Kareyquilts TT, BL, Lipo & BA

Thanks everyone! It took me 15 months to lose the weight. I would still like to lose 15 pounds. The doctor said I will lose about 10 pounds with this procedure. He says that I need to have my back side done also and I could have my arms done at the same time. Not sure if I will or not. I'll see how I do with these procedures. I'm also self pay, don't know if I want to spend my children's inheritance on it!

Shalee: I'm 5'6". I'm starting to have second thoughts AGAIN, about the augmentation. Thinking about all the possible complications. Maybe at 53, I don't need to worry. I should be happy for them to stand upright, instead of lying down. LOL. I may call the doctor tomorrow and cancel the augmentation and just go for the breast lift. I don't know why the decision is so hard for me.
  3. Amy: Your being awfully quite for a girl who is about to have a TT! Are you excited? I hope you're going to keep your thread up and let us know how everything goes! I had my two week pre-op appointment today. Everything went well, I think it's all a go! I wish you the best!

May 6th will come before you know it. Are you having any other procedures besides the breast reduction?

Okay, for anyone following our robbery drama. The jury came back today with a guilty verdict on all three counts: guilty-aggravated burglary, guilty-theft over $5,000 and guilty- malicious destruction of property. God bless the jury. Justice was served!

Nina: Yeah! You're back. This thread needs your energy. You must catch up on all the previous stuff. Mommi-Hammi- wishing you the best! I have my 2 week pre-op today. Hope all goes well. LJM: I have an adopted child, too. She is turning 9 the day after my surgery (oops, she's not happy about that!), but we are having a big birthday party this Saturday. My DD is such a joy. I have 4 biological children as well and I'm here to say, that after the initial bonding, I hardly ever think of my youngest as being adopted. I hope that you can have the experience of having your DH's child, but lucky you, that you were also able to adopt! Anyway, I do think that getting rid of the pannus could be helpful, even if you have to have a touch up, if and when you were to get pregnant. I'm wishing you the best!

Is it time to check in again? I didn't meet all my goals with the trial and all (by the way, the jury is still out, they will convene tomorrow, the rumor is that it is 7 to convict and 1 for reasonable doubt--they must have an unanimous verdict). weight- 166, cardio- 270, resistance- 180. Oh well, this week will be better!
  8. Julie: Thanks for letting us hear from you. I have been on antidepressants off and on through the years and when you need them you need. My internists actually recommend them at my last visit because I have so much anxiety right now. I think it's temporary due to my upcoming PS and DD's wedding in May. It really scares me to think about going back on anti-depressants because of weight gain. How has your experience been with this aspect of it? Take care!

LJM: Read your blog. I don't blame you for not wanting to retype it all. Wow! You have some big decisions ahead of you. I'm wondering if getting rid of the pannus would actually be helpful to your overall health and ability to carry a child? I think it might. But waiting another 6 months for healing etc. that's hard. Patience is the hardest virtue. Do you have other children? I feel for your quandry. I respect you and wish you the best. Chin up. Hugs!

Nonad: Sounds like you may be a little tight, but I wouldn't get too much of an unfill. It's a difficult balance, but if you keep at, I'm sure you'll find it. Wishing you the best.

Alynne: Your times are creeping up! You're doing really well. So glad to hear that. A few people are having problems over on the Feb/March plastics site. It's beginning to psych me out! You should post an update on your thread!

Eugenia: Glad everything went well! YEAH! The pain medication works that well huh? That's great. I've heard some people say that the brachioplasty is very painful and others say it's not too bad. Glad you're doing well. Looking forward to your pictures. Neal: glad your posting again. MommiHammi- You'll be in my prayers. Easy to remember because that's my 2 week pre-op appointment day. Can't believe in you squeeked in there before me. LJM: okay, I'm starting to get nervous again, questioning myself, right and left. Can't believe I'm becoming such a big chicken!

Neal: So glad your home. I was getting worried about you. Sounds like you've had a rough go. I hope you're feeling better soon. Looks like lots of red spots on you. Is that from moving the drains? Your stomach looks great. Your picture is psyching me out, and taking my anxiety level up. I tend to have low blood pressure, too. God bless you're in my prayers! Tami: The doc that is doing my port change is not the doc that did my band surgery. Of course he is no longer in town, and I do feel a lot of loyalty to him. That being said, from what I understand, the port change is less than 15 minutes and not a big deal. The plastics, however, is a very big deal. Sounds like your plastics guy is willing to go the extra mile. Well, it's all a very big decision and I hope you'll get some answers this weekend. Please keep us posted.

Ceradad, sorry about your vein problems. I've known a few people that have had similar procedures. Your tough it will be all right, just a bump in the round and then you'll be even tougher! Good luck, keep us informed. Almost two years ago, our house was robbed. My then 26 year son pulled up in his car and saw 2 guys coming out of our house carrying bags and he chased one of the guys down and the other guy shot at him! My son was not injured, thank God! We had several guns stolen, all my jewelry, silver coins, etc. Anyway, it was about $50,000 worth! Yesterday the trial started. We watched them choose the jury and them we all had to wait outside while they grilled my son for almost 2 hours! We all had to wait outside because we are all witnesses and they won't let you hear what anyone else says. It's a very frustrating process. Long story short, no exercise for me today. I have to testify! Wish us luck, I hope these guys are punished. They need to learn it's not okay to shoot at people! I'm a little scared, but it will be okay.

Mimin: Glad your back to exercise. Let me know how the spin class goes. I think that after my surgery, I'm going to give spin a try. I would like to set a goal to go on some bike tours. My doc went to Spain on a bike tour and he and his wife absolutely loved it. I think I'm in good enough shape, but not comfortable really on a bike. Anyway, thinking of goals for myself, when it's not weight loss. Wierd to think there will come a day when I don't need to lose weight?!!! Anyway, please keep in touch, I consider you a friend. Yup, my surgery is coming up. I have my 2 week pre-op appointment in a few days. Half the time I feel like chickening out, but I won't!

Nonad: Mimin's ticker is for her current goal. Sorry for all your troubles. What a frustrating situation for you! I'm glad you finally pursued it. Luckily you can still do it and sounds like you are back on track! There are several threads for slow losers on here and I would check them out. Persoanlly, I think that a combination of low calories and exercise works best. I aim for 60 to 75 grams of protien daily, 25 grams of fiber and I record what I eat. I really like a software program called Diet Power, which you can download for a free 2 week trial. The program grades your food choices and I have learned a lot about good eating from it. Also, if you can afford it, I would get a Body Bugg, because it will monitor how many calories you are burning and teach you even more about your body and metabolism. Of course you don't need any of these things, you can go to any number of free programs on the internet to record your food choices, etc. I think that exercise is key, especially weight training to increase your metabolism. Also, I would keep up with the fills now that you know your pouch is okay. If you think you can eat too much than get another fill and keep getting them till you reach the point that if you had a nother fill it would be uncomfortable. Then you'll know you've found your sweet spot. The lapband is a wonderful tool, I'm glad that you found out yours is working. I'd check out more of the threads on lapband talk and I'd go to Obesity Help website. Keep checking in with us whenever you feel like it! Lots of luck!

Mary I wish my insurance company would pay for a hospital bed. I'm self-pay all the way. Does your weight loss center say that most lapbander don't loss as much weight as you? I get that from my internist, but not my band doc. People can lose a lot of weight without the band, too, and I think that's the exception. It takes a lot of determination no matter what you do. What makes me happy about the band is that I think I have learned good habits and I have the band to back me up. Soon I'll have a big scar to remind me, also!

Neal, hope your alright. We didn't ask you to have anyone post how you were doing. My thoughts are with you! Kel- I like hearing that the pain is all worth it! Mary- Glad there is going to be someone after me. We will have to cheer each other on. I don't go for my pre-op visit, until next week. LJM- How are you sleeping? For some reason, my anxiety has gone down. At least for now!

Tami: I can't believe that someone would make an ignorant comment about your port bulge. I guess it takes all kinds! People crack me up. What does it matter which kind of WLS you had? Can't people accept and learn from one another. It sounds like sour grapes to me. I know when I first got the band and I was losing as fast as I wanted to, I questioned myself about choosing the band over a bypass, but I certainly wouldn't think of judging anyone elses choices. Anyway, hope the PS has some good information for you.

    Unfill for Plastic Surgery

Puddin: I hope you got your cancer early. Such a scary word. I'm so sorry. Hope you're all right, do you have to do radiation or anything? Oh, I think if you want to just have a port change it would probably cost between $800-1200. They would do it on an out patient basis, endoscopically. Maybe not a priority for you now, but definetly do-able.

Reporting no weight loss or weight gain! GRRR! I don't think I watched my calories good enough this last week. If I don't watch it VERY closely, I don't lose. I guess I better go back to logging my food. Miriam: one pound loss is much better than my NO pound loss! How's the exercising going?
