My doctor's office takes one before and another after 50 pounds lost. I believe they take again every 25 pounds until you are at goal.

Surgery 4/18....getting prepared, prep help.....
LapBandBobbi replied to slm2007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On thing I wish someone would have told me was to bring a pillow in the car for the ride home. Holding a pillow on your stomach will help with bumps along the route home. I had a 2 hour drive home that was not pleasant. Would I do it again..... ABSOLUTELY! Good Luck! -
Once you get good restriction, that helps with control. For me, it was a slow process and sometimes I still think I can eat more than I actually can. Hang in there and listen to your body. If your body is telling you not to take another bite, then don't. You'll feel better in the long run.

I was banded in Jan 2010 too. And I must admit, I have an occassional beer and chips, but in moderation. If you have your band at your "sweet spot", you shouldn't be able to eat the cheeseburgers and pizza. Work with your surgeon and get the band tight enough to do it's job. Mentally, it's difficult to change the way we think about food. Also, have you started exercising? That really helped me kick things off in a good direction. Not only have I started losing inches, I feel so much better. Good luck and hang in here on the message boards. Like you said, there is a lot of good information here.

Hang in there.... your body is just readjusting itself to a new lifestyle. Keep following the plan and don't stress about the pounds. I have had many times I didn't lose weight over a period of a few weeks, but have lost inches along the way. Be patient.

Almost all of my friends on MFP are lapbanders, so feel free to friend request them too. They're a great group of people and we keep each other inspired! -
This has been Pretty Easy so Far.....
LapBandBobbi replied to mattie7632's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with all of the posts on this so far. I know my weight loss could be better - or faster, if I would journal, but it's difficult for me to do it. I really don't think I go over 1200 calories most days, so I just don't sweat it. -

Congratulations! What an amazing accomplishment! Keep it up!

You need to discuss this with your surgeon. Sounds dangerous to continue doing what you're doing.

LapBandBobbi replied to carolann0117's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! I still feel like I'm an intruder in the regular "petite" section of the stores. Keep up the good work! -
Check out the champion.com site. They have different types of bra's for different activity levels. I believe they have your size. I've purchased about 3 from them and love them. Good luck!

Can you be to overweight for lap band
LapBandBobbi replied to catherinecon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just attended a seminar again last night with my surgeon and I believe he said he would do surgery on up to a 56 bmi. Good luck! -
Just take it one day at a time. You can talk yourself through the hunger most of the time. Find something to occupy your time - for me, if I found something active to do, it helped. Sometime, I just went to bed early. Also just remember this is the beginning of your lifestyle change. Once you've gotten past the surgery, it gets a little easier. Trust me - a little hunger at first is worth what you lose in the long run! Hang in there, you can do it!

Time to find a new plastic surgeon. If they're too lazy to help with insurance, they might be too lazy to do a good job on your tummy tuck!

Crazy appointment with my PCP yesterday..
LapBandBobbi replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Many PCP don't understand the procedure and the weight loss compared to gastric by-pass. Surely, she understands losing at a slower pace is healthier. Keep educating her and keep up the good work! -
Which food are forever restricted?
LapBandBobbi replied to momnear40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Popcorn for me is no problem. I also keep a can of nuts at my desk in case I get hungry thru the day - I figure it's better than a candy bar
