I can eat pizza if the crust is very thin. On the steak, my doc said a moist cut, like rib-eye would be okay sometimes. I've had a few bites of steak, but wouldn't consider ordering one if we went out.

can you feel your port?
LapBandBobbi replied to tle5000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is in the same place and I can feel it. It doesn't stick out (at least not yet), but if I lean into a counter top, I can usually feel it. -
COMPULSION to eat?
LapBandBobbi replied to sparky1582's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Believe it or not, after you reach a certain restriction, that compulsion goes away. My mind tells me I want to eat, but if I try I don't enjoy it. I also have a problem when ordering out at a restuarant. I can usually only eat 3-4 bites and then have to take the rest home. Needless to say, we always have left overs in the fridge. -
What to do about clothes...
LapBandBobbi replied to Twinkles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's a great problem to have uh? I actually had to go home and change my pants at lunch yesterday because they were so uncomfortably big! I think I will look at Craigslist as well. -
Hit the big 5-0 today
LapBandBobbi replied to MrMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! It's great to hit those milestones! -
Sometimes friendships just tend to fade as people get busier in their own lives. Maybe it's not the weight loss surgery. Take a good look at what's been going on in their lives and try to put yourself in their position. Other than that, take the initiative and make some plans to do something with them. Good Luck!

I had to go home at lunch today and change my pants! They were way too big and I felt very uncomfortable in them - even with a belt on. -
New Biggest Loser 9/21 - Lapband Failure Contestant
LapBandBobbi replied to vikki99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love watching the Biggest Loser. It will be interesting to see how they portray the lapband surgery. One season they had a guy on there who had gastric bypass and they didn't dwell on it too much. -
Losing more than just my weight...
LapBandBobbi replied to rcain03@hotmail.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like there were issues there before you started losing the weight. Maybe he needs some counseling. Good luck. -

Everyone loses at a different rate. The important thing is you are losing. Just think if you hadn't been banded, you may be up 20 lbs or so. My doctor is very happy with 1-2 lbs loss per week. I have accepted my slow weight loss and consider this a lifestyle change. I know the weight is coming off and I try not to stress about the timing. Good luck and try to remain positive.

I was banded on a Thursday and went back to work on Monday. I also have a desk job, and it was pretty easy. Good luck! -
I am interested to know how everyone is doing. My husband has agreed to start with me on 9/12. I'm looking forward to it now that I have dropped some lbs.

When do you see weight loss?
LapBandBobbi replied to jamelyn1979's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, I am just starting to see the progress. I have recently been told by others that they can see the difference. Today, I was able to go way back in my closet and pull out a smaller pair of jeans!!!!! That was nice! -
No Results, No Success
LapBandBobbi replied to Ravyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
$350 for a fill it a lot of money! My daughter is self-pay and she pays $150 for a fill. I am lucky because my insurance is covering mine. Again, we live in Indiana, not California - but I would do some shopping around after your 6th fill. Good luck with your progress. You will get restriction soon and will be happy with your decision to be banded. -
Band seems tight about 3 weeks after fill
LapBandBobbi replied to bibu1961's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My band also feels tighter after 2-3 weeks of getting a fill. I don't get it, it seems like we should see a little relief. -

Eating is not as enjoyable as it used to be!
LapBandBobbi posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had four fills since being banded and since this last one, I really have restriction now. I can only eat 4-6 oz at a time. Now, eating is more of a chore and not as enjoyable as it used to be. I know we shouldn't emphasize how happy eating used to be, but it definately messes with my mindset now. Does anyone else feel that way? -

How Much Saline @ First Fill?
LapBandBobbi replied to 2beskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc starts with 1cc per month. I have a 10cc band and it is about a 1/3 full. I have very good restriction. It amazes me to hear about people who have 7-8cc in a 10cc band. Good Luck! -
Alcohol one month after surgery? Is it okay?
LapBandBobbi replied to Cakb10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drank a little a month or so after surgery and it wasn't a problem. I only had a couple and drank vodka and cranberry. For me, it hasn't been a problem. Stay away from beer because of the carbonation.
