  1. Happy Birthday Darlyne!

  2. Happy 52nd Birthday Darlyne!

  3. Two days after surgery, I think you'll be fine. I went back to work after two days (desk job)
  4. So glad to read these posts! I was banded a little over a year ago and FINALLY found my "sweet spot"...In the past few weeks I started losing again. It is definitely a SLOW process, but like most of you, I am SO glad I made this choice. Thanks all for letting us know we're not in the alone : )
  5. I'm at a weight-loss stand still, so this sounds like the challange I need! I'd like to love 15.4 lbs by New Years Eve...and get below 200:thumbup: I can't even imagine what that will feel like! Thanks for starting this thread

    protein bars?

Costco has excellent Protein Bars (they have 20 grams of protein and come in a three pack of peanut butter, chocolate and chocolate chip)~
  7. SO glad you asked this question! I guess I was in denial because I assumed that the slime-stuff wasn't really vomiting ...Now I have to really take note if I do this more than twice a week (since my surgeon continually warns of band-slippage if it's 2+ times a week)-Thanks everyone for the gross (but neccessary) info!
  8. I just got back from the doctor and was told if I vomited more than twice a week, I should get an unfill (because 75% of patients that do it more than twice a week experience slippage). My question: Do they consider sliming to be vomiting? Should have thought to ask this while I was there! Thanks

    Hey February 2010 Bandsters!

Like so many other people, I was hoping the weight would miraculously fall off quicker, but I'm NOT complaining -I had my surgery on 02-04-2010 and lost about 37 lbs. It's weird, because even though my clothes are baggy, they aren't HUGE on me... I would have thought that 37 lbs would make more of an impact size-wise. I have had a few NSV's which make this whole process SO worthwhile (like airplane seatbelts fitting easily, having a lap again  and not feeling like a wolverine wanting to eat everything in sight )...I'm SO glad I made the decision to have the surgery :tt2:
  10. I've been banded for 5 months (Feb 2010) and after my last fill, I've been having "stuck" issues about 3 times a week...I'm slowly learning what works and what doesn't-Meanwhile I'm a work in progress:scared2:
  11. I had surgery on Thursday and went back to work on Monday. It's not too invasive and it actually felt better being up and around

    Hey February 2010 Bandsters!

Okay, so it's been 5 months since my surgery and I've lost about 30 pounds (had no pre-op diet). I'm thrilled with my progress but had no idea it would be so SLOW. How are you other February bandsters doing? It has only been about 2 weeks since I've reached restriction and I'm hoping I see a little more action now~ Would love to hear from everyone else
  14. I was ecstatic the other day-I got on the airplane and the seatbelt FIT with EXTRA belt hanging over...It was such an uplifting feeling (I used to be right on the brink of the belt not fitting AND the seat rests didn't come all the way down). I LOVE my LAP-BAND®... (though at times it's definitely "Love-Hate" ). For anyone with doubts about their decision to have the surgery, it DOES work...it just takes a few months to reach that sweet spot!
  15. I think we've all experienced what you're going through...Bandster Hell! It takes MONTHS to reach restriction. You'll have a few fills and feel NOTHING and then BAM! You'll have total restriction. Realistically, you SHOULD still feel hungry, since there is little to no fill in your band yet. The 1st 6 weeks are typically "healing" time. Once the fills begin (and you reach restriction) you'll have the "Aha!" moment. Meanwhile, don't get discouraged. We're all in this together : )
