    September sleeve

How are my fellow September sleeves doing so far? Just had surgery on the 2nd. Today is day four and can transition to full liquids. How has that been for anyone so far?

    17lbs n a month

I felt the same way too! My starting weight was 182 after pre surg diet (pre surg 188). Surgery was 9/2/15 and am at 169. I was feeling bummed that it wasn't coming off faster. But in reality we are doing fantastic!! The scale hasn't moved as fast but my scrub pants are fitting sooooo much better!!! I think you're doing fantastic! Great job!
  3. Did anyone have a different sleeve shape post op? Not the ideal "banana" shape sleeve stomach? Mine actually has a "pouch" above. I'm wondering if this is going to affect my outcome. I was told no and just to really chew everything really well so it doesn't sit in the pouch.

Going good! First day back to work today! I'm a MA so sitting in between rooming patients is helpful. How are you doing??

    Call the Bariatrics police!

Upon reading all of this thread I just have to add this. Most of us have issues making good choices to begin with. Examples are with our health, as in food choices and when to say enough on eating. Most of us had surgery to help us with that. Eating less and eating better. So why do we find it shocking that some choose not so great things still after surgery? I mean YES it is shocking, but is it really? Think about it. If it was easy to make the right decisions on our health, would we be posting on this page or having this surgery? Hopefully with the help of people (doctors, psychologist, NUT and friends) we can LEARN that the choices we make can be destructive (eating, drinking not so good things). But it's all a learning process. Ridding ourselves of destructive bad habits and behavior. Just my two cents.
  6. For sure see you're doctor. I would say milk intolerance but you're cottage cheese seems to be fine. Sometimes after stomach surgery the stomach wakes up and doesn't tolerate milk to well (at least that's been my experience). Call and see what your office recommends. Hope you start feeling better soon!

If you have concerns and fears discuss with your doctor. I'm pretty sure mine erred on the side of caution, as I would hope most would. But like it was stated above, research your doctor. My doctor had actually done three surgeries previous on my, so I completely trust him.

    Time saver!

I found these and just loved them! Also got them in beef broth prior to my surgery.

Taste just like normal chicken broth. Not as good as homemade

Oh yes please ask! Curious as to other doctors take on it. Soft foods day on day 14, so two more days! I'm so excited that I went grocery shopping for such items! I'll be going back to work that day too!

    Is 8oz too much?

In the same boat as you.
  14. I'm 11 days post op and still currently on full liquids. I haven't had a feeling of being full. Is this normal? I eat about 1/4-1/2 cup of soup, or pudding or yogurts and don't feel fullness. Really wondering why and how this is.

    Drains

So one week post op tomorrow and I believe the drain will be pulled. I've had experience with this in the past and almost passed out. Not looking forward to it, but am looking forward to it at the same time. If that makes sense. I know once it comes out healing will progress faster. But I am so not looking forward to the pain! *How was your experience of drains being being pulled if you had any?*

Looking for Lap Band to Sleeve Buddy

Had my band out in February. Sleeves 9/2/15. On full liquid diet now. So far so good. I think I'm doing everything right??? When is your surgery date?

    Getting sleeved 9/2/15. Need buddy

I went band (removed in February) to sleeve and had hiatal hernia repair on 9/2/15. How are things going for you?

When they did the fluoroscopy. Upon reading some post on here I guess it's quite common not to have the full sleeve shape. Scar tissue and possibility of leaks if going to high up with the sleeve. I even waited six months after removing band as to allow stomach to heal. I guess this just means I'm going to have to work a little harder at making sure to work with the new sleeve I do have.
  21. I'm 11 days post op and I fear this!

    Phentermine - Thoughts?

I've been on that prior to sleeve surgery. My DH has been on it and lost a significant amount! Go for it!

    Drains

I laughed at my husbands response as it was coming out! He said I didn't know it was that long! I told him this one was actually shorter than ye the tummy tuck one! It's amazing!
  24. My friend is Cambodian and makes homemade Pho. And she's sending some broth home with my husband. I'm so beyond grateful and excited to have this in my rotation!!!!! Also on another note. I whipped up some SF chocolate pudding with protein powder and lactose intolerant milk (it's a little gentler on the system that's in shock) to thin it out. Yum!! Can't wait to make some other flavors!

    Drains

When I had a tummy tuck done and the drains pulled it stung soooo bad! I was glad this time around the drain wasn't painful at all.
