  1. Stay focused, it seems like you have a pretty good handle on things. I wish I could say the same thing for myself. It has been extremely hard, it seems like I am always hungry. I think it's time that I seek support, I do better when I have the ACCOUNTABILITY factor working. Maybe I can take some notes from you :)

  2. Thanks guys for the advice. I did see my doctor and he thinks it's still really soon, doesn't think there's anything wrong. Did some blood work, have to go back on April 15th. I must say things have gotten little better, been able to get some food down which is awsome. I'm down 40lbs after 8 weeks I guess I can't be too mad about that. I'll keep chugging along. Good luck to everyone.

  3. Four weeks post-op and I'm down 27lbs, this is great but I can't say I'm completely thrilled about the way the weight has come off. In the last 4 weeks I have only been able to keep a few things down. I just started on soft solid foods, however I have decided to stick with liquids a little while longer. It seems like everything I put in my mouth comes right back up. Its really starting to become annoying. Even water, tea, and milk come back up. I get this really thick mucus like saliva that comes up right after I try to drink or eat something. Is this esophagus reflux? I don't have heartburn or anything, and I have never had acid reflux. I not sure what the heck is going on but its really getting on my nerves. I just want eat a little something and not be worried about spitting it back up.

  4. Woke up this morning started with my normal ritual, hopped on the scale, again today no freakin' weight loss:mad2:. I'm really pissed, 5 days post-op, which means nothing by these damn liquids, and stil nothing no weight loss. I'm trying not to be so uptight about but it's really hard.

Has anyone else this problem? is it normal? I must admit I haven't done a lot of exercise, today I'm going to kick my exercise plan into gear.

Forcing myself to get over it!

  5. You're lucky, I had to go on a very strict all liquid diet for an entire week. It was cool cuz it has helped me get ready for my all liquid diet after the surgery. Had my surgery on 2/4/2010, I'm doing really well, can't image trying to consume anything other than liquid right now. Like "btrieger" said, all doctors are different, so if its working roll with it. Wishing you much continued success.

  6. I'm three days out from my surgery, and I'm doing great . I must admit I was really scared and didn't really know what to expect, but know that I have been banded I am extremely happy I did it. I've been in very little pain, and I even walked 30 minutes on the treadmill today . The only problem I've had so far is getting all my liquids in. I'm a little worried about becoming dehydrated, really don't want that to happen. Today I'm going to really push myself to get the liquids in.

  7. Hey jaimemealy, I totally understand how you feel. I'm due to be banded tomorrow, excited, but just like you said the only thing that I can think about are the "what ifs", what if this band doesn't work, what if I don't lose any weight at all. I'm really want to get my mind off the "what ifs" and move to the "I can". Just stay encouraged. You CAN!!!!!

  8. Hi All, I am on my 6th day of liquid diet (woo hoo!!!), it's been a hard, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I felt a little weak after the 4th day so I had a small bowl of turnip greens. I felt much better afyerwards. My surgery is set for February 4th, I'm a little anxious, but still very excited about the future.
