Yesterday it happened when I was eating crustless pizza and today it was cottage cheese. I didn't think I had any restriction until this started happening. I thought I had chewed the pizza well enough but I was in a hurry, may not have. Today I was just sitting at my desk eating the cottage cheese and I got the feeling again and it grows increasingly worse before it gets better. When I pb it makes me gage and then I heave a bit. Right now I feel kind of weird like I have a lump in my throat. I have never had any kind of reflux so I wouldn't know if this is what it is. What scares me is it's not only regurgitation but it hurts. Can anyone that has had a slip describe what the symptoms are? I am going to go on liquids for a few days and hope it starts to feel better.

Crustless pizza comes from my Atkins days. I make it two ways. Sometimes I make it on portobello mushroom caps. Scrape out the black stuff, baste with olive oil then bake at 375 for 10 min or so (softens it up) then I add crushed tomatoes seasoned with garlic and basil, bit of salt. Top with low fat cheese and whatever toppings I have around then bake for another 10 min at 425. I also make pizza with this recipe: 4 ounces cream cheese 3 eggs 1/3 cup cream 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 2 cups shredded italian cheese blend 1/2 cup pizza sauce 1 cup of mozzarella cheese Beat together cream cheese and eggs until smooth. Add cream, parmesan cheese, and spices. Blend well. Sprinkle 2 cups italian cheeses into dish. Pour egg mixture over it. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. Spread on pizza sauce. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Pile crust with your favorite toppings. Sprinkle with shredded parmesan cheese. Return to oven and bake until bubbly and golden brown. Allow to stand 10 minutes before cutting. It is great - not quite like good ol' fashioned chicago deepdish but a nice alternative. As far as protien shakes go sometimes I buy them (EAS Carb Control) and other times I make them with frozen fruit or sugar free chocolate syrup, skim milk, unflavored whey powder and splenda. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Bjean: I can relate, I am much more hungry now then I was pre-fill. I am starting to think it's psychological - expecting to have little to no appetite and that is not the case. And I too have that problem with my boyfriend and he counts everything that goes into my mouth. There are moments I want to strangle him!

I had my first fill yesterday with Dr. Curry in Cincinnati. I had myself all worked up that it was going to be horrible. It took 30 seconds max and no pain at all but he uses a topical anesthetic. I have done well staying off the scale throughout the week but had to jump on the scale today and there is another 3lb loss, woohoo!

How soon did everyone start excercising after
MimIN replied to roxy123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am 4 weeks out and started back at the gym last week. I am going 4x a week and today started working with a trainer. I am working with weights combined with cardio. I was told to wait 3 weeks before starting an exercise program and 3 months before any abdominal exercises. It feels great to be out and moving again. -
25 days post-op & I can eat anything - help!
MimIN replied to sweetsue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded 1 month ago and am experiencing the same kind of thing. I find I can eat things that I did not think I would ever eat again. I have to tell myself to stop eating b/c there is no restriction at all, thank goodness I am scheduled for a fill tomorrow. This road is not easy and was a rude awakening when I realized the band is not going to lose the weight that I actually have to put forth effort. When I get cravings for crap food I put my tennis shoes on and walk and walk and think about my goal rather than that piece of cake. I understand where you are at and your concern but hang in there. All of us here have been where you are at one time or another. -
231 this morning for a loss of another 2lbs. Slow but hey, it's consistant:)

I live in Indiana but due to crappy medical insurance I was self pay and went to Mexico. If Insurance had covered it I was going to go to Dr. Keith McEwen in Fishers.

I am 1 week and 1 day from a fill and I am wondering if I am going to make it. I am so hungry ALL THE TIME. My stomach growls so much my coworkers are offering to buy me food just to stop it. It's embarassing my tummy grumbles are loud enough for my whole team to hear. I am eating semi-solid foods but it doesn't seem to hold as I have NO restriction whatsoever. I have to stop myself from eating as I know I could keep going and I don't want to gain any weight back that I've just lost. When I was told the first few weeks are the hardest, they weren't kidding!

I am down 2lbs.

I didn't tell anyone I work with including my boss. It really isn't any of their business and if it doesn't hinder your ability to do your job I wouldn't bother...

I am fat because I have an eating disorder. I went through the binge and purge stage, then just the binge stage. I eat at night mostly and usually carb loaded crap until I feel like I am going to burst. Food was always my escape, when I felt bad I would binge and purge, when I was happy I would binge and so on. My body was so confused that it just held onto everything I put into it. I addressed these issues with a councelor and my PCP who referred me to the band. So far so good two weeks in and with their help over the last year I am on the road to recovery.

2 weeks after surgery & I can eat anything
MimIN replied to ratgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I too am just about two weeks out and am starving. I have introduced cottage cheese, humus and yogurt and at no point do I feel satisfied or 'full'. My stomach is always growling and I too was wondering if a fill is possible before the 6 week mark. -

Hi all, I recently joined bandland on Sept 27th. I would love to join the Christmas challange if it's not to late to jump in.
-
Dr. McEwan is such an awesome Dr, you are lucky! I was to be banded by him but I lost my insurance battle:( I did however find a fantastic alternative and also joined bandland on the 27th.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I'm very excited at the weight loss. So far it is a combined pre-op and post-op loss but seems to be falling off quickly!
