  1. Wow Betsy, I never knew you were a 24 and now a 12????....that is simply amazing!

  2. I too, have decided to get back on track with my protein intake. I've been stuck at the same weight since June 30th. I have been watching my calorie intake but I know I've been spending the calories on some of the wrong things. Even my fiancee commented that I was slipping back into some habits. Thanks for posting this.

Almost my 1 month Post op anniversary and nothing

The doctor's says to concentrate on healing the first month. I was on mushies two weeks after surgery and ate lots of mashed potaoes. Needlesstosay, I gained a pound the first month post surgery. When I went in for my first fill, I thought my doctor would be furious. Even the nurse who weighed me eyed me suspiciously. However, my doctor reassured me that it was okay and I was ready to really get on track. I had 1.5 cc added in my first fill, so know that I was hungry and working on sheer will power. Give it time. My biggest success was fifteen pounds in the month of May. That month, I excercised daily and made sure I got in my 60-80 grams of protein a day. The area around your band is swollen and is healing itself, remember? So, there may be tightness which causes you to eat less.

    plateau plateau plateau

Let's hope it'll get better. Have you thought about going back to the shake and protein pre-op with no carbs? You know, to jump start yourself. I have lost 7 pounds in the last six weeks and wanted to lose more than that so I've been thinking of going back to the pre-op. Just an idea.

    Surgery Tomorrow 7-27-10

when I had surgery, I was told GasX chewables. I was popping them like M&M's. They did little to relieve the gas, but as someone said...the walking did!!!! and so did my heating pad. Good luck! Welcome to bandland

    Blowing it out of proportion?

Yes, it's true I don't neglect the household for the computer. I leave my log on info up so anyone can read anything on my pc. Also, it's like many of you say, he doesn't know answers to specific lapband and food problems. I tried to let him read the site but so far he has not wanted to. I compare the eating and addiction analogy and that did not go over well cause he thinks it's "simple" to lose. I just come on once in the morning (when the kids are asleep) and maybe once in the afternoon but I am no longer coming on the site in front of him although he has not said anything else about it since last week. I did agree to not get on often and try not socializing/commenting but I don't know how that will turn out. Thanks everyone!

    Approval!!!

I missed you too, lady, I'm so glad you received your insurance approval and you have my support on your decision to have the sleeve. Good luck and push through that last supper syndrone. Can't wait to see the new you! uh oh oh
  13. Yeah, it had to do with beings friends or not. You should feel very proud of those pics!!! Keep it up.

  14. I visit this site about three times a week. It provides support and inspiration. Well last week, I was on here and I decided to comment on someone's blog. I don't comment too often but I felt compelled to because I completely understood the person's discouragement and I wanted to motivate her/him not to base weight loss on pictures taken. Anyway, my would-be husband became upset and acted a fool because I was blogging. First, he started accusing me of being on FB, when he found out I was on this site, he became more upset and started ranting about chatting with unknown ppl and beginning unhealthy/flirty relationships on here. He said they (these relationships) begin with a sob story response. On and on....... I don't get his anger? I don't think I come on here too often and I need the support. I told him that I would not visit as often but I will not give it up...not even to save our relationship? Don't I have the right? I'm not doing anything wrong on here and I don't like feeling like I have to sneak on when I'm not doing anything wrong. Has anyone experienced this?
  15. He has my FB password and I have his. We do not check each others emails, phones, or anything else....his recommendation for the most part. He is welcome to info because I stay logged on. I don't ever have personal/private chats.
  16. yeah, I decided to get on when he's at work and the children are asleep....early in the morning, except now cause the children are out. He says that ppl on the pc get more attention from me than they do. I don't think that is true but oh well. I guess my biggest problem is I don't want the support turned off. His way of supporting me is not working. He said it is because I want someone to side with me when I am eating wrong (NOT TRUE). I told him, I just want him to listen sometimes, and not judge....just listen. Anyway, I like the idea of sitting and making pc rules. I just wanted to be sure this wasn't a control thing, cause that's not my style.

one picture = so much damage...

When you go in for your fill, explain this to your doctor. Perhaps she/he can recommend a different "after fill plan". My doctor says clear liquid the first day (and a shake for protein although I don't always do the shake), Second day fluids..including coffee,.... third day, mushies. After third day, regular food plan. Maybe you have a 14cc band and just need more. I understand your frustration about starving. When I feel like that I eat a filling food or drink water to try and block the feeling.
