Shontel that is great progress. How much more od you want to lose? I know my lose is going to be slower because I don't have as much to lose. Your pictures you look tiny so do worry to much! You are doing a great job.

kkandrod I didn't even call. I know the reason I got sick. I was trying to make myself burp and that caused me to get sick. I will call on Monday though! I haven't gotten sick anymore since then. I got an ounce of unjury broth in this morning and am going to try some more in a bit. But my husband and daughter were eating Mickey D's! UGGG! Actually it didn't bother me too much! It is beautiful weather here finallY! Yeah for that!!!

I don't work, well I have 2 kids and a husband so they keep me busy! My hubby took off 3 days and he goes back to work on Sunday. I have 9 year old and a 9 month old so the 9 year old helps alot! I have felt pretty good today. We even went out on a walk! Eating lots of ice chips! As far as coming home, I just hate to be away from my family and you can't rest well in the hospital! Thanks everyone!

Well i got the pain med and nausea med down and they made me SO sleepy so I took a 2 hour nap! Feeling better already! I even ate a popscilce and kept it down! Thanks everyone! My coordinator at the hospital and surgeon said it took 39 minutes to do the procedure and was the first patient ever to come hom the day of that surgery! I guess they won't forget me!

Thanks everyone! I slept pretty good for a while but could not get comfortable anymore so I am up. I took a sip of Water and then I vomitted bile :001_smile: I didn't get the nausea med filled so I guess I better. It also had a little bit of blood in it. Is that normal? I will call the doc in the am, was just curious of anyone else experienced this. Thanks@

I made it through! Headed home in a bit!!!

I think what you are feeling is normal. I am scheduled for surgery in 2 days and I feel the exact same way as you. My children are my LIFE. I think it has something to do with this being an elective procedure for me. I haven't felt this way for any previous surgeries I have had but they were not elective. So I am thinking for me that has a lot to do with it. I am TRYING to be as confident as possible and know that there are many surgeries performed every day and 99% of them go as planned with no complications. I know we will both be fine and be so happy with our decisions! Let's try to face this surgery head on with a postitve attitude and KNOW that everything will work out fine!

Welcome! How exciting that you are taking charge of your life. I think when you lose a parent it is a real wake up call. I lost my father 3 years ago and it made me realize I had a lot to live for and I didn't want to leave this Earth any sooner than I had to. And by making better choices for my health it will hopefully let me live longer to see my grandkids grow up and maybe even great grandkids! LOL!! What part of Texas are you from? I am outside of Houston. I hope I can make the meet up Tiff! That would be SO neat!
-
Well I will be with you Tia and Robin! I too am being sleeved on the 11th! Good luck to you both!
-
Carrie, welcome! My doctor did not require any pre op diet for me. I am doing Atkins shakes 4 times a day for the 5 days leading up to surgery. But it was my choice. I think it depends on the surgeon and the patient. I too am self pay so I feel your pain there, but I feel that this is saving ourselves from alot of other problems that could arise in the future! Best of luck at your appt.

LyndaRN replied to LyndaRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ahhh thanks girls! I am so glad to know others that have come home. I am not a stranger to surgeries all but a couple have been outpatient so I know I can do it! Thanks so much for your stories! I appreciate it! -
Anyone come home the same day?
LyndaRN replied to LyndaRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon only keeps you in 1 night. I know I will have the leak test done prior to discharge. I guess that I think I have several major surgerys and come home the same day or within 2 days so I guess I was thinking along those lines. I guess I will just see how I feel! Thank you! -
Well I had my pre op appt at the hospital, paid the surgeon:eek: and am set for Thrusday. Now I have to start the pre op diet tomorrow.... I am nervous excited and scared. Was anyone else like that? The baractric coord. was a patient at one time too so that made me feel better. I have had lots of surgeries but never been this nervous. Any words of advice???

Congrats! I will move to the losers bench on Thursday with you!

You have done such an awesome job! I have choosen not to tell ALOT of people about the wls but when I start to lose and they ask I will probably tell. I just feel it is so much pressure to lose weight with others watching. But it is funny because the few that I have told, told me about others who have lost weight with wls! So I have a small group of people around to help me! Congrats again!

LyndaRN replied to LyndaRN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Tiff and Dee you both are SO my motivation! Well among lots of other things. But to see where you both have come from means that I too can do it! :crying: Started the pre op diet today and it has been pretty good! The evening is my most difficult time noramlly so I am sure that will be a challenge! SO ready for this! Not scared either today! I know a new me is ready to emerge!!! -
I am in the single digits now! 9 days until my surgery!!! I am excited nervous and scared. I have cancelled 2 outings because I will be on the liquid diet and unsure how I would handle those situations! I am SO ready for this next phase of my life. I feel like I have a very bright future and my little 9 month old will one day say, who is that lady holding me?? Oh mommy that is you?? LOL!!! I am SO glad I found this forum with such wonderful people! Lynda

WOOHOO!! You look beautiful from the inside out! You are such an inspiration to me and I know I can do this with the people here and you as cheerleaders! -
Kabranda good luck! Let me know how you are feeling!!! Are you staying overnight? I plan to come home that day. I am only doing 5 day liquid diet. Not mandatory but I wanted to, to give me a jump start. Keep us informed of how you are doing!
-
I know your fears! I am having my surgery in 10 days! I don't have to do a pre op diet but I am. But he only suggests 5 days on it. This is going to be a whole new change, but one I am ready to embrace! I KNOW this website will help us along our journey. Best of luck to you!

Girl you make it sound way worse. Think about how far you have come in 1 year!!! You look amazing and beautiful! Congrats on your success!

Well I had my pre-op appointment today and finally got the diet paperwork. And I am a little shocked. After reading so much here and seeing the amount of carbs it takes to really be sucessful I am left wondering. We talked how in the first 3 months especially that you stomach is tight and to take advantage of it and try to lose alot of weight then. Considering I want to loose 60-70 pounds I would love to lose 50 in the first 3 months. Is that a good goal or am I setting myself up for failure??? Ok here are a few things that are bothering me about their diet. In the clear liquid stage they have a sample day. It has 800 cals, and carb intake is 80-100 grams:crying: REALLY??? On full liquids they have 106 g of carbs... I want this to be a life changing way of life! Would it be bad if I aimed A LOT lower for the carbs?? Also they do a clear liquid for 1 week. What have others done. I am thinking I may extend it to 10 days at least just in case of a leak. Any advice?? Thanks. Lynda

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I for the most part am not telling people. A few close friends and my family know but I am not telling everyone. My reason now is different. I am worried about being a failure. Even though I have the right mind frame and know I am truly doing this to change my life, I have NEVER suceeded losing all the weight I have wanted to. SO I decided to take the safer route and not tell. Plus with the amount I have to lose it may take me longer and I don't want people asking me all the time or wondering/talking to others how I haven't lost... But Dee and Tiff you are my inspiration and strength right now. If you can do it so can I!

Had my pre-op appt. today...
LyndaRN replied to LyndaRN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks girls. ALL of the carbs listed come from juice. It says no sugar added juice, and it has it listed to drink several times a day. I don't drink juice now so I am not going to start! I will discuss this the nutririonist when I see her.
