It means that I am moving our thread up so people can see it at the top instead of getting lost on another page. Making sure new Nov bandsters can find it easily

Hi Karen, I can already feel my muscles aching a bit... but it was worth it! Yes, I agree, banding at this time shows commitment!:clap2:

I know what you mean...i was treated poorly by Dr. Rumbault's U.S. staff, but I know the MX staff is Much nicer...anyway, it got so bad...they even insulted me over the phone...so I changed docs and now my surgery will be in Mexicali instyaead. The people there are soooooooooo sweet!!! I am sure Dr. R is excellent, but the staff here inthe U.S. ruined it. I'm glad things turned out Ok. for you!!! -
WELCOME new Nov. bandsters!!!:clap2: :clap2: :canada: :welcome:

well..... I went for a 4 mile moderate hike today...in Mill valley, a trail that takes you from the inner bay and you think you have to hike huge hills to get to the ocean, but this taril takes you through very small hills to the ocean in two miles! It is sooooo beautiful! It had been a while since I had gone ther. If anyone in Cali is interested it is the Tennessee Valley trail. Only a few people know about it. Most people avoid it since they think they have to do mountain hiking for hours to get there. 4 miles! :clap2: My legs are sore already. After we went to eat...I had breakfast and of course I was doing the last supper thing... I had steak and eggs...still within low carb, but too fatty, and one slice of WW toast with a bit of home made preserves! :omg: Oh well.... it will be ok... Off to the HOT shower! Karen I am sooo excited! I fly to San Diego a week from tomorrow! I bought a little thermos today at Walgreen's perfect for a bandster meal or soup and inside the lid there is a hidden compartment with a spoon...perfect!

Hi...I am a naturopath and I am sure that gas is probably due to similar food than when unbanded, but perhaps a bit more abundant Beano helps and now they sell it in little strips that dissolve in your mouth...take it right before a meal...not after. here are foods to avoid if you have too much gas, you might be sensitive or intolerant to it....dairy(milk, cheese) you hopefully can eat yougurt which will help but make sure it is good yogurt with no sugar in it. Yogurt made with goast or sheep milk is worth the price and you get used to the slightly different taste. Add stevia and a little fruit or squeeze a lemon and stevia and stir and it is lke eating a lemon moouse! Avoid artificial sweetners since they give you gas and are not good for you anyway. Use stevia instead. Avoid chewing gum. You might want to see if you have a problem with wheat and gluten...the majority of people do and don't know it. Some people are sensitive to soy. Beans, broccolli, and cauliflower need to be cooked very well especially with the band. Well this is it for now...I hope it helps!

-
Hi, I am mostly in the SF bay area...Marin Cty. Not too far away!
-
Thanks Karen! How are you doing? Do you have to do a pre-op diet? I did not work today because of a bit of a sore throat...I do not want to get sick before surgery, so here I am... I am going to Trader Joes in a bit to get some airborne and get rid of this almost cold:sick I am also taking extra Vit C.

They can do gall bladder surgery through a laparscopic procedure just like they do the band... so while they are in there they can do both! :-)
-
It might not be the best blood work, but they might not cancel...just put you on a very strict diet and possible meds... I will keep my fingers crossed! NO sugar!!!! NO alcohol!, little fat! LOTS of purified water! Low fat lean protein and cleansing veggies.... Good luck!
-
Hi ya'll...from TX of course!

Hi Moon Goddess, Glad to hear you are doing well! Keep me updated. My surgery is in 11 days!:faint: Been doing my pre-op low carb diet...well sort of... It is supposed to be really strict beginning MOnday...anyway I weighed myself and I have lost 5 lbs!!! Maybe my body knows it is getting banded and it is cooperating! Ususally the most I would lose would be a 1-2lbs in a week if I was lucky! Everyone else continued good luck!! Anyone else from Austin besides MoonGoddess and me? -
I guess if it is just a little bit it is OK...I do not have to be on a liquid diet, just very low carb to shrink the liver... it would be best if it is not canned due to high sodium. Boil some chicken with NO skin and make a soup/broth. Just a few oz. a day... but keep on the optifast...the trick is the NO carbs and low fat!... Try to stick to what they tell you as much as you can! It is important.
-
Hi! I can't believe I lost weight on my pre-op low carb diet this first week!!!!!!!! I weighed myself this morning and I went from 226 down to 221!!!
-
WOW Chris!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome!! Thank you! By the way everyone I switched docs...I am now with Dr. Aceves
