Today is the day that I have lost 50 lbs since I started this Journey on 1/1/10. My banding was done on 2/21/10 and I have lost 20 lbs since then. I have another 50 lbs to go, i think. Not sure what I will look like at 150 or 125 for that matter, 125 is my current goal, I may stop before that, we will see. Hope everyone is doing fantastic! -
So I now know what people were talking about when they said "sliming" and can I say... YUCK! I tried 2 small bites of rice and then the pain started. Next was when the fun started, sliming and throwing up. For me 2 small bites of rice equals 20+ minutes of unpleasantness. I will not touch rice again that is for sure!

Just an update on my progress. Surgery-2/21/10 First Fill-3/27/10 4.5cc's Second Fill-4/10/10 2cc's Before Surgery lost 20 lbs Lost 12 from 2/21/10 to 3/27/10. Lost 7 from 3/27/10 to 4/07/10 and then gained 3 from 4/07/10 to 4/10/10-not doing anything different... Got a fill and lost 3 since 4/10/10...so I am back at 20 since surgery. Doctor says I am not doing anything wrong, will not give another fill until 6/5/10 =( and I don't think I have any restricition yet...anyway just trying to stay motivated and not freak out unnecessarily. Thanks for listening/reading. -
So I was given my first fill of 4.5 cc's on March 27th and I feel no restriction. Is there something wrong or is this normal to get what I thought was a good fill and not have any restriction yet? Is this a sign of a leak?

I use the EAS protein drinks, love the chocolate and the strawberry. I cannot drink the vanilla, it gives me heartburn...

So I had my first fill on Saturday. He put 4.5 in....first he put 5 but the water kept getting stuck. Is 4.5 a normal fill? I was on liquids Sat and Sun and I am on mushies today and tomorrow. Anyway, just wanted to make sure on the fill amount.

I am right there with you. My surgery was on the 21st of Feb and I have loast 12 pounds since then. I do the protein shake for breakfast and fish for lunch with a vege, for dinner I eat the same since I eat so little there is enough for multiple meals. I started working out 2 weeks ago and that is where the last 2 pounds came off. But since then, nada, 0, nothing! I work out for 30 minutes on an eliptical and I walk all day (outside job). Help anyone? I have my first fill tomorrow....

Thank you ladykcusa, I was only banded one day before you. WOW, 17lbs, that is amazing! How many calories and proteins are you getting in a day if I may ask? And are you working out yet? Thank you for the positive reply. -

Hello Everyone! Congrats on everyone's progress, I however am feeling very sad. I lost 15 pounds pre-op and 10 post-op. I have been banded for 16 days. I have not lost anything for a week. I just started mushies, I am doing everything that has been suggestion from the doctor'd office and nutritionist. I am drinking plenty of water and protein shakes. What is up? My first fill will be around the 27th. Just feeling bumbed =( -
So I am now 10 days out and each day is a new adventure. I am having a lot of real pain in my lower stomach, at first I felt really hungry, I am still on liquid diet for 4 more days :tt2:. I am drinking protein shakes and a lot of water. I feel no restriction now. The hunger turned to pain about 1 hour ago. Does anyone know what the heck this is?

I am 10 days post op and when I feel like having more than liquid I have a popsicle and that helps, especially the fudgsicle. The gas pain does go away, I found that gas-x helped. That is what people recommened to me and a heating pad. Good luck!
