Visible Port Bump After Tummy Tuck?
fire girl replied to xavier's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
That is exactly the question that I have.....I have an appointment with the PS at the end of the month. My port is my major question/concern.....I don't want to pay 7k and have a golf ball sticking out on my flat tummy. I guess the people that have had tummy tucks should be able to help with this information.... -
You look great!!!! I have a question.....Did they have to relocate your port? Can you still feel it (port) ? Can you see it (port)?

Foam/bubbles = high protien.......

After I reached 6cc's - each time I would lose ten pounds I had to have 1 cc taken out because I was too tight....I know - that is a little backwards but that is how it worked wth me too.
-
Don't worry you will get back on track. I have only lost 3 pounds in 7 weeks. Of course I had two sugeries (band slipped) and haven't been able to do any exercise except walk. You will feel better when you get back on track .....you know just how to do it!!!
-
Don't get totally discouraged....I was in my 9th month and my band slipped. I too had a total obstruction. I ate a piece of meat - it wouldn't go down or wouldn't come up. My surgeon did emergency surgery - I thought I might lose my band but he "unhooked" it and left it in place then he went back in about 10 days later and "rehooked" it. Yes I had to have two more surgeries and start all over with liquids, etc. but I still have my band!! I am down 65 pounds and only have about 10-15 pounds to go before I reach my goal.....Wait to Worry!!! whatever it is it can probably be fixed.....it will set you back a bit but you are stong enough to overcome any obstacle that you might have to endure!! Hang tough!

Surgeon Fills Band during Surgery
fire girl replied to cb9094's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor put 2cc in when he installed the band. -
I had the first surgery on September 9, he "unhooked" the band and left it there. Then on September 21, I had the second surgery he went back in and "rehooked" it. I just had a follow up yesterday and he told me I could walk as much as I wanted but no running until at least four weeks out. No weightlifting either until four weeks. I still have about 15-20 pounds to lose....I have only lost one pound since Sept. 9th....that is killing me.....LOL. I agree - I don't want to go thru that ever again!! Have fun at your mini reunion.
-
I was told that I could play golf two weeks post op. Run and lift weights at four weeks. Hold off on ab work until six weeks. And at anytime if something hurts - stop doing it.
-
Hey question - when did your doctor tell you that you could start running again? Mine told me to walk for four weeks then I could run and lift weights. It will be so much fun to show off the "new you" to your old GF's - I am sure they will still recognize you....but their jaw may need to be lifted up off of the floor...LOL
-
Has your doctor released you for full exercise yet? Mine told me all I could do right now was walk. - "killing me"
-
Tell whomever to get their facts straight before they open their mouth. A slipped band is a very big deal. When my band slipped there was no way it was "going back into place" because I busted all of the stitches that hold the band in place from throwing up......I am right there with you.....we will "retrain" for that marathon!!!! We will get there!!!!!
-
I had a slipped band, 8 months post op. I had a stuck episode....wouldn't come up wouldn't go down. Vomited for two days and band slipped, broke all of my stitches that hold the band in place. Doctor took out .5 cc to try and get the food to pass, that didn't work. He took out 2 more cc, that didn't work. Totally unfilled me it still wouldn't pass. Two surgeries in the past two weeks - no food, just liquid and no exercise.....I think no exercise bothers me more than the no food part...LOL. So yes - slipped band means surgery.....

is anyone from ashland,ky
fire girl replied to donna.h's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No - but I know where it is...I grew up in Huntington WV.. -
I know exactly how you feel....I have been banded for 8 months and had a slip on September 9, doctor went in and "unhooked" my band , but left it in place, let my stomach heal, then went back in on September 21, and "rehooked" it - so I have had two surgeries within a couple of weeks. I had worked up to running 5 miles each day I was going to do my first 5k this past weekend....but that didn't happen!!! Doc told me the same thing - I could "walk" this weekend if I feel up to it....not being able to run is killing me!!! So I know how you feel - we are technically starting over!
-
I would definitely start with removing some fill. I know this is going to sound strange but once I got to 5cc, good restriction, each time I lost 20 pounds I had to have fill removed. I would be so tight I couldn't keep food down. The band affects everyones body in a different way.....
-
If it is a slipped band you can't get anything up or down - including liquids.....
-
Does the band make your "feeling full" signal work stronger?
fire girl replied to CapitolChick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes BetsyB you are soooo right - the band will definitley teach you....that one bite can put you over the edge.....and that is a bad feeling. Eat slow and really, really listen to your body - it will tell you when to stop and not eat anymore. -
I had a fill in April and two months later I started having "stuck" episodes - I had to have a 1/2 cc taken out. Such a difference.....(relief) It has now been two months and I go next week and I am going to have the 1/2 cc put back in.
-
Help. Restriction problems!
fire girl replied to xokrissy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you can't hold down food - get a .5cc taken out - it will make a HUGE difference. If you are not able to eat helathy foods you will result to "slider foods" that actually have more calories....just saying. -
size 18 - gone.... size 16 - gone.... size 14 - gone... size 12 - gone...I started at a size 18 and I didn't have to buy any clothes until now the size 10, I bought only the bare minimum because I don't plan on being in a size 10 for very long. I have already bought a few pair of size 8 shorts. Goodwill loved me....LOL
-
I know - at home I will do all of the dinner dishes while I eat. At least the kitchen is clean by the time I finish eating..LOL
-
I do whey chocolate protien powder, skim milk, a banana, ice and blend in the blender - taste like a chocolate milkshake....

You will be in "onederland" before you know it.....keep up the good work!!!
