Mimin: Sorry, but your boyfriend's friend's girlfriend is what I like to call a real "bitch!" It makes me mad when people are so thoughtless. This weekend my sister-in-law came from out of state for a visit. She looked at me and said, that she better get busy exercising or else I would get thinner than her and I'm suppose to be the fat one in the family! What do you say to such rudeness? I said, "Get your running shoes girl, because you're about to take my place!" Even though I came up with a glib reply it really hurt my feelings. Can't people be happy for my success? It doesn't reflect on them. I would just reassure your boyfriend that you love him, just has he has always loved you. No matter what. When I was contemplating having the LB surgery, my husband said that he loved me and didn't care if I had the surgery or not (he is thin and handsome). He said I don't notice your outsides (we've been married 31 years), I'm in love with you! Somehow, with no pressure on me, because I felt loved and supported, I could make the decision for myself. You're boyfriend is feeling vulnerable and hurt. It will take him a while to process his feelings and what he is really willing to do about them. Give him space and support. I'm sure you are already!

Reporting in this week with a zero weight loss. Sucks! I exercised 5 times this week and ate between 1000-1200 calories/day, except for 1 day and then I ate 1300 calories. I ate Chinese food twice (Saturday and then leftovers Sunday). I think I'm retaining water, as Chinese food has a lot of salt. I better drink away. Oh, well! I'll just try not to get depressed and keep plugging a long!

Kimberely, Sounds like you've got a lot of support here, if you want it. I agree with want everyone else has said. I have found on my own weight loss journey that if I don't eat between 1000-1200 calories/day and exercise at least 5 times a week. I don't lose. It sucks, but that is how it is for me. I'm an easy keeper. You might be too. I'm just grateful that I have the band and that everyone pound of lose is going to stay off! If you express your frustration to the doctor, they will offer support, not chastisement. Good luck! Keep us informed.

Puddin: Are you wearing the compression garment and still swelling that much? Thanks for sharing your story. I think it's wise to take a break for a while and work on becoming the kind of person you want to attract. Just don't take too long a break, because you're already a wonderful person and Mr. Right comes along when your not looking! Keep in touch!

Tami: I don't think that anyone feels bad about your weight loss. You're an inspiration. I think that you should put your weight loss tickr back on. We are having a March challenge on this thread! The best thread on LBT by the way! We are all proud of you, it doesn't make us feel bad. Val: I'm glad you're not lurking anymore. Appreciate your comments.

I think everyone has a touch of the after Christmas, winter-blues. I know that at least in Utah we are sick sick sick of the winter! On the news the other day, they said that Monday was known as Black Monday. The most depressing day of the year! The news said that people were getting their Christmas bills in, giving up on the New Year's resolutions and tired of the winter. Does that sound familiar? Well, at least one of our resolutions won't be completely broken. We can do this weight loss thing. We've got the tool, the support and the will power. Even if we're on a plateau, we will lose weight. How's that for a pep talk?!

I had a NSV last night at water aerobics. The size large flotation belt was too big. I had to use a size medium. Yeah! -

Melissa: Scrambled eggs can be difficult to eat. You might try a fried egg (with out any oil of course). My doctor says that after a fill you should be on liquids for a day, the next day soft foods, the next day mushy food and then slowly reintroduce regular food. You will probably have to really think about chewing and eating more slowly. I know that the powers to be have told us this all along, but until you have some restriciton it just doesn't seem as important, does it? My 3rd fill, I experienced exactly what you are going through. I would give it some time. Right after a fill, there can also be extra swelling. Take it slowly. There are trade offs with the band. Do you want to fill full or would you rather have a little more freedom with what you eat? If you can monitor, weigh and watch what you eat and are willing to exercise than maybe you want less restriction. If it's impossible to eat, than of course, you want less restriction. You'll have to figure all this out and then talk with your doctor. Anyway, welcome back. Join the challenge. Wish you the best!

MimIn: Congratulations! We are the same weight and I'm buying some 14's, but depending on the brand some can be tight. I'm trying to think of a NSV.... Let's see... People are telling me that I look a lot younger. I guess that is a NSV!

How soon did everyone start excercising after

Renee: Be patient, you'll get it back and be healthier in the long run. I know it's hard and a BIG adjustment. Things will get better! -
How soon did everyone start excercising after

rms: Get your self a little more time. It took me almost a month to feel well enough to begin exercise again. This is also when my doctor said to start walking again. Your body has gone through a lot of changes and is using a lot few calories. It needs time to adjust. Just remember that in the long run your body is going to thank you for all the weight you're going to lose and you'll be feeling better before you know it! Good luck! -
Puddin: Now I'm really inspired by your workout story! At 52, I'm been afraid to get a personal trainer. I've been exercising since July, and I guess I'm in better shape, but it's still hard and I still don't like it. I'll do the treadmill, elipitical and water aerobics but everyday I have to talk myself into it. I know I need to start weight training... Anyway, you're an inspiration!

TruBlueSue: I would throw a fit the next time you go to the doc if you can't have a fill. You shouldn't be penalized for sticking to your diet even if you are hungry! Your doing good (except for the M&M's). The reason you got the band was to be a tool to help with your appetite. You paid for that tool and you deserve to get it's maximum benefits. Easy for them to make judgements for you. I would just insist on a fill! Good luck! Bandida: Good luck with your upcoming surgery. You're going to do awesome!
