Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Bandida: Glad you're feeling better and ready to go! Congratulations on all the changes in your life. Wow! Look at all the weight you've already lost. You are on your way girl! Okay, what is Spanish root? -
Brenda: Wow! You look 15 years younger! Fantastic. Thanks for sharing the pics. It's wonderful to see progress. I know that getting to this point was a lot of hard work, especially with everything you had going on in your life. What a great thing to do for yourself. Congratulations!

Slpdgrl: Can't wait to see your pictures. Gladd you're doing better. Are you an exercise fanatic too? Who was your doctor? Did you have the surgery in MT? Puddin: Patience is a hard virtue to acquire. You're doing great. I'd still has the doc about spinning classes. I think even non-impact classes need abs. Seems like everything is ab work! I love reading this thread. It really keeps me motivated to work out and keep plugging along!

Cassandra: I think that you are being overly sensitive. Teresita's persona is to be the drill sargent. We are signed up and made a commitment. Your weight loss is awesome. No one is trying to put you down. Some people have different ways of expressing their encouragement. Obviously, it wasn't your way, but it's not meant to put you down. This is an anonymous group, no one really knows anyone else. Therefore her remarks to you could in no way be personal. Also, you don't know her, so you shouldn't assume the worse. As overweight people we have all had to endure unkind remarks and thoughtless comments. We are going to be more sensitve about things like our diet. I have reacted the same way, but after I thought about it, I realized that I was over reacting. Everyone on this thread wants to succeed. I think that if you weren't a little bit upset by your food choices you wouldn't be so sensitive. Everyone admits to cheating, making wrong choices, etc. We are only human. Your weight loss is going great, but what we are trying to do is build life long good habits, ie. like your great exercise habit. Let's try and give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I wish you the best. -
Well, I've hit another plateau! Zero loss for me again this week! I'm frustrated. I exercised 6 out of 7 days and averaged 1140 calories a day. What's up with that?! I have started weight training, but I don't see any muscles! GRRR! Oh well, I'll just have to keep plugging away!

Reporting in for the week. :help: Well, I've definetly hit a plateau.:faint: I exercised 6 out of the 7 days. I averaged 1140 calories a day. :hungry: This is the 2nd week of NO weight loss. :noidea: I have started weight lifting, do you think this could be it? I'm frustrated. Maybe I need to add another exercise session, because I really don't want to eat less.:violin: Oh, well! I guess I'll just keep plugging along! -

Oh, I guess I should report back on my Thermage procedure! Well, it hurt like hell, even with the pain killer and sleeping pill. It was bearable, but definetly not fun. With that said, I'm really pleased with the results! No more double chin or sagging jowls. My neck still has a few wrinkles, but with Thermage it takes 3-6 months to see the finally results. Also, I can get it touched up. Even though it was painful I would do it a gain. I'm thinking that after all my weight loss and weight training if my saggin underarms don't tighten up, I will do Thermage there. I just thinking how much my life has changed in just a short 5 months. Five months ago, I would look in the mirror and think terrible things about myself, ie. Karey you're disgusting, you've got to do something, etc. It was a good way to start the day. Now, I look in the mirror and think, Karey, you're doing it, you're looking pretty good, keep it up, etc. I'm not as depressed and feel hopeful about life in general. I have always been a loving person, but for the first time in a long time, I'm allowing myself to love me. It's a good thing!

TruBlue: If you want a fill, stick some rocks in pocket, don't take of your shoes, drink a lot of water before you go, etc. It might hurt your ego when you go to weigh in, but if you need a fill.... Good luck!
-
Puddin: I think that your doctor should be insisting on your wearing the compression garment. Check out this website: http://www.breasthealthonline.org/cgi-bin/mwf/topic_show.pl?tid=57102 I'm worried about how much swelling you are having. Sorry it's the mother in me!

Turner24: You might be too tight. How long has it been since your fill? (I can't remember). If it's less than 2 weeks. I would try to stay on mushies and give it some time. If it's been longer than I would call the doc and tell them what is going on. They may just take out .2 and you would be at the sweet spot. You have to eat. The band should just make it so you eat less easier, not cause you to starve. Also, need to be careful not to get dehydrated. Good luck! Keep us posted! Bandida: Welcome to bandland! The first few weeks are the toughest. You question your decision, your hungry and in pain and yes you're very tired! Don't push yourself too hard. This is the time to heal and be kind to yourself. If walking 1.6 miles makes you tired, walk 1 mile. You want to get moving, but not overdue. You're a great gal with a big heart and you're going to be successful, but cut yourself some slack here. Your a newbie. Be patient and rest when you need to. Keep us posted. Glad your a bandster! -
Hedwig: God bless you for your efforts. All will be well. You just need to find out what all the possiblities are and use the system the same way that the birthmother uses it. Wishing you the best!

Labandfan: Go to dietpower.com and download a free two trial offer of Diet Power. It's an awesome software program for keeping track of what you eat, how much you exercise (how many calories you burned with exercise) and the nutritional values you are getting from you're food. It also keeps track of your metabolic rate based on your weight loss. It's very easy to learn and if you like foods that aren't in their program it's very easy to add those foods. Down load the free trial. It's worth it and will help you really know how much fat, protien, etc. you're getting. It also give you a grade at the end of the day for your eating. I find it very motivating! -

Cassandra: Watch the cherry coke, especially right after a fill. Don't want your band to slip! -
LindaN: Yeah! Yeah! I'm doing a dance for you too! I was on a plateau for 3 weeks and it sucks! Yeah!:clap2: Way to lose! Keep it up!

Okay Tami, that was an interesting website. How do you find these things? My RBR rate 1450-1647. It would be helpful to know your lean muscle mass. Oh well. Thanks for the info! It just confirms that I've got to work on strength training!
-
Tami- Where the heck did you go to get your RMR test? That sounds very intriquing! Okay, I am getting vain. Tommorrow I am going to a medical spa and having Thermage on my face and skin. Thermage is a laser that is SUPPOSE to rebuild collagen on the third layer of skin and help to smooth out wrinkles and tighten up your skin. My face, especially, around my jowls and chin is sagging with the weight loss. I've seen before and after pictures and the results are pretty amazing. I'm a little nervous becuase it is suppose to be painful. It takes about 2 hours and they give you a tranquilizer, but it doesn't sound like it's going to be a fun day! I'll let you know what I think when it's over. I can't believing I'm doing this, but I didn't go to all this work to look older!

Josette: Thanks for information. I have Leslie's walking videos they are great. You can add small 2 pound weights to make the work out tougher. It's good to spice up our routines a little bit! -
Lisa: Congrats on the running! You're doing awesome. Harlito: Welcome back! Glad that you're feeling some restriciton. It's so hard before you do. BJean: Don't get discouraged. You'll get there and you're doing just fine! I'm off to water aerobics. My bottom is really sore from yesterday's class, but I guess that's good. Right?!

Brenda: We do have an open adoption, but the birth mom moved to another state so we don't have a lot of interaction. The birth mom is getting her act together, but it wasn't in time for my daughter, who I feel certain is better off with us for her parents. It would be hard to have the birth Mom be your sister! If she decides that she can't hack it, don't let her keep going back and forth. It's hard to know what's best for the little guy in the long run. One things for sure, stability and routine are much more important than good intentions! I wish you the best. If you ever need to talk feel free to email me.
-
Minin: It's great that you can talk to each other. Luv4aliving: Welcome to the site. Let us know how we can support you.

spldgirl: What a great life story you shared. How unselfish of you to take the baby. Do you miss him? We adopted a baby when I was 45, my next youngest was 15 at the time. I've never looked back. She is one of the reasons I want to be healthy. Anyway, I'm so glad that you had the opportunity to have the plastic surgery and TT. I wish you the best!
