  1. Lynn: Would you be having lipo on your hips or hips and thighs or in the area of your stomach tuck. I've been told that having lipo on your thighs can cause lose skin. One PS that I interviewed told me that and said that I would want a thigh lift six months later. I think a good person to ask would be JulieNYC. I also don't think that you would notice the pain from the lipo that much if your having it with a TT. I think all your attention would be on your tummy muscles. Lot's of hard decisions! Good luck!

    Countdown to goal.....

HIP! Hip! Hooray! Yeah! You did it! Now get ready to answer all the questions on how you did it! Way to go! Can't wait to have a similar post. I'm getting closer. I've been really working at it. Not going to make 20 pounds before my plastic surgery, but I think I'll hit 14, which still makes me very pleased. One thing I've learned, is this takes a lot of patience! You're hard work and patience has paid off!:Banane20: I'm drooling with envy! Again, congratulations! Kudos!:Banane20:

Nana: Are you talking about Arnica Montana? It's a homepatheic remedy for bruising and sore muscles. It sounds like you probably don't need it now, but it's a very good item to have a round. You can use it when you bump yourself and start to get a bruis e and it shortens the healing time. There are also Arnica gel's out there to use on sore muscles after a workout. I've used it and like it quite well. You might not feel like a hero, but you still are. We can all have our moments for being a wimp, when something hurts. But you're more my hero, because of your common sense approach. I appreciate it. You reallly do look great!

Nana: Thanks so much for posting pics. What an inspiration. Just what I needed. You're one hot grandma! May I ask what your cup size is after the reduction? I'm still trying to decide on implants. Every time I hear a story like LJM, I start to reconsider. Anyway, you're looking great! Do you feel 100%, 80%, 60%? I hope I do as well as you have!
  5. I'm having a lift in March. Trying to decide if I will have the augementation also. Lifting is a big improvement over the down and out that they are now, but lifting doesn't add fullness to the top of the breast. Trying to decide if I will be happy with just that. You should go check out some other sites that talk about breast surgery. One good site is: www.makemeheal.com. If you google breast augmentation, I'm sure you'll find a lot of sites. Good luck! Oh, meanwhile, go to Victoria Secret or a really good department store and get fitted for some bras that will lift you up and have extra padding in the bottom to give you a fuller look!

January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

Stef: I'm really impressed that you have such a goal. I hope you make it! It's so hard to be patient isn't it? I had the best workout on Friday. Really hit it and was able to increase all my weights. It felt great. Well, I hope that every one is well. Have a good day!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Can life change in an instant or what?! LJM: What a scare. I had to have a diagnostic mammogram for a lump this summer. I know what a frightening experience that can be. So glad you don't have cancer! It makes me wonder about getting implants for myself though. I know several people who have had leaks from their silicone implants. And, I just about made up my mind to go ahead and have a little implant put in. Maybe these things shouldn't be taken so lightly, even though it's possible to do all these wonderful things to make our bodies look better, maybe it's still not a good idea. Hmm. Not sure what I will do. Does this complication mean that you are going to postpone your surgery as well? Tami: Damn! Damn! Damn! How utterly frustrating! I really sympathize with you. I would be devastated if my surgery had to be postponed. We get our courage up and get all psyched up for it. I know you will work it out so that it all happens in a way that you will feel good about. Keep us posted! Well, I got a call from lapband doc and she is going to do my port change at the same time that I have my surgery. At least it looks like it will happen. She told me she would charge $250 plus OR time. I thought that sounded like a bargain! She just left a message on my phone, so when I called back, of course, I couldn't get her. Her office said they were working it out with my PS. I hope it all goes off without a hitch. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to fall like it has for Tami and LJM. If I can't get my surgery on March 4, I will have to wait until after my daughter's wedding in May. I wish all the best. Neal, we're all going to be waiting to hear your experiences.

Tami & everyone: I was just reading so info on makemeheal. There is an article about what to eat before and after surgery. The article specifically mentions green tea and caffeine as things to avoid. I'm sure there are other opinions, but I wanted to give you the link so you could decide for yourself. January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

Stef: I would love it if you updated your pics! Love to see your muscles! Sometimes, I think that I spend too much time exercising. I think this only because I, like you, have so much to do. Plus, I got the bill today for my trainer and it makes me feel a little guilty about how I'm spending the family budget. After my TT, I'm going to have to re-evaluate how I am spending my time and money. I've been so fixated on getting in shape and to goal. When I reach goal, what next? Not sure what it will take to maintain and stay in shape. Guess I'll play it by ear. Meanwhile, I still have 13 pounds to go! I need to update my ticker, too!

January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

Stef: I really hope you aren't over doing it. Seems like a lot to put your body through. Is your goal to become a weight lifter? Not trying to be critical, just wondering.
  12. Julie: That is fantastic! I'm so glad that it's resolving. When Spring comes your going to be ready with your new bod and running legs!

Nana: You make me feel so good. You and I are close in age and I have been worried. I'm a tough broad and when you say it wasn't that bad, I feel comforted. I'm sure that we'll all have our moments when we wondered, what was I thinking!? I think this is like worrying abuot giving birth. Yes it's bad, but you can do it! Better yet, we'll look a lot better when than after giving birth (at least in the long run)! Thanks for keeping me/us grounded.

I did it! I DID IT! I did it!!

You're a sweetheart for replying. I used Sunrider products for a while and found that I felt better uisng them, but it didn't get any more weight off. I'm still losing but it's only like 2-4 pounds a month. It seems like nothing until I look back at my history. My doc told me to stop worrying about it. I said, but my BMI is still too high and she said, I look thin, I'm muscular and with the TT I should be fine. My trainer says the same thing, but I can see that I still have fat in a few places. I don't know when to really call it quicks. I'm going to keep pushing until after the surgery and until I get back to exercising, etc. and see how my body responds. I know know if I could go back to 800 calories a day. I admire your determination. I'm a little diet weary, but I'm not weary of taking care of myself, exercising and trying to be healthy. Does that make sense? I may do something more extreme at some point, but not right now. How many calories a day to you eat to maintain your new weight?

Connie: Wow, new boobies for Valentine's Day. That's a great gift! You need to check in here more, so we can cheer you on. Wishing you the best. Tami: I think I will take an Ambien tonight. I'm just exhausted. I spent almost 4 hours at the dentist today getting veneers on my bottom teeth. They look great. My jaw is sore and I think, Karey how are you going to cope with the major stomach pain?

I did it! I DID IT! I did it!!

Congratulations! I'm so impressed with how hard you've worked! You deserve all the accolades you can get! Way to go! From reading your first entry I can see that I should probably go down in calories. I use the body bugg and try and get a 1000 calorie a day defiecit. I usually burn about 2400 calories a day (that exercising 1-2 hours a day) and I usually eat abuot 1400 calories a day. Probably eating too much, huh? I'm having the hardest time getting the last 20 pounds off. Did you ever hit the wall or was your weight loss pretty steady?

    September Bandsters

Okay. I'm getting tired from lack of sleep. I had a few good nights and then the anxiety hit me again. It's hard. I'm giving my mom a big 75th birthday party 4 days before my surgery, which is a good distraction, but I think I'm trying to do too much. I'm worry about that, my surgery and my daughter's wedding in May. She calls me everyday and we try to knock out details. It's coming along. I'm worried I'm not going to feel well, etc. I've been exercising everyday, sometimes twice a day and watching what I eat. I didn't lose any weight this week. My body just is tired. I feel like screaming. I hope you all are doing better!

January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

Stef: I have been reading very similar things about interval training and talked to my trainer about it. He agrees with the articles that I have read. When you train aerobically your body gets more efficient, when you do short spurts of intense exercise your body has to stretch and that is what makes your heart stronger. Plus, as your article points out, interval training is the most effective for burning fat. If you burn fat while your exercising, than your body thinks that you need your fat and so it tries to hold on to it. If you have some anerobic exercise (which is what happens during intervals) than your body burns carbohydrates. It's after the workout that your body will let go of the fat, because it thinks you don't need it. It is an interesting theory. I've been doing intervals this week (that's why my aerobic minutes are down), along with my weight training. I do believe that I get more of the exercise "high" from doing intervals. I don't know if I'll lose weight any faster. I guess it will be an experiment. My trainer did say that "Fat burns in a carbohydrate flame." We will see. Thanks for the article. Hope all are well!

LJM: You're doing great. I'm exercise my butt off (literally), but not my stomach. The fat there is stubborn. I've lost ten of the 20 I wanted to lose with 1 month to go. I think most of the weight has come off my breasts! Oh well. Hang in there. We're going to make it!

January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

Huge snow storm in Utah today. We got about 10 inches and it's suppose to snow tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday. Getting pretty tired of it! Did I mention it's cold, too? 20 degrees tonight. Well, didn't do as good on the cardio this week, but here are my totals: C- 200 min. R- 180 W- 167 (Still!) Does anyone here do interval training? I've been reading a lot about it and it sounds like a good way to go? Opinions?

Neal: I think I only see the nurse for my pre-op appointment. I have already seen the PS twice however. I'm wondering about your antioxidant cocktail and Tami's green tea. My doc specifically said not caffeine two weeks before or two weeks after surgery. I'd just check your list of do's and don't's and make sure it's alright. Good luck with the pre-op stuff! Tami: I told my PS that port replacement was not big deal but he prefers that the band doc do it. GRRR!
