hi everyone and congratulations to all of us! i started at 103 kilograms (227) and now i am down to 82 (180) yay yay yay!!! 47 pounds!!! my journey began on the 11 February 2010 and will continue... i am feeling kinda weird about body image stuff and was wondering if anyone else is having similar issues. at 227 pounds i felt fat, but attractive and confident... now i look at myself and sometimes i feel great and am very happy with the progress, but more often, i look at the sagging skin and at how fat i am and feel less attractive, less sexy, and more dissatisfied with what i see in the mirror than i did 5 and a half months ago. sometimes the inability to binge and feel full and comforted is maddeningly frustrating... am i alone in this particular wilderness???

hi guys it's great to see how amazingly everyone is doing (bar PB and slime episodes of course)! i've lost 17 kilos/37.4 pounds and having the lapband surgery was the BEST decision i've ever made! I've had 3 fills, up to 7cc in a 13cc band and although eating can be challenging at times i just adore the freedom that this marvellous tool has given me. thank you all for your postings- they inspire, educate and support this journey

since i last posted, i've had a really challenging time emotionally. My partner and i split up and the medical aid refused to reimburse any of the surgeon or hospital costs. there is however some really good news as well: :smile2:i've lost 17.5 pounds since my surgery 5 weeks ago :smile2:my blood pressure medication has been halved :smile2:i've been offered a new job i'm feeling strong and motivated and my surgeon has been amazing. I had my first fill two weeks after surgery and my second is scheduled for this coming monday.

I had surgery on the 11th of Feb... 6 days of clear liquids and protein shakes followed by thcker soups, yogurt, cottage cheese and scrambled eggs by day 12 i could manage salad and chicken! Day 13 i went for a fill...2cc. After the fill i was back on liquids for 24 hours, soft foods for another 24 and then back to regular food, eaten slowly and carefully. I'm eating far less, but still a fair amount... yesterday i had scrambled egg, cottage cheese with 3 crackers, a banana, 5 grapes(yes, i counted!), a bowl of lentil and vegetable soup, come rice crisps as a snack and a slice of salami which nearly killed me! everything excluding the salami went down happily...the salami was the cause of extreme pain...i felt like i was having a heart attack! i just dont know how much is too much, Calorically i probably consumed less than 1500 calories, which i believe is an appropriate amount.. what are you all eating???
