I know how you feel...I was so embarrassed when I finally got up the courage to go back to the lap band dr. But I am so glad I did and it was the best decision I made, because now I am back to track and losing. I finally had to say no to candy, cake, and ice cream for now. -

I moved here in 2000, but I probably took the train for the first time in 2003. We use to drive into the city but then I found the train was much easier. I am originally from California.

I don't think I lived in NY at that time. When I take the train out of Harriman it has always transferred into the city.

Hey, I will come to the city for a meet and greet. I live in Orange County, NY. I could take the train to the city. I was looking for some kind of meet and greet to talk to other banders. Most people don't understand what we go through and it is hard to get support sometimes.

Sickness bug - could it damage band?

Last year I got a stomach bug for 24 hours... I had nothing in my stomach to throw up but I heaved until the bile came up. I was lucky and my band seems to be fine. -
My first goal is to get into the size 12 New York & Company jeans I bought 3 year ago. Then I have a size 10 pair that is about 15 years old.

My goal for the year is to compete in a Spartan race and complete it. It has always been something I have wanted to do. This is my way of saying my goal for the year is to lose my weight and get healthy..

I am back to eating food again. I just have to remember to take small bites, chew, and more chewing. I had just gotten a fill and everything was fine until I tried to eat to fast. It took a couple of days before I could get again. -
I couldn't have explained it any better. Only for me, what I did when I thought I was to tight, I went and got the fill taken out. Worst mistake I ever made in my life. After 18 months and 35 lbs heavier I finally went back to the dr, now that was the best decision I ever made. I am having to relearn to eat the band way but I am so happy that I went and got a fill. I am back on the losing bandwagon.

This has happened to me after I ate to fast and got stuck. I stopped all food intake and only took sips of hot broth. This helped the swelling to down to were I could eat again. It took about one and a half days before I could get soft food down. -

If I was you I would go to the emergency... The lump sounds odd to me and I don't ever remember leaking any clear fluid. Someone else might say different. -
My dr. told me in the early years of the band it was a little more common for the band to slip, due to the way it was stitched in place. Now days it isn't as common because they have gotten better at it.

My fills cost me 80.00 per fill. I feel pretty good about that price...I think 250.00 is crazy for a fill.

Don't give up... I had lap-band surgery in 2010 and things where going good. Last year I was going on vacation and because I was getting stuck a lot at the time I went and had a slight unfill. Long story short I started gaining weight but I was to embarrassed to go back. I let almost 2 years pass plus gaining back 35 lbs, but I went back to the dr last week and got a fill. I am now back on track to get the 35 lbs off.

I had my surgery in mexico and I go to a lap band dr. in New Jersey. You can try calling around and see if any lap band dr. in your area will see you as a patient. It took me calling several dr. but I was able to find one that would see me here in the states.
