Have U tried the 5 Day Pouch Test by Kaye Bailey?
susan1010 commented on susan1010's blog entry in Blog 85718
hey rheaosun...check out the website I put up above. Today is day 3 for me & I lost 5 lbs in 2 days. I'm back on track!! -
Banded on 3/18/2010. 1st fill for a total of 5cc in my 14cc band. Don't really have any kind of restriction, can eat bread. I've lost the same 3 pounds, back & forth for about 3 weeks. I am a right brained artist who has never followed any rule unless maybe I saw a police car behind me, then I'd slow down!! So, being banded for not too long, I've just been eating what ever I wanted thinking that because I didn't eat that much that I'd magically lose weight. :blush:So I started the 5 Day Pouch Test. Day 1 yesterday, all liquids. AT 6:00 PM I was ready to eat the whole world! Stayed strong & didn't eat. This morning I was down 3, for a new total of 45 pounds.:thumbup:It's almost 6:00 & I'm hungry & going to make tomato soup. The weird thing is that it is easier for me to not eat at all than to stop myself from overeating with the band. Do you ever feel that way????

I LOVE Muscle Milk (light) It tastes like a chocolate Yoo-hoo. It is only 100 calories & a bunch, like 30% protein. It is a lifesaver. I get it at Target & Wal-Mart.I start out every day with 1/2 pot of coffee w/skim milk. 1 Muscle Milk at 11:00 and 1:00. Tomato soup at 4:00 & 6:30. I have a couple of Slenderize FUZE drinks. They are super awesome, 10 calories & some vitamins. Right now I am hungry, but I'd be hungry if I ate a full meal at 6:30!! I am super happy that I've done this for 2 days. I'm going to post tomorrow to let you know what I did for 2 days of liquids. It's CRAZY that I can not eat for 2 days, but on some days still try to way overeat. -

anyone had to have their fill in a hospital?

Thank you so much for your responses! I am so thankful for this website and everyone who takes time to help each other! -
I am so frustrated & confused! I was banded 3/18/2010. Including a 10 day liquid diet I lost 30# very quickly. I've been at this current weight for about a month. I called my dr. office to schedule my 1st fill. When I went Thurs. I was mentally prepared for it & ready to have restriction & not be able to eat so much. The dr. said that he does his fills in a hospital with x-rays. I can't go for 2 weeks because I'm a teacher. School's almost out & we can't take time off. :cursing:I've been reading for 2 months on this site about how everyone seems to get theirs done in the dr.'s office? I'm upset about 1. waiting 2. if my ins will cover it.

Congratulations! I was banded 3 weeks ago & I've been doing the same thing. It feels great!
-
You have to try Muscle Milk!! It is awesome!! Sold at Target & Foodworld, probably lots of other places. It is 100 cal., 45% protein, not a milk product & tastes DELICIOUS!!! The unjury made me gag!!! I was so glsd I only spent money on 3 little samples.
-
You are exercising, U R doing better than me. I have had beginner's luck I think. As of today I have 4 weeks behind me. 10 days liquid pre-op, surgery, liquuids & now mushy stuff. I have lost 31 1/2 so far. I know it can't go on like this much longer!! Question - so you don't get that dumping syndrome when you eat cookies & ice cream??

sorta of venting but it is an issue

I completely understand your problem. I teach 2nd grade. I have had a princpal from hell for about 5 years. If you're not a teacher you can't understand the complete & toal power a principal has. I won an official grievence with the union. The principal retired in May, 1 month afer I won my grievance. I didn't know it but my union rep screwed up by not getting it in writing. Because I had not been in that type of situation before I just assumed the union would take care of it. I thought that's what I paid all of my dues for. My new principal said she had nothing in writing, and there was no big room open, so she really couldn't do anything. So, I am still stuck in the same horrible little room. I was put there because my principal was PSYCHO. I got put on the hit list because a a girl in my room had sexually inappropriate things done to her on the playground. They were great parents & we had a terrific relationship. They were horrified & the their girl was white & the offender was a black boy. The Resource Officer got called in. That pissed off my psych principal. She told me that "She needed to keep a close eye on me" and moved me & my class to this crummy LITTLE room in the middle of 2nd quarter. So I understand your situation. You can not demand your legal rights or you can be screwed so bad. My suggestion is to make an appointment & plead your case one on one. Good luck! -
Congratulations! I am 8 days post surgery & feel great.

At the risk of embarrassing myself....
susan1010 commented on Yvette1026's blog entry in How I lost 100lbs
I had a muscle milk on the 3rd day after my surgery...blasted it out after about an hour. Called the nutritionist on Mon. said that I couldn't have that at work when I went in Tues. She said my stomach just wasn't ready. Suggest yogurt smoothies. Still some of those issues but not so bad. I had 1/2 c skim milk with coffee, smoothie at luch. Had to GO at 2:00. But I must be healing cuz it hasn't happened since. -
Congratulations! 1 week ago today was my banding. Since starting my 10 day pre-op till now I'm down 23#. I feel really good. No problems & went to work Tues with no problems. I really enjoy reading your posts! Keerp up the good work!

I had my surgery a week ago today. Maybe because both of my kids were born c-section that this wan't a big deal for me. I went to work Tues. It was slow going & I was extra spacy. Wed. morning felt so exhausted, but had 1 cup of coffee ( forget the decaf) with 1/2 cup skim milk. I perked up enough to go to work. Today I felt about 90% normal. Each day gets better. I teach 2nd grade & worked 9 hrs yesterday, 10 today. Right now I'm not tired or hungry!!! You can do it.

I was banded 1 week ago today. I have lost 23 pounds. My 10 day pre-op diet was a breeze because I found out about Muscle Milk . It is available at Target & is 45% protein. It keeps you amazingly full. My surgery went fine. I had it Thurs morning & went back to work on Tues. Everything is great. I was only on pain meds for a few days. 75% of the time, like today, I forgot I had stitches in my stomach. Since I teach 2nd grade, I have lots of distractions. Good Luck. I'm glad I did it.

I enjoyed reading about your journey. I'm day 7 pre-op & get banded on Thurs.

This is my 6th great day!! I was nervous about being able to do it, especially after reading about some people experiencing problems and reading about them crying with hunger. It has been , dare I say not bad & jinx myself?!? lol! I teach 2nd grade & was nervous about having to "go" all the time. I had a talk with my students about me drinking a lot of water & having to be out of the room a couple of times. As a rule elementary teachers train their bladder to go: 1. right before the 1st bell 2. at their PE time 3. at lunch & 4. After the last bell. If you're out of the room & something happens....liability issues not to mention your principal and parents bringing the wrath of God because John stabbed Sally with a pencil while you were ...out of the room..they don't care if you have to tinkle or not!!! Anyway that has been fine...no kids on the floor tussling when I come back. I thought I'd list what I'm drinking & when because it has been SO EASY. I had bee at 250# for about 15 years. Then about 280-290 for the last couple of years. Knowing that I was going to get banded I've not even cared one little bit about what I had been eating, or how much. I went in to get weighed on the 5th & I as 311.5# I thought I was going to faint! I started the liquid diet this past Monday. I've lost weight every day, naturally since I'm not eating!! This morning I was down 12#. But the morst important thing is that 90% of the time I have not been hungry, I have had no problems & I have been happy. Here's what I've been doing. PS Not sure if it's 100% right or "legal" but here it is: 5:30 - 6:30am 2 huge cups of coffee with a little skim milk (this is normal for me) 9:30 a bottle of water with Slim Shots appetite suppressent powder I got from Wal-Mart. 12:00 1 box prepared of sf Jello 1 container of Muscle Milk 110 calories, 35% protein..absolutely delicious 3:15 1 can of a chocolate protein 110 cal. 35% protein 6:00ish another box of prepared jello & a Muscle Milk, then a little while later a couple of sugar free fudgiscles I hope this may help some of you getting ready to go pre-op. I can't do broths ugh & I of course love chocolate. Good luck to all of you getting ready to begin this!

Hello all! I so appreciate this website. I have learned so much. I''m wondering about Smoothie King. Today is my 3rd day on the pre-op diet. The 1st 2 days using the Unjury supplement were Ok. The 1st day I used the unflavored powder in a strawberry Fuze slenderize strawberry. It smelled like baby formula. I held may breat, drank it fast & popped a piece of sugar free gum. 2nd day I tried my strawberry Unjury powder sample in the strawberry Fuze slenderize. It was not as bad but I still held my breath. For supper I had a chocolate Muscle Milk. AWESOME!!! I love it. Today I got on the Smoothie King website. Everything had too much sugar except the Gladiator. It had 45% of protein & 1% sugar. So after a long day of teaching 2nd graders I zipped over there all giddy & happy. When I got up to the window the girl said that the different syrups had different levels of sugar. The banana had 13 or 18 grams of sugar, OMG Right now I can't remember which it was. Anyway, that's probably off limits right??? However, I did get one & if was so yummy & I have energy right now....as opposed to dozing off at 7:00 last night!! Is that too much sugar for when I get the band. I don't want to experience the dumping syndrome!!!

I'm only 1 day ahead of you. I'm finishing up day 2 Pre-op. The first day I tried my unflavored sample of Unjury unflavored in a Fuze strawberry slenderize drink. It smelled like babyfood. I held my breath while I drank it. Today I tried the Unjury Strawberry mixed with the Fuze strawberry drink. It was bad, but not horrible like yesterdays. I'm looking fo something better!
