    im 6months post op

ITs gonna seem like forever and that u are not losing enough quick enough..but u are.. it takes atleast a month for your body to adjust. and until like the 6th fill.. ur gonna feel like u eat way to much.. pay attention to your body.. u feel a little fulll.. stop eating and wait.. eat high proteins-chicken, turkey, certain veggies..ur on liquids for now.. i drank alot of medifast shakes at first.. trust me.. if u work at it.. the weight will come off.. the band IS ONLY A TOOL.. in the end its u that determines how much u can lose.. stick with it..

Dont get discouraged.. I still eat some stuff i shouldnt..i started making and decorating cakes.. NOt a good thing for a recovering fat addict(LOL) but i enjoy and will taste test on occasion.. i also am looking at low sugar and low fat recipes too..so.. just think protein first..i do alot of turkey burgers, turkey meat instead of beef.. have icecream called skinny cow here that is really really good.. and weight watchers.. also frozen yogurt..i get a craving i go with lower fat instead.. FIGURE its like 8 weeks til end of aug.. if u even lose 2lbs a week thats very close..its 16 lbs.. do some walking or if u can go to gym or have exercise stuff home us it.. im not motivated all the time.. but i make myself.. I have been overweight for 14 yrs and just tired of it.. i want the old me back.. and im determined to get her back.. GOOD LUCK>> you can do anything u set ur mind to.. you already started it just stick with it..if u get a bad day.. its ok.. dont beat yourself up.. just start fresh next day and stick with it..

i am 6 months post op as of june 27.. and i am down 45 now.. i have 46more to go to be at my goal.. guess im doing well.. i was told at the bariatric center common weightloss for the 1st year is only 50lbs... so im doing real good.. i work out like crazy on gazelle and i have a bowflex i use .. i take walks with my small kids in strollers too.. so im real determined cuz by next january.. i want my plastic surgery done to correct all the damage i did to myself from being overweight and from my pregnancies..:smile2:
  8. Its ok.. i had my band done jan 27 10, and i am now 6m out and am down 45lbs.. i had alot of times where i would fall off the wagon and eat unhealthy.. but next day i was determined and set my mind to eating high Proteins.. i keep telling myself lack of Protein means i can loose my hair.. NOOOO not gonna happen..i still eat some not so healthy things but only little portions.. i have had my lapband adjusted 6 times so far.. i have 6.2cc in it.. now.. i go in 2weeks to see howmuch i lost...keeping up on exercise and trying to eat as much protein as u can helps.. dont get scared or discouraged.. set ur mind to it.. be determined..:smile2:
  9. I just had it done 6days ago.. i was nervous and anxious too.. its normal.. you will be in and out i was home in 5hrs. i took the pain meds for first 2-3 days.. and im still somewhat sore now.. but if you just lay there its gonna be sore.. when i first get up its sore and just when i lay down at night. its sore. but not overpowering.. You will be fine. trust me.. can stick to clear liquids. broths, ice chips in water.. diluted clear juices, white grape, apple, and its for the first 3 days.. along with suger free popsicles, and sugar free drinks, like crystal light, walmart brand..and jellos as long as suger free
  10. Good luck, thw 1st month is tha hardest trying to figure out the changes you are making are for life

  11. well im only 35 and just had it done on jan 27th .. its not to bad..your sore but expected.. as long as you are willing to change your eating habits and know if you dont that this wont work.. she willbe fine

  12. with my insurance which was cdphp and in ny.. it took a total of 4 weeks once everything was in order and i had all my appointments with the doctors and bloodwork all done.. then have to get clearance from your primary.. usually they have like a 10% weightloss to do before surgery. some insurances are very strict..some are more flexible. mine was i almost reached my 10% and they did surgery anyway..I started my seminar in Oct and was banded in Jan.
