  1. I was also told not to lift anything heavier than about 5lbs for 3 months. Or lift weights or do abdominal exercises. Walking and light arm weights for exercises are fine...the little ones! Also, due to infflamation you should have some restriction...I know i s till do have some and it has been since Nov, 7! I am just now getting down a few very mushy foods, but mostly still on anything I can drink through a straw. I do not feel real hunger because I am eating lots of Protein now,,,I add extra Protein powder to my shakes. smoothies and smoothie ice creams that I make. I also add protein to unsweetened yougurt and a bit of fruit and stevia to sweeten...yummy and good for you! If you can get the low fat greek style yogurt it feels like you are really sinning! I also have added a bit of powdered unsweetened cocoa powder to yougurt or smoothies and feel like I am sinning , but I am not! So now that I am at 60 grms of protein or a bit more...I feel good:clap2: Also, I am using a baby spoon to eat these things and it takes time and I feel satisfied. Anything too chunky I still cannot eat...and I am not supposed to... so hang in there you will do great!

You are so beautiful!! It got a bit worst with me...actually I have a what I thought was totally remitted MS which I did on my own using ALL holistic means...well I was a bit nervous about the surgery bringing out symptoms...and it finally did!:faint: Right leg weakness and cramping, inability to move leg well, etc. I panicked!!!! I called my cousin who is an MD he prescribed something to help...I had not taken any pharmaceutical anything in five years!!! Now I just need to get going as soon as possible on my all natural everything again...NO sugar free anything...unless I use a natural sweetner like stevia. I also need to find good qUAlity liquid Vitamins. It shoudkl be better soon!

    November Bandsters!

Most docs prefer the first two weeks to be liquid so it can heal better and prevent a future slippage of the band. preferably 4, but very soft mushies on 3rd week are OK. Try to make things as mushy as possible for now... Docs are all so diferent!

Pudding is too thick just out of surgery. You need to DRINK you food. Protein is really important so make smoothies with a good protein powder and make sure you can drink them with a straw. I was banded Nov. 7 and I can now finally get down a moderately thick smoothie/protein drink. Make sure also it has lots of viatmins and minerals. water in between. Good luck! For the gas get chewable GAs X at the drugstore it really helps and also walk. Take care!!!

Have you been able to have a BM? If not, Milk of Magnesia works gently. Also, inflammation from surgery can make you retain fluid...I was slow also... I had to remember this time is for healing and not losing weight.

    November Bandsters!

Dear Cassandra, I am here! Thanks for noticing. I hope you will feel better soon. Also use a xylitol based nasal spray...all natural, I use it and it works wonders...it is a natural antiviral...xylitol by the way is also used as a sweetner. You can get it at Whole Foods or Viatmin Shoppe if you have one near you. Let me know how you feel ina couple of days. I have been a bit under the weather. I think I was not getting enough nutrition and since Wed. my legs felt like rubber...i could not walk very long. Yesterday I felt a bit better so walked to the mall with my Mom, slowly... shopped a bit. Sat down for a low cal, low carb mocha... stood up and I thought I was going to faint...couldn't really walk. My sister had to go and get a wheelchair and they wheeled me to the car...I was so embarrassed! Got home and my mom made me a substantial chicken and broccoli soup and blended it really well and I drank a big bowl. i also drank a protein drink with lots of vitains and mineral. Since I have not been able to take my usual vitamins and supplements I think my body went into shock also. Today my TOM appeared...that does not help...inflammation on top of post-surgical inflammation!:faint: Other than that, I have taken brief looks at the board only... I am not at home and have to use the computer at my mother's building business center. Karen...Good thing we did not make plans...I would not have been able to make it at all! Hope everyone is Ok
  14. last night I tried to eat a little applesauce thinking it would be almost a full liquid.... oh no...I think I had my first feeling of something stuck there...it was sooo uncomfortable...I tried burping and nothing....moved around and finally was able to burp and felt a little better...it was scary, I do not want to damage the band.... :faint: :help: Those of you who are allowed mushy food after just a few days post-op, what can you eat, and does it go down ok? I am trying to stay with a combo of clear and full iquids including some blended Soups. It makes me nervous to even eat yougurt or pudding even though I have, but I do Water it down a bit. is pudding a full liquid or a mushie? Can I damage the band at this stage if my smoothie has blackberry seeds init? should I starin it?
  15. Today I went walking and after 2 blocks, my legs felt like Jello. I had to walk very slowly and take breaks and got home and had a Protein shake,,,that helped. I hope I can feel normal again in a couple of days...walk several blocks...

Brooksie...wow 20lbs in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Awesome! Do not worry..you are obviously doing very well!!! try to have more protein...it keeps hunger away no sugar, sugar makes you very hungry! have sugar free ice cream if you really want some! have at least 60g of protein you will see you will not feel hungry.
