  1. Hi, I live in Orem and was banded almost 3 weeks ago. I am loosing weight now because I can't think on anything to eat so I eat very little. Not good to get into such a habit because you get discouraged too quick. Just wondered if anyone has any good ideas for the mushie stage, still have a week left. Sometimes when others tell about things to buy and try they name places only back east, if you know what I mean. I would love the hear from anyone here in utah. :confused:

    flying: will I fit.

    I am flying to hawaii on thursday. the first part is in a little puddle jumper. I am having serious anxiety attacks. I weigh 300 pounds. at 280 I could fit without an extension. what if I can't get the armrest down because of my spread. I just want to cancel it rather than put up with the embarrassment. anyone out there had this problem. I would feel better if I knew someone who was 400 pounds was able to fit... any help or info appreciated.

    flying: will I fit.

    do I buy an extender or get one at the gate checkin or what? I have been reading some real nasty stuff on the net from people who think fat is discusting (how do you spell that) I have been overweight most of my adult life and I have never felt so awful until now. at age 30 I would of just walked on up and said of course I fit. now at 60 I would just crawl away. I think between now and then I need to get my family to do an intensive build up mom class. thanks I appreciate the advice.

    hello all, I been reading part of the page and thinking I need to get back. not many of us writing here anymore. i like the good old days. You know most of us were still trying. I really thought this would be a no brainer. pay 14,000 and get skinny. with out trying? who was I kidding. I just want the food addiction to go away. I guess I could be additcted to drugs, sexx, etc. well, i have gained and lost since last summer and I am still the same. so I guess that the band is helping. THINK POSITIVE SANDY love you guys. you have been my salvation....

    Hi, I would like to go to the support group but I have parent teacher conferences. Let me know what it is like. Can 't believe it has been a year and I haven't gone to a support group since the first three. my weight loss has turned into a gain. for some reason I thought this would be the answer but It still depends on me and my strength and willpower. darn.. I would really like to talk to someone. I am sorry about you dad Karen. I lost mine two years ago. I guess it is the age when that happens. It still feels strange and lonely. Wow all that moving. Where are you living now? I am still in Orem and hope to stay here until I retire in 5 or so years.

    Thanks, I really appreciate your remarks. It does help to put things in perspective. I have a support group at my doc but it is 45 miles away and I haven't gone since the first required 3 months. I need to do that.. I also need to go back to exercising. I will come back and quite sabatoging my self.. :kiss2::confused:

    hello all, sorry about my absence. I seem to have given up. the same old stuff after every other diet. I am down 60 pounds most of that in the first 3 months. I gained back 10 pounds since the first of July. It is true that we can eat alot at a meal but what happened to my will power all the rest of the day..... sorry this isn't more up beat. I really think that over eating is an addiction. and I am in the middle of an extreme case of it. I hope I will keep trying, I hope I will start again. I am so sad. I don't want to be addicted to food or anything else. sorry for the down.. sandy

    sorry to be so slow. this summer is crazy. my weight is up 2 pounds this week. I knew 10 was too much to loose .. anyway. do you all still receive notices when someone writes on this thread? I don't get any notices anymore. any ideas what I can do? notices are nice because it reminds me to check in.

    Hi everyone, I am back from my long, long vacation. We went to Ohio to visit my son and his wife and 2 kids. And when we left they were separated. so anyone want me to visit their house. it was long in coming but i wish they would of waited until we left. Then we went to georgia to look up people. genealogy.. We went to the archives in Morrow, then waynesboro where my family is from, Augusta, then in SC and north augusta and columbia. by this this time we were so tired to searching old books etc. so we went to Jamestown, williamsburg and Stratford Hall (all in virginia) I am a direct decendant to Richard Henry Lee, a signer of the declation of independence and this was his family home. We then went to visit our son in Leesburg virginia . they are not separated. they have 5 children.. one a newborn baby boy to join his 4 sisters. We went to DC one day. whew, AND I LOST TEN POUNDS ON MY VACATION. UNBELIVEABLE. MUST OF BEEN ALL THAT SIGHTSEEING IN THE HEAT. so I during this last challenge I went from 260 to 248. down 12 pounds. I hope I am on a roll now. I am tired of the up and down, up and down etc. I am up for another challenge. Happy 4th to all. so glad to be back.... Sandy

    I would like to ditto what others have said. I appreciate what everyone has contributed to this thread. I too feel lost by myself but seem to keep going knowing you all are trying also. I admit I wish I was as good as Tami and Mim but who knows I may yet.

    Finally checking in after two weeks. school is done, over kput.... I can breathe. Went to the doc today. lost 3 pounds last month. they gave me .1 cc. funny they said it was the size of a tear drop... anyway. I basically now weigh 154 I am down 6 pounds from the time we started the 4th of July challenge. down 6 is better than up 6 Well, I need to meet my husband so I will check in later in the week. I can't get my signature to change. I keep trying but no luck.

    Oh, I forgot to ask. first of all I need to buy a lap top. any suggestions. my hubby doesn't want mac. but we don't have a clue. we are using it to do family history. now that brings me back to the other question. I am flying into Atlanta, going to waynesboro, augusta, and Columbia SC. from there we are driving to DC. besides staying in a library all day we want to see some history.. anyone live or been in this area of south. what should be see? sandy

    Hello everyone, thought I would check in. Wow, just watching the Jazz. started off bad in Calif. just went ahead. Hope they do well. It gets so exciting... can't breathe.. funny how games make you excited. I even yell at the screen. anyway. weight is still the same. up and down 3 pounds. down 64 right now but I ate alot of candy at school today.. and other bad bad stuff. even after that I had pizza for dinner. oh well. welcome to all I haven't said hi to yet. summer coming soon hopefully we that are dr hansen patients can make his meetings and meet. I am going back east this summer. to ohio, georgia and dc. I am so excited. I will fit into a seat without a seat extender.. yeah sandy

    do you all remember how many of us started out on this site in September? I wonder what happened? unfortunately I think it is that they are not succeeding or maybe on a happier note they are doing wonderful and don't need us. I am down 1 this week. I just need to not gain this coming week. I think I am going to go to a psychologist and have weight loss discussions. on why I get so out of control a sabotage myself. I am also going to do curves when I get out of school . I have 14 school days left. wow I have never counted until now. I better get on the ball and get my special ed paper work going faster...... I hope you all have a wonderful week. sandy
  19. Hello everyone, I have a question.. How do you keep up your will power. I now know that this is not a quick fix. and the band does stop me from eating so much. but I find times I cannot stop picking and eating sweets or salt or whatever. I understand that this is a live long struggle, but does anyone have any advice?

    hello all, I am up 2 pounds this week. big difference when you don't exercise. on my chart MinIN I should be plus2 down 4 and down 1 and then plus 2 this week. well time to do school work.. getting to be the end of the year.. I want you all to know I have been passing down some of your advice to my daughter. she seems more in control. I hope so she goes to mediation on Wed. My youngest daughter and I are taking the day off to go and clean her house and fix her dinner. she will be in a tizzy when it is over.. any time she is with the master manipulator she ( the one with the sweet disposition) comes out on the bottom.

    Hello all I am down 1 pound this week. I decided not to go in for fill this week. I am pretty restricted. Can't eat much. If I would stop picking at food I would probably loose alot. I am working on it. first thing to do is dump out the M&Ms at school. that is my plan for tomorrow. I hope everyone is well. Hey, has anyone heard from April lately. Did they have to take her band out? (it was April wasn't it)
  22. Hi my name is sandy. I started at 320 and I am now 257. It has been 7 months. the majority of the weight came off before christmas. Getting the band put me into diet mode. but now it is a struggle. I am finally feeling restriction but in all actuality I could still gain. M&M's, cereal and picking could sabbatoge me. (I am a school teacher who can't spell.) I constantly sabbatoge myself. actually I just wanted to intro myself. I think I might of months ago. what is PCOS? severe PMS?

    My daughter is also going through a divorce from her high school sweetheart. They married at 21 but he became emotionally abusive. she could do nothing right. She has 5 kids. age 12-4 and it is interesting how calm their house is now that he is gone, yet the kids want their dad back. He also bad mouths their mother. she has one who comes back from daddy disneyland and tell her mom all. good luck lifelongband, it is emotionally trying but your attitude is good and you'll make it. Maybe with the marriage stress out of your life, it will be easier to loose weight.. have you found an on line message board for people who are going through divorce, one that is not negative.?

    I couldn't get through the other day but I lost 4 pounds. the 2 I gained and 2 more. so this week I don't feel like swearing. the zinc thing sounds like a good idea and the horney part would thrill my husband. actually I have been taking zinc and biotin for my hair falling out. didn't notice any s/e/x/u/a/l/ side affects. but I quit taking it for a while so I will have to start again and pay attention. We are all here because we have used food to satisfy SOMETHING. we all have different somethings and most of us can't figure it out. I think it starts that way and then becomes a full fledged addiction. Our bodies are used to craving food wether we need it or not. In my case I do great during school and then on the way home my thoughts are: where can I stop and get something to eat. if I get through that then when I get home it is what can I get to eat, even though dinner is only 1 hour away. I am actually scared for summer because I will be home all the time. I to to meetings and realistically I can understand that I should 1. keep the food out of the house 2. find something to take its place but I haven't been able to do that. that is why I was hoping that the lapband would force me to eat less. At first I was in the initial diet mode we all go in when we are starting a diet.. and it was easy. but now it is hard. I don't like hard. none of us like hard.. So what can we do to help each other???? see what spring break does.. it put me at the computer to get away from food and you have to put up with my continual spouting off at the mouth.. it is 11:34 I am not going to eat anything but water until 1:00 baby steps. notice my s/e/x/u/a/l/ the computer wouldn't let me write it out..
