Anyone Still Surprised?
LapBandBobbi replied to summer134's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's great not being afraid of the scales anymore! -
ONEDERLAND! - Never thought I'd see the day!
LapBandBobbi replied to Twinkles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome! -
I can't do the chewable one either. I went to GNC and bought an "Active" pack. My problem is two of the pills are so big I can't take them until late afternoon. Nothing worse than getting one stuck!

My clothes don't hurt!!
LapBandBobbi replied to mikki21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last year my winter coat was tight to zip up. This year, I put on the same coat, and was amazed at how big it was. I bought it new last year, so I didn't want to buy another one this year. I feel a little guilty wearing it, but it's something you can weat that's a little too big that won't fall off! I'm sure next year I will definately have to buy a new one! -
Second guessing myself
LapBandBobbi replied to Stephy5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 1/28/10 and am very happy about my choice. I have had no problems with band slippage, erosion, etc. Don't dwell on all of the negatives and let that give you a reason to stop your progress. Focus on all of the positives that come from losing weight. I am amazed at how much better I feel and how differently I look at food now. My weight loss has been a slow process, but I am very happy with my progress. There are so many benefits that outweigh the negatives in this process. You need to look at it as positive as possible. The pre-op diet is only 2 weeks out of the beginning of your new life. Take it a day at a time and don't get discouraged. If you're hungry, drink an extra glass of Water or another protien shake. Be strong. Good luck with your journey. -

Christmas Challenge
LapBandBobbi replied to AmandaGW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just looked at the spreadsheet and it looks good to me. Unfortunatly, I couldn't post a loss this week. I've stayed the same Hoping I can shed these last 4 lbs by Christmas! -
I just want to eat a hamburger...
LapBandBobbi replied to sekinj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally understand what you're saying. But, sometimes I look at other people eating that big hamburger and think, wow how do they do that? And sometimes, it's kind of sickening to see what people are able to do to themselves eating that way. I am soooo glad I'm banded! -
I had a slow down on my weight loss for about 6 weeks. Very frustrating. But finally the lbs have been coming off again. I started working out on a regular basis and I'm sure that has helped. But, I have also been pretty tight with my band lately. I think sometimes if we go out to dinner, I stress about not being able to eat and then I can't eat. I know I don't always make the right choices but it is a learning process and hopefully I'm finally learning. Getting past the 1/2 way point was a good motivator for me. Now I take it 10 lbs at a time. It is very exciting to see the numbers getting smaller on the scales.

I've got WII Fit, but would like to get the Biggest Loser Challenge. Maybe for Christmas???

Dr. John Pennings - I am not impressed
LapBandBobbi replied to Dreamingof139's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Sounds to me like you need to have this discussion with the doctor and let him know how the staff has been treating you. No healthcare professional should be rude and hostile to their patients! -
I can feel the band, can you?
LapBandBobbi replied to hiddnstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel my port, but not my band. I do find that while sitting down to eat sometimes it's uncomfortable, but I associate that to the food not going thru the band. -
wanna change info in my profile

What did you do
LapBandBobbi replied to tabatha lynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't follow a specific program either. I was just careful with what I ate, listened to my surgeons advise and listened to my body. My results have been slower than some, but I am very happy with everything. Just remember, this is a lifestyle change - you cannot follow a "diet" for the rest of your life. Set realistic goals and change your lifestyle. I havre recently started exercising and am beginning to feel great. I took small steps, but I believe this has helped me be successful. I don't look at it as a diet, just a way of life. Good Luck! -
Federal employee insurance
LapBandBobbi replied to Jensharley's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was approved by BCBS within a couple of days after they received my info. They did not require me to do the pre-diet and I did not have any medical issues. Only the obesity. Good luck! -
Advice for Husband who is Micro-Managing Food Intake
LapBandBobbi replied to HezTri-s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been lucky and my hubby is very supportative. I don't feel guilty if I eat something that is not healthy and he doesn't say anything either. Both of us know this is a process and we are both very happy with the progress I've made so far. Hang in there. Sometimes, it gets harder before they realize this is a lifestyle change. It's a change for both of you and your relationship with food. Good luck - you're doing great so far! -

I was banded on____since then I have lost____!
LapBandBobbi replied to extraonme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 1/28/10 and have lost 54 lbs so far. -
I checked my drivers license weight and I am now only 4 lbs heavier than what it says! I think this kind of qualifies as a "non-scale victory". How does everyone else stack up to their drivers license?
-
I was hoping to lose 75 lbs my first year. Not sure I'm going to make it, but I'm very happy with where I'm at so far. I started exercising the last couple of month and now the weight is finally moving again. So, who knows - maybe I can do it after all. Not going to stress about it either way. I know this is a life changing event and I'm good with that. Hope everyone else is doing well.

NSV - Drivers License weight
LapBandBobbi replied to LapBandBobbi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am exactly what my drivers license says now! I was only off by 53 lbs! -
I hiccup 3 times after eating. I also take this as a sign to stop. It's odd though, because it is only 3x's. I've been doing this for the last 3 months since I've gotten good restriction.
