    Help with soft food recipes

    I made a lasagna for dinner one night and my hubby blended it for me and ran it through a strainer. I just added a little more sauce to it and it was pretty good.

    I am just the opposite. I have not had a "normal" BM since surgery. I have a hard time going and have been using benefiber almost everyday. I think I only go 2x a week.

    Well I am not sure where everyone went but I am still here. My cousin had a baby this week so I was worried about not checking in sooner but I see that I was the last one to post. I had some hoe managed to gain 2 lbs this past week but then when I weighed myelf this morning it was gone. Let's hope it stays gone...lol. I went to Smoothie King today and got a Gladiator with pineapple and orange. It kind of tasted like an orange julius and it had 45 grams of protein in it. Well I will check back in a few days to see if anyone else is still around.

    Help with soft food recipes

    I did some ricotta cheese and spaghetti sauce. I had to add some seasoning to it but it was pretty good. I know you are trying to watch your carbs but I also have ate mashed potatoes (I used the flakes since I was just making them for me) with a little sprinkle of dry ranch dressing mix, and cottage cheese. sounds strange but it was really good. Cottage cheese with SF jam or jelly. what about soft scrambled eggs? I was able to have those during that stage. Hope that helped.
  6. Welcome!!!! I live not to far from you in Spring Hill!! Your weight loss is great. I was just banded in March and I hope that I am as succussful as you have been. Although I gained 2 lbs this week. Not sure how or why but kind of bummed about it.
  7. Good Morning All!!!! Well I will be at the meeting tomorrow. We put off the retirement party for my grandma because my cousin had her baby lasst night!!!!! So we will do it in 2 weeks. Hope to see you there.

  10. I was a cash patient as well and it is a big chunk of change. However my question to you is....How many other times have you tried to diet and failed or have lost weight to put it back on plus 10 or more pounds? I would think that if you ahve gone this far that you have tried all other options. Plus you can't do the pre op diet forever. That type of diet is meant to be short term. You can do this. I know you can and I think deep down inside you know you should. We are all here for you and Dr. Malley and his staff are all great and you can email or call them any time. Dr. Malley banded me and he was the only one that I would have choose to do it. How about you come to the support group on Saturday (it is this Saturday, right?) I think I am going to go even if it is just for half the meeting. I have my grandmother's retirement party to go to that afternoon and my daughter has softball practice that morning as well but I think it is very important to go to them. Please join us.

    Spring into March 2010 Bandsters

    I am doing well. No more gas pains, the clothes are fitting better, and the weight seems to be coming off nicely. However, the last few days I seem to come home from work and want to eat everything I can get my hands on. I do fine between Breakfast and lunch but then about 3 I am starting to get hungry. So I have a handful of peanuts and that seems to hold me over til about 5. Tonight for dinner I had mashed potatoes and cottage cheese. Which was satisfying but I think I ate to much. How are you doing?
  12. Jason I promise you will be fine. I was the same way that you are. Heck I cried all the way to the surgery center the morning of. I also went as far as to tell my husband that I wanted my youngest to have my wedding ring (she is only 3), I told him how much my life insurance policy was through work, and also told him where I wanted to be buried. I never was really scared about the stuck issues or throwing up. I kind of figure if you do what you are suppose to and chew everything well you should not have a problem. With that being said...I was banded on 3/25 and have moved up to soft foods. I ate a hard boiled egg the night before Easter and the next morning thought one sounded good for Breakfast. Well it was cold and not as soft as the one the night before. It kind of had a hard time going down even though I chewed really good. I had to get up and walk around to hel it down. Lesson learned. Only eat warm eggs. This is a learning lesson for all of us and we will all make it through it even you!!!! :thumbdown:

    Shoulder PAIN...how long?

    Try liquid Mylanta. Make sure the active ingredient is simethicone at least 20-40mg. It really does work and the bloated feeling in your stomach that you have, or will soon get, it helps a lot with that to. Also the nurse told me that if the heating pad to the shoulder that hurts does not work try putting it on your side. That it could be a gas bubble trapped on your side putting pressure on things.

    Get some Benefiber (sp?)!!!! It dissolves nice and you can't taste it. I add it to cottage cheese, Protein shakes, and soups. It does help and I add it 3x a day about every other day.
  15. I was wanting to try really hard to be good today with this being the first holiday since being banded. So this is what I ate... Breakfast - 2 Hard boiled eggs Lunch - sm. spoonful of potoato salad, sm. spoonful of potoatoes au gratin, sm. spoonful of baked beans (did not finish them, and about 1/2 cup of smoked pulled pork no sauce) and when I say a small spoonful I mean maybe 1 Tblsp. Then here is where I went wrong. I had a piece of cherry cheesecake about 4 hours after lunch. My plan for dinner is 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 1/2 cup bean and bacon soup. Oh and all I have drank today has been water. So be honest how bad was I? I have not had a fill yet so there is not much restriction and I never really felt stuffed or even close to full just satisfied.
  16. Good Monday morning. So today is weigh in day and my weight is 313 as of this morning. So I am going to change my goal to 14 pounds.
  17. Thanks Joyce. I am doing well although I should not have ate that piece of cheesecake today after Easter lunch. My mother in law had Jack Stack's for Easter lunch and was nice enough to order some burnt ends that were sshredded more like a pulled pork with no sauce for me. It was yummy!!! How about you how are you doing?

    Feel like I blew it today

    Thank you all. I feel better now and you are right. The band is a tool and there is nothing written in stone saying I can't have these things sometimes just not every day.

    Spring into March 2010 Bandsters

    Well I am still here. I still check in at least a couple of times a week....ok well at least once a week. Way to go on gettingin a size 12!!! I would love to see a size 12 but would be happy to get back to an 16 or 18. Seems like a long way away from my size 26.

    What can I take for allergies??

    There is also Zyrtec liquid that is good and it is not suppose to make you sleepy or wire you. I give it to my kids and it is over the counter and they have no side effect from it.

    LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions

    Every doctor has different rules and diets so I am not sure that the advice we give would be good to use unless you call your doctor. But for what it is worth I was allowed to have protein shakes on my post op. They wanted me to have they since your body needs protein to heal after surgery.
  24. I would like to join as well. I was just banded on 3/25/2010 and I would like to lose 15 lbs. That seems like a lot to me but it would put me just under 300 lbs and I have not been under 300 in over a year.
  25. Happy Friday Everyone!!! I had my one week post op appt today with Dr. Malley and I half lost 25 pounds from my starting weight!!! I get to advance my diet to softer foods now so I had tuna for lunch today and I am really full like over ate to full. I bought one of those Tuna lunch and go things and ate not even half of it and I can feel the tightness in my stomach. Well have a great holiday. I am not sure if I will be at the next support group next Saturday. My grandmother retired yesterday so we are having a BBQ for her that day around 1230. I may come for a little bit depending on what all I need to do.
