hello, had my surgery in US-also 3-4 hrs away-and they told me beforehand to expect to stay 2-5 days. I had surgery on Thursday 830am and was released on Friday 3pm. Believe me, I had some talking to do, surgeon said one more day which would be sat. but she would release me if I could keep down the broth & Jello they gave me. I did it! Nurse was nice enough give me Xtra drugs for the drive, I did ok on the road. today is post op day 4.

I went to US hospital-heres what I'm glad I brought: Toothbrush/paste My own shampoos/body soap/deoderant chapstick slippers/socks with the rubber stuff on them gasx most favorite is my own pjs, gown kept falling off me and at one point, i was walking the hall with my booty hanging out for all to see!-tape fell off!! OK I was drugged enought not to care LOL Make sure your pjs fit your stomach without pulling. -IF dr doesnt give you some kind of acid reducer-make sure you have some on hand. When home I got a couple gallons of drinking water, its so refreshing in fridge. also make sure you have protein supp drink, you can pre make and sip on it during day! thats about it!

hi susieq, I was just gettin ready to IM you to see how your doing;) I may have a answer to the weight differences. My anesthesiologist said different drs use different drugs, and the one in particular he used worked on swelling. So I may not be as swollen as you b.c of the different drugs used on us. What are you eating? right now the most I get is 40 oz water, 1/4 cup broth, 1/4 jello, and I try to get 4-5 sips of fusion protein supp drink. we will all lose our weight!! hang in there. I am so happy i did this, I have NO REGRETS! keep in touch!

SLEEVEGENIE (((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) you are so right, it did happen, I'm here, day 3 post op and really wasnt that bad. Of course the 1st day youre questioning yourself "what did i do?" but after day 2 you see such remarkable improvements, really cant complain. Like i said this is day 3 post op and I'm down 10 pounds!! is that for real? lol EVERYDAY GETS EASIER AND EASIER. At first I walked kinda slouched down but now I'm pretty much walking straight up now. i do get acidy kinda action once in a while and some spasms but it goes away quickly. Finally sleeved!! Went in on Thursday due to cancellation, out by Friday afternoon! I still cannot believe the "i cant wait til its all over" is over!! Working on pain management & my hydration right now, not really worried about the protein til I feel up to it. Want to thank everyone for their support! Take care, God bless, determined1

last thing my nurse told me was if you dont drink and become dehyrated, you will get nausaus. using a sippee cup helps me too. Lets keep in touch!! kelly

Wish me luck peeps, tomorrow is MY day finally! Dont know if you have read my previous threads, but after about 7 months of trying to get this surgery, and having to go through 2 other surgeries earlier this year. Then finally getting my date of sept 17 only to have dr get jury duty..what luck huh? finally pushing my surgery date up to sept 9th! wow one day's notice! Please say a prayer for me... thank you, see ya on the losers side!! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ok update, after all this, I get a call toda that there was a cancellation and that my surgery can be moved up to THURSDAY! OMG!!! thats the day after tomorrow. I am waiting on one call in the morning & that to confirm with the hospital (that they will have room for me) I am so ready for this, excited and now trying to PACK... I am drawing a blank, what do I pack?????????????omg...goosebumps...please pray if I have surgery, everything will go GRRrreat!! THank you...XXXXOOOOO:thumbup:

well as you all know, my surgery is scheduled for sept 17th. i just got a call today from drs office.... listen to this... because the dr got JURY DUTY on sept 17-thats MY DAY!! ughhhhhh soo dr is trying to get out of it (and has before) but they wont know til the day before (sept 16th) at 7pm! i live 3-4 hrs away and planned on being at the hotel at that time! I CANNOT believe this &^$%$# what do you think? arent sugeons exempt from jury duty? I am so sad, I've waited for this since January, had to put it on hold due to hysterectomy, and now this....
