  1. Sounds awful. I hate when you say "no" or "no thank you" and they keep on about it.

    Disappointment. I has it.

Slouch when they measure your height. Good luck, hope you lose an inch :blushing:
  3. I have Cigna, I got my approval in 3 days and was really surprised, I think they tell you this to make you be patient
  4. Each insurance is different from what I've read. I was required to do a 6 monthly visits supervised diet. First appt was Feb 12, last appt was July 14. So actually i had 5 months on the diet, but had 6 monthly visits. If they mean 3 montly visits or a 3 month diet may be the key. 3 month diet would mean 90 days, 3 monthly visits could be what you have done. I would go to a 4th visit if I am unsure, then you would have both covered
  5. Did you go to any doctor at all, I had to use my obgyn records for 2005, could not find anything else for that year.
  6. My paperwork was sent on Monday and I received approval today (Thursday) Yay! Can hardly believe it only took 3 days! I'm glad it was so fast and very thankful because I know some here have waited for weeks. Next step is to schedule surgery. Unless they have an opening within 3 weeks, I won't be able to get it until October due to work. I don't care either way, I'm just happy lol.
  7. Hope you find out soon :tt2:
  8. I just found out my paperwork was faxed to my insurance yesterday (July 19, 2010). So now I am finally one of the "waiting for my insurance" people. I've been doing this process since January 2010 and can't believe it's finally out of my hands and sent to insurance. Woo hoo! Now I can be anxious and wait LOL.:tt2:
  9. I would bet no starchy veggies are allowed

    Any indiana people out there?

Hi I just replied to your other post and now see this one, so now I know your name and where you are having surgery. You may want to go to your post with that letter and edit out your name :tt2: Good luck with your surgery
  11. I would take my name out of the post also. I wouldn't even want my last name in my online ID.
  12. Ask for a antibiotic shot instead of pills, they work faster
  13. Good luck! I found out mine will be 3 day liquid diet also, I'm so happy not to have to do 2 weeks.
  14. I found this list online somewhere (maybe even here lol). Just a guideline and gives an idea of what to get. I read the gas-x is good to help with the gas that is left in your stomach after surgery. They blow up your stomach during surgery to give more space for surgeon to do his/her magic. This may be 2 different lists, but gives a good idea: Stock up on stuff before surgery Flavorless Protein Mix Protein drinks Soup Soup Soup Cans of chicken breast that I can warm up and eat pineapple juice.... sugar-free popsicles bariatric Vitamins Rx for pain meds (the doctor will give it to you ahead of time so you don't have to worry about filling it after you get home) FiberSure (or other soluble fiber) Gas-X a few good-tasting Proteins (in addition to the flavorless) Lots of broth sugar-free popsicles Crystal lite Protein shakes, and protein powders (taste–test and find the ones you like best before stocking up). Water Broth and other clear Soups Clear, no-sugar added juices Sugar-free non caloric beverages (NO carbonated beverages) Light sports drinks Sugar-free popsicles Sugar-free Jello Creamy soups Applesauce of sugar-free pudding cups (if, and ONLY if your doctor permits you to take your medications with a spoonful of these) Sugar-free hot cocoa Decaf and herbal teas Decaf coffee chewable vitamins Small 2-4 oz plastic cups A strainer (for removing chunks from creamy soups)
  15. I had a surgery while on my period. A few years later, the morning of my hysterectomy my friend came to visit one last time lol. Mother Nature has a sense of humor lol. The only bad thing is those giant hospital pads they make you wear.
  16. I would go there, get copies of all of my files and drive the extra miles. You need supportive staff working WITH you not people with attitudes working AGAINST you. Isn't driving a little extra worth it?
  17. I was told the Protein helps with the hair and also try B-50. As far as multivitamin, I was told either flintstones complete or Centrum chewable (they made sure to say not to get centrum silver for some reason). GNC.com has a calcium that is chewable and they are cherry flavored. Be sure calcium contains calcium citrate. gnc.com sells stuff online and I'm sure it could be delivered to korea. the unjury is a good protein powder also. And (although not as much protein) carnation instant Breakfast is good in my opinion Also don't take multi Vitamin within 2 hours of any other supplement or you are taking them for nothing as your body will not absorb it. And not to take your calcium all at once or you body will not absorb it. Example: 8:00am calcium citrate chewable 11:00am multivitamin chewable 3:00pm calcium citrate chewable 8:00pm calcium citrate chewable spread them out throughout the day.

    Protein Shake help !

I like the unjury chocolate with 1 cup skim milk, 1 cup cold coffee and 4 splenda packets. You can't taste the coffee, but I like the caffeine. I've also read that you can add some powdered milk to skim milk to make it have more Protein. this is also good: 1 plain yogurt then use yogurt contain to measure milk and juice: 1 yogurt container of milk 1 yogurt container of orange juice or sunny delight 1 pkg carnation instant Breakfast french vanilla 2-4 packets splenda (optional) using the orange juice, it tastes like a dreamsickle I use a Blender Bottle (look it up on amazon.com) and it really mixes everything up nicely.
  19. Very happy for you! Good luck!

    Scales

I was told to get tanita scales that also do bmi, I've not researched them but they are supposed to be very accurate
  21. I started with a seminar January 2010 and already had sleep study. Had blood work. Had to do a psych eval and 6 months of monthly visits to either pcp or nutritionist. Had to go to one support group. Had to have physician documentation of the past 5 years of being overweight. July 14 is my 6 of 6 monthly appointments then finally my paperwork can be submitted to insurance. Then I can be nervous while waiting for (hopefully) my approval. It's a long slow process for many and it makes you patient if nothing else. Good luck and hope your process goes smoothly.

    Cigna Insurance

I have Cigna also. My friend has the same insurance as me and it took 1 week. I am hoping my approval comes fast also. Good luck!
  23. Look up "plus size thrift store" or something similar. I happily found there are 3 in my area.
  24. Wow! Sorry for this stress. Your sister in law is out of line. I too wonder if she is either overweight but maybe smaller than you. Or the skinny one in the family and you make her feel better about herself by being overweight. Also, stay away from all those different scales lol. Use the same scales at the same time of day wearing the same type of clothing, or nothing at all. Stay strong!
