WOW! How much has my life changed in 5 weeks. From being a Diet Cokeaholic too nothing but Water is something I thought I would never change. Just couldn't see my life without it! But I am free! I am SO happy I had this surgery I know I would have continued down a destructive path if not for this. I am glad I did it before I damaged myself even more. I took some measurements last week and had lost almost 12 inches in a month! I have cleaned out my closet and gotten rid of unflattering clothes. I got into the jeans I haven't worn in YEARS!! I have a bunch of stuff going on ebay and to Goodwill. Today when I got on the scale I am down to a weight I was 18 months ago when I finally got pregnant and stayed pregnant after an IVF cycle. As of today, 1 day shy of 5 weeks I am down 30 pounds! I LOVE putting on clothes and each time I do they get baggier instead of tighter! I dry ALL my clothes now! LOL! I am so glad for this board because I don't know where I would turn without all of the helpful people here.

Tiffany you need to be the poster child for the Sleeve! You are rockin' that dress! I love that one. May have to get one for me to wear this summer!!! Congrats!

Well as many of you sleevers know, or maybe will know, that we continue to wear our same clothes once they become comfortable and beyond. I kept wearing my same 2 pairs of jeans because they were comfortable and loose and probably made me feel good because although hardly anyone had commented on my weightloss they made ME realize I had lost weight. So I had been thinking I am about the weight I was before I got pregnant with my son. So I dug out the jeans I wore for my birthday right before I found out I was pregnant. I remember feeling SO good that night in my skin! Well I put them on and they FIT!! A little tighter in the waist than I prefer but a few more pounds and they will be PERFECT! They I dug out some from many years ago... again FIT! WOW! I can not believe it! This has never happened to me before! I am going to get rid of my comfortable pants and look forward to going out and buying some more JEANS!

I have been using unjury but would like to find something I can buy in the store vs. ordering online. Anyone know of something comparable? What about Myoplex? Thanks! -

I am into my 2nd week after surgery. The last 2 days I have not lost anything. I am not sure if I am not eating drinking enough or what. I guess from years of dieting that I feel if I don't eat I will lose better than if I eat! Here is what I had yesterday: Protein shake broth out of chicken Soup.... out of town and no other options SF pudding 2 SF popsciles 2 bottles of Water I am so scared that I won't lose anymore! Can someone please help!

Girls I wish you both success in getting pregnant and I hope it is QUICK! When I was 34 I went to the OB about not being able to conceive and she laughed at me. Well needless to say 4 years, 5 iui's, 2 miscarriages and 2 ivfs later I got my baby! He is now almost 10 months old and a joy. When I was younger(28) I got pregnant within 6 months. I don't know if it was my age or my weight. After I lost 20 lbs I got pregnant again and didn't miscarry. I hope neither of you have ANY difficulties. Take extra Folic Acid and continue the healthy lifestyle you have been doing. It will pay off. I truly believe if you want to be a momma you will! I know the feeling of all your friends and relatives getting pregnant and you not. So if you ever need a friend or an ear I am right here. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Have fun trying and TRY not to think about it too much. I do have a fertility monitor that if either of you want to try you are more than welcome too! HUGS!

Worried about starting full liquids....
LyndaRN posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tomorrow I can start full liquids. I have lost about a pound a day since I started weighing myself. I am SO worried that when I take in Protein shakes, etc that my weight loss will slow. I don't want it to slow this early in the game(tomorrow will be 1 week since surgery). Anyone that can share if their weightloss changed after going on to full liquids or advancing their diet? Any help is appreciated!:001_tongue: -
That is my sleeve date too! Congrats!

So glad to hear all went well! Can't wait to hear from you again!

Well I had my surgery this morning and was home by 4. I have some tenderness and some gas but nothing horrible. The worse part is my mouth is so dry. I keep sucking on ice chips but still not helping alot. SO glad this part is over. Now I just want to join the loosers bench. Staying off the scale will be the hard part!
-
Well today I have had a cup of SF Jello and a SF popscile and Water. I feel like I have cravings because my family is eating good stuff but I am happy when I step on the scale every morning and see the numbers drop! I am not worried with 80% of my stomach being gone. I think if I would have kept going I would have had a lot more health problems than just over weight. Yes I am a RN!

Sorry for the delay Trish, I spent the day with my mom yesterday! I have never really had issues with reflux and since surgery I still have no signs of it. I hope you find what works for you! Good luck and so far I love my sleeve!!!!

My doctor has told me that I can come home the same day as my surgery. But when I spoke with the nurse on Friday at the hospital she said no one had ever done that. So I am wondering if I am crazy to want to come home? Anyone ever done it? Thanks.

Trish4 I went in to the dr. wanting the Lap Band. Didn't really know too much about the sleeve. As we talked he thought that I would do better with the sleeve. I had around 73 pounds to loose to get to a normal bmi so I think I didn't have enough to lose for a bypass. But I wasn't ready to go that drastic.

Katldy congrats on being sleeved! Welcome to the new you! I agree that day 2 was worse. It is really hard to describe. I think you have the bloating from the surgery plus the incisional pain is starting to set it. It is a bad soreness but you use your stomach muscles to do so much! Then I needed to burp but couldn't and that causes pain. It is all that trapped gas in your body and it moves around making it hard to get comfortable. I got my pain med filled the 2nd day and when I took it, it made a world of difference. It is also the day you wonder if you did the right thing!
