Nurseamy's tummy tuck/Lipo/Mastopexy
kareyquilts replied to nurseamy's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Amy: I think I'll say something like, "I am live, too!" I'm counting on it. Checked out your pictures and you look wonderful. It's getting me excited to get it done! How long were you in surgery? Are you surpised that it was only 4 pounds of skin? Rest and enjoy your pain meds! -

Julie, I'm glad your back on the boards. You're a calming influence on me. I'm getting the pre-surgery jitters and the augmentation is nerve wrecking for me. It's hard to visualize all of this. I guess I'm worried about the pain, but I have total confidence that I can cope with it. I just hope that my body doesn't let me down and that I heal quickly and can get back to exercise and my life soon. My DD is getting married in May and I don't want anything to jeopardize my ability to be helpful to her and to enjoy the big day! There's nothing like trying to squeeze everything in! -

Lynn: I've been wondering how you were doing! Glad your alive and made it to the computer! It's interesting the different prices. I am having the pain pump and was charged $295. Maybe you all should come to Utah for your PS?! Glad you didn't get nauseated this time. So you don't feel to tight without an unfill? I'm getting a lower profile port, but the doctor is putting the same amount of fill in that I have now. So no unfill for me either. Guess I'm glad, I've heard of a few people who gained weight because of an unfill and really are you going to feel up to going and get a fill, right after a TT? I don't think so! I hope you continue to heal well! -
Port Replacement Surgery Due to Port Infection
kareyquilts replied to Summer87's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Summer: I wish you the best with your upcoming surgery. I am having my port replaced (to a low profile port) on March 4th along with a tummy tuck. If I'm feeling well enough I'll let you know how it all went. I'm a little further down the line with my lapband and I just want to reassure you that you are going to love your band once you get your new port and have some restriction! I remember well the days when it was all will power on my part and I just want you to know that those days will end. With that being said don't expect it to happen for a while. It takes sometimes 3 or 4 fills to get to the perfect level. It is going to get easier though and thank goodness that your over your infection. I wish you the best. -
Marillon: Very exciting! I'm having a tummy tuck and breast lift on March 4th! You should join the Feb/March Plastic surgery forum as well. Very nice people there who are all experiencing the same things. So, you'll be doing the stomach first and then your breasts at a later date? Will you be having a breast reduction or another procedure? Does insurance cover any of this in Holland? Can't wait to hear more. I wish you the best!

Next step in finding the real me

Neil: You've got some impressive bruises going there! Let's compare bruises in a few weeks, k? How's your blood pressure and energy levels? Is your cold still causing you a lot of grief? When do you have to go back to work? Speak to us man! -
It's so weird, I decided to be on hold and not try and lose any more weight until after my PS and I lost 2 pounds! Maybe I'm burning more nervous energy! Mimin: It's good to see you in back into spin and feeling better! Anyone else out there? How are you doing?

JulieNYC's medial thigh lift, breast augmentation and mons lift
kareyquilts replied to JulieNYC's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Julie: Losing 15 pounds from the flu is not a good weight loss plan! Your poor body has just been through too much! The first time I used Wellbutrin it was like a ray of sunshine came down from heaven and helped me find way way back into life. I couldn't believe what a difference it made. I had terribly post-partnum depression after my fourth child. I tried it again a couple of years ago and it just made me hyper and more irritable. It's amazing how that works. I think you have your new lifestyle down well or you would have gained a little with the birth control and all. Your doing great, if you can just get healthy! I rooting for you. You're a sweet heart! Take care! -

Julie: So glad you're feeling better. Thanks for taking the time to thoughtfully reply to my questions. I didn't know there were low profile implants. I guess I didn't do much research. My PS didn't ask me, they just measured, ordered three sizes and that was that. They are silicone and they will be under the muscle and that is about the extent of my knowledge. I know that they ordered 321 cc, 359 cc and 371 cc. Odd sizes, huh? I told the PS that I wanted the smallest size that would fit. He told me that I was broad shouldered and tall and I wouldn't want to be too small. I said that I was also a very conservative person. I really don't want to walk into church in a few weeks and have everyone's eyes go immediately to my chest! Do you think I should call their office and ask about the low profile implants? The whole reason I'm getting implants is because I was going to be so flat on the upper portion of my breast and the PS said that the lift wouldn't help that much. I am definetly going to insist that he puts the smallest size that fits in when he marks me up etc. I've only met with him 3 times already. He's going to start thinking I'm a trouble maker. This was an incredibly hard decision for me. It wasn't hard to decide on the lift or the TT, but having another foreign object in my body that something could potentially go wrong with was. I think I'll look lots better, though, so, I just have to have some faith in my PS's ability and judgement. Don't you think so? Or, should I be more proactive? -

Mary: Pre-op went well. Not fun to pose for the pictures, but I managed to get through it. Nesting right now, trying to get the house in shape, get my ducks in row, etc. Bad guess of the nerves! -
Had a good work out today. I'm down another pound! YEAH! I've got a head cold and am a little worried, because I can't have surgery if I'm sick! Anyone have any good suggestions for speeding this cold along? I'm taking Cold MD and EmergenC.

Okay, busy getting my prescriptions filled, making lists for soft foods, lo cal drinks, ice, etc. Trying to get my house in tip top shape. My mom is coming to help me, so I've got to get the guest room in order. Leaving for Florida on Thursday. Giving a 75th birthday party for my Mom, then flying back on Sunday. Surgery on Tuesday. Too much to do! I better get off the computer! I'm trying to stop thinking about the upcoming pain and focus more positive energy on the healing process and trying to remember to breathe! -
Whose: Don't you love those hotel exercise rooms?! You're doing great! Way to stick with under rather difficult circumstances. It's paying off and it does create those life time habits everyone says you need to be successful!

Nana: I was a 36 D, but with the last 10 pounds lost, I'm probably a deflated C. I would like to be a D again. What do you think? -
Alynne: Hate to hear about your set back, but it hasn't been that long. You're doing great!

LJM: I am an old mom! It's very wonderful! I have a 31, 28, 26, 22 and a soon to be 9 year old! I wouldn't trade the experience for the world. She keeps me motivated to take care of myself. She is fun and we wouldn't change anything, even if I am a little old. Not everyone's life takes the same path, as you well know! -
Ceradad: The aggravated burglary was because they shot at my son. The will get an automatic 5-30 years. So sad. Such a waste for those stupid young men. I guess they were heroine addicts. I guess they'll be clean by the time they get out!

Okay, I went back had my pictures retaken (GRRR) and talked to the surgeon again. He showed what size I would be with a lift only. It looked like about a B. He concurred that I would look more in portion with implants, so I'm going to stop second guessing everything and go for it! Implants, the whole works, here I come!
