4th Fill this Week - Please tell me overeating will stop
cntryheart posted a blog entry in Blog 85611
I was filled on 1/6/2010. So far I have had 3 fills with 1cc each. I have lost 23 pounds to date, but it is VERY slow for me. Most of that weight loss was from pre and post op. I don't think they do a very good job preparing people for how long it takes to get to that "sweet spot" that you know you have a restriction in place and working.:rolleyes2: I am still waiting for that restriction that will not allow me to continue to overindulge. I am told it will come. Right now there are some foods, mostly chicken or some noodles that will get stuck and I can not eat them. What I am really curious about is what is the lucky number of cc's that will get me to that magic "won't over eat" number? Right now, I can still eat way too much portion size. Most people tell me at some point I will only be able to eat about 2 - 4 ounces at a time. I am very eager to be able to feel that. Deb -
Fear of eating in public at times?

It's good for me to hear that it took you 9 months to get your restriction. I am going for my 4th fill and have been very discouraged that I have only lost 23 pounds since January when I had my surgery and most of what I have lost was from Pre and Post Op. I too get nervous eating out. Mostly I order Soup when I can to be very safe. But I am just now getting some food stuck after 3 fills, I just hope that restriction comes soon because I am really struggling with portion control right now. Thanks, Deb -
Anyone spirt a gusher of blood after fill needle removed?

Hi Phil, I don't have an answer to your question and have not experienced that yet. Hope I don't because I would be on the floor! HA HA. Just wanted to see how your progress was going. I am going for my 4th fill next week. So far each time they have just added 1cc. The 3rd fill was the first time I have experienced any food getting stuck. So I guess my restriction is finally working. Up until now, I feel the weight I have lost 23 pounds is pretty due to the surgery and post diet and I have stopped eating bread and soda pop. They keep telling me I am doing good, but have not had any big drops since my surgery, primarily because I can still eat most anything. Chicken has become difficult this last fill. My sister had this surgery and has lost 100 pounds in a year. She keeps telling me it will get better that I just haven't found my sweet spot yet. I'm hoping you will tell me the same as I can still eat way too much portion wise. Take care, Deb -
Hi, I'm new to this. My dad lives in Mt Vernon, TX. I am in Missouri. I get my first fill next week. I am nervous and anxious at the same time. I have lost 17 pounds since my surgery so far. I hope that is good, but now I am eating things I know I shouldn't and the fill will fix that right away. My sister tells me that if we had will power we wouldn't need the fills. She has lost 100 pounds in one year with the banding. Hope the fill is not too painful.
