first fill on the 14th...
LapBandBobbi replied to lovemysgt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Drink lots of water and try to focus on anything but food. Keep yourself busy. That's what helped me. -

LapBandBobbi replied to lovemysgt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Western Indiana - Director of Sales for a manufacturing company. -
Get up and walk around as much as possible. The pain is minimal and will go away. Enjoy the new life style changes! Congratulations on your decision.

Push toward Onederland
LapBandBobbi replied to Bree99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought I would celebrate being in onederland more than I actually did. It was great to reach that magic number on the scale, but I found dropping 2 sizes in my jeans much more rewarding. It's funny how the number on the scale doesn't necessarily correlate to the size of your body. Hang in there and enjoy the non-scale values as well! -
New Biggest Loser 9/21 - Lapband Failure Contestant
LapBandBobbi replied to vikki99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think some of the men on the show need to wear "man bra's" LOL -
Don't get too frustrated, each person is different. My weight loss was very slow in the beginning, but now that I finally have good restriction, it's starting to kick in. I'm almost 10 mos post-op. Good Luck!

New Biggest Loser 9/21 - Lapband Failure Contestant
LapBandBobbi replied to vikki99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately our young lady got voted out last night. It was sad that she did not have the support system at home to help her. She looks like she is doing very well on her own (and help from Danny from last season). I hope she continues to do well. -
Very very tight in the morning
LapBandBobbi replied to jen36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am the same way. I can sometimes drink a protien shake around 10am, but normally can't eat until sometime after noon. My doctor says this is very typical once you reach good restriction. My daughter also had Lap-Band 3 years ago, and she is the same way. -
3 fills in 1 month - anyone else???
LapBandBobbi replied to CSinTX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would also question the number of cc's he says he's putting in. He may be doing gradual cc's such as .2 or .3 rather than a full cc. My doctor will only fill 4-6 weeks, this gives you time for the swelling to go down and be able to get on solids withing throwing up. Good Luck! -
I went thru a couple of months where I didn't lose any weight, then when I finally got good restriction the weight started coming off. Hang in there.

Is salad a slider food for you?
LapBandBobbi replied to 2beskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love salads since I've been banded. Before the band, I didn't really like salads much. I preferred the "meat and potatoes". For me, it's a lifestyle change I enjoy. I don't really consider salad a slider food. -
NSV - My closets are almost empty
LapBandBobbi posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I recently decided if I tried something on and it was too big, I would put it in a bag and not back in the closet. As I was getting ready for work this morning, I realized I had very little to choose from. Guess, I'm going to have to do a little shopping. :smile2: Seems like I've always been obsessed with that number on the scale (which moves very slowly downward), but now I beginning to see physical changes as well. I love my band! -
NSV - My closets are almost empty
LapBandBobbi replied to LapBandBobbi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also a yo-yo dieter and had multiple sizes in my closet. It's great to know we will never need those bigger sizes anymore. It also makes it much easier to pull them out of the closet for good! -
I feel very thankful to my medical insurance
LapBandBobbi replied to tle5000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with you on the whole insurance thing! I only had to pay about $350 out of pocket  -
Congratulations! What a great accompolishment!

What are the most likes Shakes!!
LapBandBobbi replied to purple3797's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought chocolate, strawberry and vanilla and mixed them up together. Some days I would have a choc/strawberry and sometimes strawberry/vanilla. It was nice to have the variety. Then, depending on the type of ice you use, the thickness consistency is different too. Don't be afraid to experiement. -
Hiccups have become a regular part of my life :smile2:

LapBandBobbi replied to vikki99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe it's time for you to move out on your own where you can control what kind of food is in the house. I know after my WLS, my daughter didn't like it because I didn't buy all the "junk food" she wanted. She did move out, but now I think she's losing weight because she doesn't have the money to buy the junk food that I had previously supplied. -
You got my vote. I'm also a dog lover!
-
I watched it too. I thought it was funny. I hope they don't make the whole show about being fat. They are the same writers as "Two and a Half Men", so they should be able to come up with a great series. I'll keep DVR'n it for now.

Congratulations! Love it when people post things like this. Keeps the rest of us motivated!

banded for 10 months
LapBandBobbi replied to btcabell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been banded 9 months and have lost 42 lbs too! Mine has been slow, but steady. It seems like recently I have been losing at a better rate. I definately have more restriction now. Good Luck everyone! -
stress=tightness?
LapBandBobbi replied to ruthpets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely! If I am really stressed, it seems like nothing will go down. Not sure why.
