Hi Matilda,
I went to my two nutrition/information classes on Thursday. Kaiser requires that we take a ton of classes and by the time we have the surgery we are really ready for it. I am 6 pounds under the weight they required me to lose for the surgery too. I am ready I think. My job isn't really sedentary. I am a teacher on special assignment for our district and I do a lot of filming and work out at the different school sites. I think 2 weeks will be enough time off, but I will still have to be careful not to over commit myself when I come back to work. At the class on Thursday they said that the first month or so expect to be tired like a toddler and to expect to fall asleep easily at night.

Hi Matilda. I am taking one week off work, but since I am a teacher I backed my surgery week up to spring break so I actually have two weeks off. The "owies" looked okay. They were glued shut. There was one that was bigger than I expected, but that was to install the port. Nicole said they didn't hurt too much. I have 2 nutrition classes on Thursday and will get my final blood work done then. The hospital that I have to go to for all these appointments and surgery is 2 hours west of my house. I hate that. I have one last appointment with my surgeon on the 11th and then will be good to go for surgery. I weighed in at Weight Watchers today and was down another pound. I hear you about wanting it over with. So many hoops to jump though to get healthy.

Hi Matilda,
I am doing okay. I went to a support group meeting yesterday and met some other people who have just gone through and are getting ready to go through surgery. One nice lady even showed me her "owies". With 22 days left, I admit I am getting nervous, but excited too. Do you work outside the home? If so, how long are you planning to take off work?
Have a good week.

Hi Fiona,
I hear we are getting banded on the same day. March 22nd.
Matilda suggested I "friend" you if that is okay with you.
