. After your healed and the swelling has gone down you feel no restriction! All I can say is try to eat filling foods and really test your ability to stick to a a healthy eating lifestyle! Thats my plan! Hopefully your getting a fill soon which should help!

Afraid to eat real food again

I’m craving salad too! I am about a week and a half out from being banded. One good thing to think about when you go back to solid foods (because you will need to) is that you can’t eat that much. I feel restriction even tho I have no fill and so it prevents me from eating much of anything anyway. So do your best and if you fall off the wagon just get back on right away. This is just a tool you still have to change your lifestyle! I wish you all the success in the world!

Please help - what's going on..

That seems a little weird to me. I was banded on 2/4/10 and have had full liquids from day one without any problems and switched to mushy foods on day 8 per my doc. I am obviously not a doctor but your experience is much different than mine. If it were me I would call the doc.
