I really appreciate the responses! I have had my first fill back in March. I am due for another one next week. What type of protien sticks did you find. I haven't been eating a lot of meat because it seems to get stuck. I am going to get some deli meat and see how that works, and also some fish.

I am exactly two months out from surgery and I've lost over 50 lbs!! I am so excited. I have cheated a couple of times, but I've definitely paid the price...fortunately no weight gain though. However, there is a program called Lindora TLC offered through My Lap Band Journey on Lapband.com. I am very interested in this. I was supposed to start on the 8th but I didn't know it started. Has anyone tried this and had success. Please let me know.

So It's True...Haters will emerge as you lose!
titiay30 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I read the material and listened, but I just didn't think it was possible...some people are more comfortable around me as a fat person. I've recently been banded and so far I've lost about 37 lbs (pre and post op diets). I was out the other night and a close friend made mention of my weight. At first it was very nice...wow Teesh you look awesome, you've lost ....I can tell. But then they went on to say how my attitude had changed and I thought I was all that. Don't forget where you came from...don't forget you used to be fat!! What in the world!!! I thought to myself...but you know what....I spoke up and said "I will never forget where I came from...I feel good about my weight loss and each time I drop my outfits and personality are going to reflect the new found confidence....I am not staying fat for you or anyone else." So I just wanted to post that little short to let you all know that it's true...everyone's not going to be happy for you as you lose. Some folks are going to think you're being conceted and stuck up when you start branching out with new clothes and confidence. But don't let it get to you...you don't owe anyone anything but yourself. I've realized, this journey is about me and all that I can squeeze out of my short time here on earth. I want to be healthy and look great, I want kids and a fulfilled life...NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW. Good luck on your journey. -
Oh my goodness...my dh just came home with 10 spicy garlic hooters wings!!! They smell so good...I am only 10 days out from surgery and I am salvating...Somebody send me some encouragement quick!! LOL:ohmy:

It's funny because I hear it all the time. I have a few GF's that are really excited to see me losing weight...but to be honest, those that are not excited can kick rocks!! I am tired of holding on to weight. I am not doing this for any other reason. I had a miscarriage in August due to being morbidly overweight. Now I am almost 32 and have no kids. I want to start a family!! So to h - e - double hockey sticks with those haters... If I am friendless by the time I reach my goal weight, I have you guys and I have my hubby wubby that will love me no matter what I look like!:thumbup: -
St. Louis - Need a Mentor or Support Group
titiay30 replied to Wanjiku's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey there!! I'm in St. Louis. I actually went to Dr. Wagner in South County and he's affiliated with the St. Alexius New Start Program. The program is awesome in that they offer tons of classes and support group meetings. I am not sure what you need to do to join, but you can call 314-865-7000 and ask for the New Start Program. Tell them that Letitia Referred you. It's an awesome experience. I am going to attend the class they have next Monday @9:00 AM. Its about how to make smaller nutritious and satisfying portions. Contact me anytime...send me a personal message or anything...I'd love to have a support partner too. I was banded on 02/08/10 -
Hi Err body! I am in my second week of liquids and I've been drinking Special K protien shakes...they are delicious! However, I feel like they have to many carbs and stuff. Have any of u had them, what are your thoughts?

My Husband Is Driving me Nuts!
titiay30 replied to titiay30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so I'm the OP...on my bb and not signed in. First I have a wonderful husband and we share a lot. But as I previously stated while I'm in my house and doing my thing I'd rather not be surrounded my temptation. Some of those things is what landed me in the OR in the first place. Secondly, I am not a food diva, cry baby, whiner or any of that. I simply thought that I could come on this forum and vent a funny post. Not be publically insulted and called names. For those of u that had constuctive critisms thank u There is a scripture that says "this is the will of God concerning u" this means that each person has a purpose and a way to reach that purpose. Some of us have more willpower than others...we applaud you for that. For those that lack in some area, we have lap band talk. Let's all keep in mind one important thing - we ALL have the lap band because we ALL have issues with food. So please don't even try to position yourself as better bc of skills you've learned over time. I appreciate the comments tho! I talked to hubbie and he understands and at the end of the day I'm gone do what works for me and I expect my man to do what works for me. And I do the same for him. I Iron all his clothes, clean up, wash, support his work, proof his papers - if I can't ask him to help me lose weight - then I have bigger problems. Marriage is a team effort - what works in my house may not work in yours. But as long as you and SO are on the same page, that's all that matters -

My Husband Is Driving me Nuts!

Yes thats true...my fam eats whatever they want. I know this is a journey I am taking alone and I'm fine with that...but we don't have kids and he's the only support I have right now. He even said he felt guilty eating them in front of me (after I posted this and put him on blast!) So hopefully he will understand. That is why my surgeon have family meetings at his office to make sure that everyone is on the same page . To me the lap band does not take away cravings and desires and old habits die hard. Having the support (whatever your definintion of support is) is important (in my opinion) to long term success. I've tried so many diets and things in the past and at first he was in for the long haul with me. But then I find myself gorging just b/c he's eating. MissyMs you're right about one thing, if I can't take it...I will have to channel the craving into something more productive like working out, taking a walk, cleaning, riding my bike etc... You guys are wonderful! Thanks so much -

I definitely don't mind him eating what he wants...but I personally think its torture to eat those kinds of things in my face. Eating sensibly and healthy is not eating disgusgting food...but it definitely shows more support...Wings may not be your weakness...but it's mine and in MY house, I'd prefer not to be around my weakness foods right now lol. So I appreciate your comments and feedback but Hubbie is going to have to eat the wings @ Hooters. -

Yeah, I am going to tell him...I have been cool up until today. But I need to let him know those wings cannot come back in this house. I think its torture. I am not into sabotaging myself. I am healing pretty good AND I've lost 15 lbs since surgery...NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME. I AM MORE THAN A CONQUEROR THROUGHT CHRIST JESUS. Amen. Thanks fam! I love this forum
