    Great job!
  5. I had to do a 6 month supervised diet/ insurance requirement before I could have the surgery. This has been a LONG journey since Feb. to get the surgery. It does go by fast though, I promise!

    Social Life Post Op

Yes for sure! Most of the time when I get together with friends, its over lunch or meeting for dinner. They all understand and we have been doing things non-food related.

How is everyone doing with their multivitamins daily? The ones I have by baratric advantage are OK, I feel like I'm eating grape flavored tums sometimes, but I'm chewing them down.

I don't have port pain per say, but the incision for the port is very painful, if I do too much bending, it starts to get very very sore.

I could not stomach the meal replacement powder shakes that I did pre-op. I had my follow up today and bought the ready to drink, PureProtein shakes in chocolate peanut butter and cookies and cream. Much more tolerable than the powder.
  13. Did you blend the ricotta bank together? Also, did you puree the beans and egg salad?
  14. If you search through the other forums here, there is a nutritionist one that has a lot of great recipe ideas.

    August Rush in bandland!

I had my post-op appointment w/ my Dr. today. He said everything looks good. I can start pureed foods Tuesday and I scheduled my 1st fill for Sept. 3rd. I go in monthly to visit and discuss fills/unfills to get to my sweet spot. I asked him about the pain I'm having right in the middle and he said it was from the retractors with the liver and should go away in the next couple of days. Keep walking to get the rest of the gas out. I was also cleared for exercise, no limit, which is exciting! I can't wait to start Couch to 5K. I was given the Ok to move to ready to make Protein shakes and bought a few by Pure Protein they have 35g of protein in each shake. So, I think I'm on my way! How's everyone else doing?
  16. I am 10 day post-op with the same hiatal hernia repair and I still have problems w/ my left shoulder & my rib cage with deep breathes. I go in for my post -op follow up today with my dr. and I'm going to ask him about when we I should feel some relief. Congrats on the band, welcome to the otherside!!
  17. Amanda,

I'm feeling pretty good, I'm 8 days out now. I'm going in for my post-op follow up tomorrow, so we'll see what the doctor says!

  18. Congrats on your success!

    August Rush in bandland!

I was given Mylicon (sp) it's a liquid medication that is used mostly in infants. That did help me along with the gas-x strips. Honestly, it took me over 6 days to start to feel better from the gas. Last night 7 days post-op I slept in my bed for the 1st time. That is how I felt about chicken broth, I started gagging a few days in. My doctor is following a strict diet - Clear liquids for 7 days after, then 7 days of full-liquids, then to pureed. I see him tomorrow so I'm hoping I can move on soon. Best of luck!
  20. Best of luck! I'm 8 days post-op and doing well. The 1st few days can be rough, but once you get over that everything starts to fall into place.
  21. Congratulations! You are an inspiration!

    Another soup question...

I haven't had any other soup yet besides Tomato, Butternut Squash and Red Pepper and Tomato soup. I haven't even thought of doing Soups other than creamy soups. LOL, I'm so afraid to go off of my provided list from my dr.
  23. So I'm 8 days post op and I started my full-liquid diet yesterday. My instructions say to eat 1/2 cup of strained creamy soup. I'm finding I'm still hungry or at least I think I am still hungry but I don't want to eat more if I'm going over my 1/2 cup. Did most of you eat more than the alloted amount given?
