Hello Fellow Bandsters,I have had my Lap Band(TM) for a while now.  I am joining this forum for advice and support.I lost 40 pounds prior to surgery over a 20-week period on the OptiFast Liquid Diet Program.  It was horrible.  According to my surgeon, this was mandatory for me before he would consider the lap-band surgery.  I had to lose 10% of my body weight first.  My first day on the program was July 20th and my last day was on Thanksgiving 2008.  I had my original surgery on 12/15/2008. After six months of struggling with no weight loss and no loss of appetite, my surgeon scheduled a fluoroscope.  It was discovered that my tubing had been kinked since surgery.  No saline was getting down to the band for six months.  A second surgery was performed on 6/12/2009.  This was not done laparoscopically much to my disappointment (nice scar though). The tubing was pulled out through the surgery site un-kinked and put back in.  Another eight months has gone by and I still have not lost any weight, and my appetite is ridiculous.  The amount of food I can eat is ridiculous!  I had an appointment today for a fill.  My band holds 14cc currently (we think) it has 10.5 cc in.  I talked with my doctor today about my frustration.  He will schedule another fluoroscope to see if anything else has occurred.  I am reaching out to you folks for support.  I am extremely frustrated right now.  I did not want the Gastric Bypass (adamantly) now I wish I had that surgery.  I am wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences with the band/fill issues??Hope to hear from you soon.Thanks.
