    Too big of a fill?

Went in at 1:00 and they took out 1/2 cc. Went back to work and still didn't feel the best. Went home - called the doctor at 3:30. Went back in. Under fluoroscope - found out still too much. Took out anoth 1/2 cc. Felt better. Now I must be swollen and nothing still wants to go down. Will call the doctor again in the morning if I can't drink by then. Who would of thought the second fill would be so hard.

    Too big of a fill?

Called the doc. going in at 1:00 for a little unfill. Thanks all. D
  3. Happy Memorial Day, everyone. Enjoy your friends and family.:cursing:
  4. I have a question for everyone!! Do you count in your head when you are chewing? I do, I am constantly counting to 30. Hopefully, not everyone does this. I have a things with numbers anyway so it could just be me. I just want to make sure that I chew my food really well and not have problems. Have a great day. We are all doing so well!!!!!
  5. NewLife41 I didn't feel that I had any restriction after my surgery either. I could pretty much eat anything just not real large quantities. I didn't lose any weight from my first post-op to my first fill but the doctor's office said that is normal. Now that I have had my first fill, I can definitely tell that I have restriction. Good Luck. Deena
  6. His staff is the best. They are so welcoming and nice. Couldn't ask for better care. I wish all doctors' offices ran that way.
  7. I had my first fill on Thursday and I still am only on liquids. The NP said that I could try soft foods last night, but that didn't go so good. So, I have just been doing Protein shakes for the next day or so. I can definitely tell that I got some restriction from this fill. I am sure that it won't last long I will appreciate it while I have it.
  8. I got my first fill today. Didn't hurt a bit. The NP told me that I had 2 cc already "primed" in my band and added another 2 cc. I go back in 3 weeks for another fill. My doctor doesn't like to wait too long between fills. No weight loss, but no gain either. Great day.!!!!!!!!
  9. Every day I take 32 ounces of Green Tea to work with me to drink during the day - well last week it spilled. I didn't have a lid for the glass I was using. So, I bought a new container and it looked like a big sippy cup. There was a straw in there so you could drink easily. I had forgotten that I shouldn't drink with a straw. For the last two days I have had terrible gas pains. It doesn't come up and it doesn't go down. I have been taken Gas-X strips but they really aren't helping. I really wish I had remembered the no straw rule. I am now off of straws. Maybe later I will be able to try again, but not anytime in the near future. I feel very bloated and gross.

    No Straws!!

I feel better today, but there was definitely a lot of work on my part to get rid of the gas pains. I walked. I took Gas-X strips again. I took a hot bath. I pushed on my stomach and then put a heating pad on my stomach. This morning when I woke up I was only a little bloated. I really didn't think straws would bother me, but I think because I drank 64 ounces for two days straight it was just too much. My doctor said no straws, but said if I had to I could try and see how I did. For me, it is too much. Oh well, that is a small sacrifice for the reward at the end. Have a great day everyone. :w00t:
  11. Yesterday I was so hungry. I have my first fill on Thursday and it cannot get here soon enough. I have not lost any weight since my first post-op, but was told that was probable. I am okay with that. Just want to get a fill and feel a little restriction. I know everyone is different and I am amazed how well everyone is doing. I wish that I had lost a little more than NONE but I have been doing what I am supposed to. Everyone keep up the good work.

It seems that everyone is busy with their new lives. May is incredibly busy for me. I know that I haven't been on as much as I would like. I get my first fill next Thursday the 20th. Very excited. I am getting hungry and have been trying to not eat more than I should. We really do need to start a thread on the "Post" side. If no one does it in the next day or two I will start one and post it on this thread. Have a great weekend everyone. Deena :w00t:

I went for my post op yesterday. I have lost 20 pounds since pre op. Pretty excited that they moved me up to soft foods and more. I get my first fill on May 20th. So looking forward to that since I don't really feel much restriction yet at all. Hopefully, with the first fill I will feel some restriction.

    Days Off

I had my surgery on Tuesday. I am sitting at work now, wishing that I hadn't come in. It is doable, but not really where I want to be right now. Definitely wear loose clothing and take off a week if you can. D

Rubie, I was banded yesterday. I feel worse today than yesterday, but I also switched to Liquid Tylenol instead of the pain medicine. I don't like how I feel with that medicine. I have only had minor pain in my shoulder if at all. I do feel sore all over as if I over did something. I guess I am achy. I am not hungry at all. I am on clear liquids today. I added a protein shot to my water and am drinking it. I can drink as if I wasn't banded. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to drink much but don't feel any kind of restriction. I hope that you are doing okay. Take it easy. Deena

Hi everyone. I got home from the surgi-center about 11:00 and have napped on and off in the recliner since then. I have no shoulder pain from the surgery - so I am very happy about that. I had that before and it can be brutal. Only thing that hurts is the port incision. Drinking my "sips and chips" until tomorrow. I will write more about the actual time-line for the surgery tomorrow when I feel a little more coherent. I hope that everyone who had surgery today is feeling as good as I am. Deena

My date is finally here. I get banded tomorrow morning at 8:00. I have to be there at 7:15. Can't believe that it's really going to happen.
  20. Lilhoot good luck with your journey. Although disappointing not to get the surgery what a blessing that they found you had a problem early on. Now it can get fixed and you can move on. On LAP-BAND® vs Gastric - aren't we fortunate that there is more than one option available to us. Both just try to get us healthier. Technology is a great thing and it is always debated and we are free to debate it. God Bless America. Everyone have a great weekend. It is truly a beautiful spring day here in Central Illinois. Deena

Everyone seems to be doing so well. I look forward to having the same results. Congratulations to all who have had their surgery. Godd luck to those still waiting.
  22. I think that most surgeries are done out-patient anymore. When I have my gallbladder out I had surgery at 9:00 and was home by 3:00. Same thing happened with ovary removal. There is more of a risk of infection in the hospital than at your home. MRSA - keep that away from me. My doctor told me that my surgery is at 8:00 and I should be home by 10:30. Like pre-op diets, each doctor has his own way of doing things. Good luck. Everything will turn out great. Deena

    April 13th is my day

I am April 13th also. On my 7th day of pre-op diet. Tomorrow we are only one week away from a new beginning. What a great journey we are all about to take. Good Luck. Deena
  24. Thanks for all your kind thoughts. I did ask if anyone else wanted to do it, but there aren't many cooks among my sisters. I made it through, though - and no problems and no temptations. Too busy cooking and then too busy setting up and then too busy cleaning it all up. Not really the challenge I thought it would be. I did not sit down at the dinner table thoHappy Easter ugh I just walked around and talked to everyone, It was much easier that way for me. Less than two weeks until my surgery. Can't believe it, time is flying. Happy Easter to everyone. Deena
  25. This will be quite the challenge. I am definitely a cook and taste kind of cook and tomorrow that will not be possible. I hope that I can be strong and get through this. I wish one of my sisters would of stepped up and offered to cook the meal. But since my mom passed away in 1999 I have cooked every holiday meal. I have the motivation, I really don't want to cheat, it;s just that when I get cooking I multi-task and hope that I don't slip. Oh well, I can only do my best. Will keep my son in the kitchen with me to help a little. Everyone, have a great Easter.
