After struggling with my weight all my life I am finally on my way! In my teens I was anorexic. This made me miserable so I gained the weight back. After high school I got married, had my 3 children and was a stay at home mom. After the birth of the middle child, I was thin again but my Dr. never did figure it out except to say that sometimes our metabolism changes after a pregnancy. Well when I got pregnant the 3rd time the weight all came back and then some. Just gradually kept putting on more and more over the years. Tried every diet out there and would gain it back. Went through school, became a nurse and worked on a cardiac unit for 15 yrs. I might also add i am profoundly deaf and have gradually lost my hearing since childhood. The kids are grown and the grandchildren are here. I had a heart attack at age 47. Knew I had to make some lifestyle changes but it took me a while. Took 4 tries to quit smoking. I knew some people that had LapBand and went to a seminar very skeptical. Came out a believer! So it's taken me 1 and a half years from that point to get the requirements done and get approval. I got my band June 29, 2010! The start of the best years of my life! I already feel healthier and happier!
