After thinking about this procedure for a whole year, I decided it was time to make a radical change to benefit my health and ultimately my every day life. I was very scared - not a big risk taker by nature. I am very excited to make this change for my family. I have been morbidly obese for 15 years now and I am no longer going to accept this as my future. I have a lot of living to do and on 1/20/2010 I took a big step in that direction. I am blessed to work at a major pharma company that also contributes to their employee's better health and was approved for this procedure in just 3 weeks. As well, they paid the majority of the cost. I have lost 14 pounds in these first 3 weeks and have 102 more lbs. to go. I can't believe I am this big, but I know that I am going to get down to my goal weight in a healthy, safe manner one day at a time.
