  1. Congratulations to all of you so far! I am on track to lose 70 lbs by my 1 year anniversary. I will be very happy with that. It has been a slow but steady process. I've very happy with my decision to be banded :scared2:
  2. Good luck to you all! It's mostly mind over matter. If you try not to concentrate on it, you will be fine. Just find something to keep youself busy, it helps! Drink lots and lots of water. After my 2 week pre-diet, I got to the hospital to find out I only lost 6 lbs! Talk about mad... I thought I would have at least lost 10-12 lbs. But, it is all worth it. Hang in there!

  4. My doc's rules were 1.5 oz every 15 minutes.
  5. Congratulations! My scales show me in Onderland, but I want to wait to see it on the doc's scales! My NVS today - - bought 2 sizes smaller :tt1:

    Doing well

Congratulations on where you are at so far! You'll beat that 200# mark with ease!! Hang in there!
  7. Since I had my 3rd fill, it seems I vomit every day. I can't eat until after noon and then sometimes it's difficult. I find that I can eat the same thing each day and some days it goes down and other days it doesn't. I really don't want to have any fluid taken out. Any suggestions?
  8. I usually can't eat until sometime after noon. I have had 3 fills and it seems it gets tighter in the week or two after the fill. I sometimes have problems just drinking protein shakes before noon. But, I'm not really hungry either.

    Vomiting every day...

My doc said to go on fluids for a couple of days and see if the swelling goes down. I got back in 2 weeks for a checkup. If it's not better I will go back in sooner. What I don't understand is I'm not eating much, but not losing weight. Hopefully, I can get this under control soon. Thanks for the input.

    Vomiting every day...

Thanks for the input! I will call the surgeons office and see what they suggest.
  11. I've lost 31 lbs so far and some of my clothes are starting to get too big. My daughter said it took her losing 50 lbs before dropping a size, then every 10 lbs she dropped a pant size
  12. I rediscovered salads last week and really enjoyed it because that the first meal in a long time I didn't have a problem with. Since my 3rd fill, I have a difficult time eating without getting stuck. So, I was really happy when I decided on a salad the other day for lunch

    Slow losers lol

I am in the slow losers club too, but that's okay. I would like to see more weight loss, but I understand this is a lifestyle change. At least the lbs are going down instead of up:) I have had 3 fills and since my last fill on 5/18, I have not been able to eat much. I am very tight in the morning and can't eat until at least noon. I seem to have pushed out my eating schedule. I know eating later in the evening is not good. I guess it's all part of the adjustments I am making in my life.

    Not Loosing and FRUSTERATED!!!

I think sometimes you just hit a wall and stop losing. Keep doing what you're doing, it will come off. Mine has been slow and I had a point for a month I didn't lose anything. I have had 3 fills now and getting restriction. But, I still am not losing at the rate I want (2 lbs / wk). But, I am still losing so I'm trying to stay positive. Just remember... we are not gaining!!! Hang in there!

checking in 4 months post op

I am 4 mos post-op as well and have only lost 30 lbs. Everyone is different. I have my 3rd fill on 5/10. Hoping this will kick-start the weight loss a little more.
  17. For those of you who have family members or co-workers who constantly ask how much you've lost, I simply tell them "I don't know. I have put my scales away and am only getting weighed at the doctors office monthly." Most people are satisfied with that answer and don't ask me all the time.
  18. My doc says 24 hrs after fill, clear liquids only. Then on to protien shakes for 2 days. Then mushies.. and so on. He was okay if I wanted to stay on protien shakes up to 5 days. This is just to make sure the swelling has gone down.

    Help...i have an obsession

I am obsessed with the scales too! Last month I weight myself everyday and was up and down 2-3 lbs. When I went to my doc for my 2nd fill, I was exactly the same for 1 full month! I decided then that I would put my scales away and only get weighed at the doctors office monthly. Since then I actually feel lighter and my clothes are getting looser. Granted, it helped getting a fill because I can tell I'm not eating as much, but I am not stressing everytime I get on the scales. I suggest putting your scales in a box and taping it up so it is not easy to get to! GOOD LUCK!
  22. Great story! I can't wait for the day it happens to me!
