    August Rush in bandland!

Going in for my 3rd fill today! I am hoping to get the restriction at this point. I have 3 cc's in my band now, and I "hope" I get 2 more. I do not have much restriction at all and I'm hungry all the time. I am really watching what I am eating and I eat small portions, even though I am getting full. I have been working out 3x a week at least and walking as much as possible. I was nervous at my last fill because I had dropped 6 lbs and I thought they were not going to give me a fill. My doctor's office is not like that. She said, are you still hungry, then you get a fill. I am HOPING to get to my sweet spot after today's fill and start really seeing some results! Best of luck to everyone!

    August Rush in bandland!

Awesome, I'm jealous! I have 3cc's now, 2 my 1st fill and 1 my 2nd. I go in on Oct. 5th for my 3rd fill. I'm hoping I get 2 more - I do not believe I feel any restriction. I do get full faster, but I have to stop myself from eating opposed to the other way around. Best of luck! Hopefully we can get there soon

    Fill question

I would give it another day to see if you are still having problems and then contact your doctor. Also, does your dr. give you restriction after fills? I have to go back to full liquids for 2 days then mushies before I can introduce "regular" foods again.

    What's for Breakfast?

I eat 1 packet of regular instant cream, cook it with milk and then add 1 teaspoon of honey and 1/2 a banana cut up.
  6. I had my 2nd fill today - an additional 1cc, so I'm totally 3cc's in a 10cc band. I just drank some water, it went down fine, but it feel like it was gurgling in my stomach? Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal?

    Couch to 5K ?

I am finishing my Week 2 Day 3 tomorrow and moving onto Week 3. I can not believe how well I am doing in this program! I do feel like I could run more than the alloted time, but I am trying to stay strict with the program. I can not wait until I complete my 1st 5K! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

Betsy, Thanks for this website! The recipes look amazing!
  11. I have been working SO hard towards my 1st fill. I have been eating so well, really watching everything that goes in my mouth, I have been running a consistently at least 3x a week with walking and family outings on the weekends. I have dropped 21 lbs since my sugary on 8/3 but I have platued and haven't see it move in 2 weeks. I am SO looking forward to my fill to help me get to where I am seeing a difference with the scale. Anything I should be prepared for with my 1st fill? My PA told me I need to follow a liquid/mushy diet for 3 days after my 1st fill and then should be good to go.

    My 1st fill tomorrow!!

I just got back. When well, it did feel weird I have to say, and she did not numb the area at all. Took a minute for her to find the middle of the port. She pulled out some air and then put in 2cc's. Water went down fine and was told to do full-liquid for 2 days, 1 day of mushys and then good to go.

    Had my first fill today!!!

Congrats on your fill! I had mine today too. She took out some air that was in my band 1st and then put in 2cc's today. I go back in 2 weeks for an additional 1 - 2 cc's depending on how I do. Here's to a new us!
  14. I'm in it right now! I go for my 1st fill today and I'm exactly 1 month post op. The past week has been very challenging for me to get through the days because I still have that hungry feeling shortly after eating. I am hoping to get relief today, however, I know most people don't really feel anything until the 2nd or 3rd fill.
  15. Happy 4 Month Anniversary! Looking forward to having the same goals met soon
  16. It's ALL my fault. I was chatting with my boss this morning and eating pieces of hard boiled egg and didn't realize I must have been eating fast and larger pieces. I started getting pressure in my chest and felt the PB coming on. I went into the bathroom and it came right up and everyone is right, it's like mucus like. I walked a bit and still had that feeling, so again went into the bathroom PB again and felt better. I can tell you right now, I never EVER want to have that happen again so I will be really diligent and careful about size and speed of food. BLAH!
  17. jamelyn1979

    How do you PB????

Has anyone ever tried papaya enzyme chewable pills? My doctors office swears up and down to use these if you have food stuck etc. to help break everything down.

First Fill under my belt FINALLY...

Hi Amber, My 1st fill is the 1st and he told me they typically put in 3cc's, I have no idea how big my band is, do you? I am starting to get really hungry as well, but really make the right food choices and my running has really made me feel good. How are you doing?
  19. jamelyn1979

    Yay, first fill!!

Good luck! My 1st fill is scheduled for Friday the 3rd. I'm having the same feelings

    Couch to 5K ?

How did you find running on the treadmill? I'm joining the gym this weekend and will be doing my couch 5k that way opposed to running outside? Do you find yourself having problems switching it up between the intervals? Do you keep a steady walking level and just run over the speed?
  21. Hey, how are you holding up ?

  22. jamelyn1979

    Couch to 5K ?

I've had knee surgery on my right knee and when I started running again, my doctor said to just nurse if it's starting to bother me and I also started doing some yoga stretches that have helped.
  23. I will be one month post op on Sept. 3rd. My 1st fill is scheduled for that day. I have been on mushy foods for about 3 days now and I seem to be doing fine. I feel a little bit more hungry at this stage, but with getting in 1 or 2 protein shakes a day with my other foods, I seem to be doing well. I have been tracking my calorie intake on myfitnesspal.com mainly to keep my protein on track and I have been around 700-900 calories and have been exercise 3x a week with running. I see no weight loss. I lost 20 lbs initially and have stalled. My clothes are definitely looser, even to the point where I need to go down a size in a lot of them, but the scale hasn't moved. Is it because I'm not getting enough calories? My protein intake is anywhere from 70-100 grams a day. Will things be different after my fill? I feel like I'm working very hard and do feel good w/ my loose clothes, but wishing the scale would move. Thanks for your input!

    yogurt w/protein!

I've never tried those. I eat Chobani plain non-fat with 1 packet of splenda. It has 18g protein in a 6oz container
  25. jamelyn1979

    What is this??

Is it possible you are eating too fast? I had salmon last night (1/3 of the fillet:blink:) and some 5 asparagus tips and it literally took me 30 minutes to eat just that. I hate very small pieces of everything and I stopped after 30 minute and was fine. No problems with shallowing.
