Hi Lisa, How did you like Dr. Shuemacher? I liked him really well when I met him. He is the one that is going to my daughter and I if and when we get approved. I have BC/BS Federal and we just finished all of our appointments (3) and now they will send it to our insurance company. How long did it take you hear back from your Insurance company? How long were you in the hospital? I have so many questions....since I am using the same Dr. How did you find out about him if you live in Cinn, and why did you choose him? Since you just had it done in Oct, and no fill yet, I am just wondering, do you get hungry? and dose it feel different when you eat? Ok, I will let you reply to all of these questons first.. LOL Thanks and good luck to you on your new life! Debbie

You two must have some big hearts!!!! God will bless you for helping someone else. It's not often that we run across people like you in this world, but when I do it makes me feel good just knowing that there are still some careing and loving people around. Thank you for a good heart and a giving spirit! Good luck on your lap band. I haven't been banded yet but I'm still in the processing stage... LOL :clap2:

Hi, have you had your blood sugar tested? My daughter and I both have low blood sugar, One day after her shower she passed out and ended up falling back into the tub. When she woke up she didn't know how she got there. BUT.... she had not eaten anything that day and that is one of the problems... You have to eat to keep it up. You may have to eat more than 3 times a day to keep your sugar level up. But you still need to talk to you doctor and find out for sure what the cause is. Good luck.

I too am a short woman and everything is way to long on me. I buy my jeans at Khols, they are the gloria vanderbult. They come in a short, which fits pretty well and I am 5'3 but I always have to try them on even if they are the same size in a different color because it seems like they must cut a hundred pairs at the same time and I always pick out the pair that was on the botton and they don't ever fit the same. lOl So try them all on EVERY TIME. As for other pants, I have found dress slacks at Fashion Bug in a short that fit's nicely too. Good luck because your right clothing maker's do think if your a size 24-26 YOU must be at least 6 foot tall! If you find any place else that sales short clothing let me know.

Hi Lisa, I am so happy for you.. I am just waiting for all my appointmens. My daughter and I are both doing it together. You said you have BC/BS..so do I but it is BC/BS federal. I know I have enough health issue's for them to approve me, but I worry about my daughter. Other than being very overweight she is healthy...but not very happy. I just think if she dosen't lose the weight she will have my health problems later in life. We both have appointment on Oct 25th, so keep us in your prayers that we can get the ball rolling in the right direction. Keep up the good work and enjoy your new life. -

Hi everyone... I am still in the process of getting everything done before I can get my band. But I read all the different threads about different things every day. I know this may sounds funny, but I would like to know what all the abbrebiations stand for. Could anyone fill me in on them. Thanks A lot.. -
Hi Angela143, I too am new to this. I just started looking up Dr's in my area and then I went to a few FREE seminars. But if I was self pay as you are I would go to as many as I could and see who was the less expensive.... but ALSO look for a good Dr with good references. I have heard that some of them will cut you a break if you are self pay. I am just getting started, with my appointments.. such as Dietcain, Exercise Physiologist and the regular Physiologist...but not until Oct 25th...so I have a while to go before they even send it to my insurance company. So wish me luck, because my daughter and I both are doing it together. And there is no way we can afford to pay for both of us self pay!! I also have tried everthing under the sun to lose weight. I just turned 50 and I am so fed up with being overweight. This is why I want to try something new to lose it. I am not in the best of health and what time I have left I would love to feel good in my own skin. I think it would also help me to feel better with my health too. This is the most important think to me...FEELING GOOD!! Take care and good luck!

Hi, I am just getting started on my adventure....I have to do the classes first and then they will send everything to my insurance, which is BC/BS Federal. I was so excited, but then I just found out today that I can't do my first class until Oct 25,and then I will have to do the other 2. THEN they send it to my insurance company. I will be having my band at Kettering or Sycamore Hospital. I like Miami Valley Hospital, my son was born there. Oh well, good luck. And has anyone had BC/BS Federal ?? and how long did it take to have approved?? Thanks. I love this site!

Does anyone know where I can get fills in the Louisville area?
DiscoDiva replied to phenry's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
HI, I haven't had my band yet....but I live in Ohio and was at my First Dr's appointment and we were talking about the fills and he said that a lot of the Dr's are unwilling to do another dr's patients. He said he didn't know for sure the reason, but said he will do fill's for anyone that comes to his office, which I thought was wonderful. His Office is in Miamisburg, Ohio. His name is Dr. David L. Schumacher. Kettering Bariatrics. 937-384-6808. I think it would take your around 2 hours to get there from that Part of Ky. Also check out there web site. www. ketteringbariatrics.com Hope this helps you out, if you can't find one closer to your home town. Keep in touch. Looks like we are close in age, and we both have not been banded yet...so when we do get our bands we can compare notes.
