Kareyquilts TT, BL, Lipo & BA
kareyquilts replied to kareyquilts's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I've decided to start a new thread for my 2nd round of plastic surgery. Here is the link: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f12/kareyquilts-arms-butt-thighs-oh-my-77529/#post1016720 -
Can't believe this day has finally arrived! In less than two weeks, I'm going to have a tummy tuck, breast lift with augmentation and lipo. I think I was 20 shades of red today when I had to get my before pictures. :wub:Then the nurse called to say that my front shot didn't turn out well and to please come back in the next few days and do a retake! :scared2:Oh, bother! I have such mixed feelings. I still expect the PS to call and tell me that maybe I should lose a few more pounds first. I can't believe how much shame I still have in my body. I wonder when you get over this?! I think I had to sign about 30 different places for consent and possible complications. Reading everything that could happen is enough to make you want to run right out of the office! I remember that I felt the same way before my lapband surgery, so, I'm hoping that it's just pre-surgery jitters! Trying to picture what I'll look like afterwards is really hard. I keep grabbing my stomach and trying to picture it smooth and lumpless! Okay, that's hard to do! I couldn't decide if I should have the breast augmentation and at first the nurse tried to talk me out of it, saying that I would just be smaller and perky. I was ready to accept her opinion, but then she said, after closer inspection that she thought I should get the augmentation. It's hard to know when you don't get to talk to your surgeon about it. I've seen him twice, but the augmentation is more of a last minute thing. I just hope I made the right decision. It's all very nerve wracking. I'm trying to put a positive spin on all this, because I really have a bad case of the nerves! I want to share my journey with anyone who wants to come along. I will post before shots with my after shots. Love to have you join me on this adventure! Wahoo!:cursing:

Becky: Haven't heard from you in while, is everything okay? Frangi: What's happening? Wondering if you like the size of your bottom now that you're use to it? -
Tracyinks Time for TT! FREAKY
kareyquilts replied to TracyinKS's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
A breast lift won't add much recovery time. You'd before healed from the breast lift before the TT. When I had it, I barely noticed it at all. There is some swelling, but it really wasn't that painful, really a piece of cake! -
Loridee's journey: 4 weeks from today

I did buy the special breast ice packs and the tummy ones. I liked and used the tummy ones. I didn't find the breasts ones that helpful, because there was so much padding over the breasts that the ice didn't penetrate very well. Ice does help and probably any kind of ice packs would work. -
Shalee's October Overhaul
kareyquilts replied to Shalee04's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Shalee: Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! It's so exciting and scary all wrapped up into one, isn't it?! I'm sure that getting all the skin off will help with your weight loss plalteau. I've lost over 20 pounds since my TT and BL. You'll also be able to exercise better with the apron gone. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to have a flat tummy. You are going to love it. I'm having round 2 of my plastic journery on October 15th, so we can commiserate together. Wishing you the best! -
Tracyinks Time for TT! FREAKY
kareyquilts replied to TracyinKS's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Tracy: If it's one thing I've learned, you need/must put yourself first. My DH didn't want me to get the lapband, my first ps or the one coming up. Change is hard for some people. I am married to a wonderful man who loves me, but he worries about the possible dangers of surgery (he is a veterinary surgeon), doesn't like to see me in pain and thinks I look fine. Who can complain about that? However, he is happy that I have lost weight, he likes my tt and new breasts and I'm sure he'll like my arms, butt and thighs! Sometimes, you've just got to follow your own drummer and eventually, everyone will understand your song! -

Steph's PS Journey - Breast Reduction/Lift, Medial Thigh Lift and Full Abdominoplasty
kareyquilts replied to bosteph's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Well the upper ab swelling is not fun. Hope it resolves soon. Isn't it funny how everyone is so different? I'm going to pay good money to get my butt enlarged when I have my back thighs lifted. Too bad we can't trade around a bit! LOL. -

Stephanie: I would think that the swelling would be getting better by now. Are you just swollen at the end of the day or after a workout? Did you have butt augmentation? Why is your butt larger? Is that the part that is swollen? Hope everything is alright. Keep us informed! -
Swell hell is not fun! It will get better!

Manatee's turn for plastics
kareyquilts replied to Manatee's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Well, you look great and it's good that you're being so diligent with the compression garments. They make a big difference. Sounds like you're healing well and will be back to 100% before you know it! Isn't it amazing how life changing this procedure can be!? -

Tracy: You are going to love having a flat tummy. It really changes your perspective on all the weight you've lost. Suddenly, you look so much better that you understand what you've truly accomplished. Believe me, it its worth it! Maybe you can have your surgery on the same day as mine, that would be cool (Oct. 15th). Here is a before and after of my TT and BL. Keep in mind that I'm having an anchor revision of my TT with my lower body lift. -

Manatee: Glad you're doing well. What is the long horizontal scar for if you just had lipo? I'm a little confused. -
Loridee's journey: 4 weeks from today
kareyquilts replied to loridee11's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I did not get an unfill and had some issues with swelling and pressure on my band. I got a pill stuck about 5 days out of surgery and had to get a complete unfill. My band doc said I wouldn't need an unfill before my PS and so I went on her advice. I think it's about 50-50 on the unfill. If I were you, I would get a slight unfill. This time around I am not at the perfect spot and I'm leaving it that way until after I heal. My experience is that that will be better. -
Frangipani & TexasBecky get Reconstructed

Frangi: Glad the doc reassured you and that you are now familar with another device! LOL! My absolute favorite TV series is Monk and you can get all the years on DVD. I imagine Blockbusters has it. I have never watched 24 and I'm going to watch about 3 years worth while I recover! I'm coming down with a head cold. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to nip it in the bud? I'm a little over 2 weeks out for my surgery. This is not good. I spent the last 2 days at a friends cabin with 9 other ladies and we stayed up to about 2 am both nights. I'm not a late night person and I'm sure I brought this on myself. I'm starting Emergen-C today and Zicam. Does any one have any other ideas? I'm wondering if I should call and get a Z pack? The glands in my neck are swollen. -

Congratulations! I hope it all works out for you! -
Karen: Don't weigh yourself for a while. In the end, you will have lost some weight, but the swelling can mess up the scale and your mind! I think that the anesthesia affects the appetite, unfortunately, it comes back! LOL!

kareyquilts replied to renewedhope's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Of course your nervous! Your doc should have taken notes on what she told you. Glad your going back in with DH. It will be helpful to go over it again. If she thinks you only need the smaller vertical line, why not do a horizontal thigh lift? I'd ask her that while your in there. Now, try and relax because worrying about it won't help. Make a good list of questions and then don't worry. -
Karen: Sorry you're having a rough day. It will get better! Try adding a stool softener to your regime also. Miralax is great, but it won't hurt you to add a little something if you need it (don't do it for too long). I think it took me almost a week to have a BM, you just might have to give it time. Rest up!

Dr. Schulman: I did have the muscle repair with my original TT 6 months ago. I will keep you posted. I appreciate you so much. Thank you, again!

Frangi: Now you musn't blame yourself for this! Stuff happens! It's easy to get fixated on something, especially when it has to do with your body. I would be the same way. I'm glad that your going back to Miami, if only to confirm that all it well. Who knows maybe you can have some fun while you're there!
