I'm gonna keep on pushing myself. I know it's just a matter of time before the scale moves. I feel like when I'm in the gym, I'm giving 100%. I know I sweat more than I ever have - I guess that's good :frown: I do feel like I can tell a difference in my clothes. Also over the last couple of days, I've gotten comments on how much weight I'm losing.

Turned away for cheating
LapBandBobbi replied to lashonda23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stuck strictly to my pre-op diet and did not eat one crumb of food. I was so disappointed when I got to the surgery center the day of surgery to find out I only lost 6 lbs in 14 day! The doctor told me that it was okay because everyone loses differently and the only reason for the pre-op was to shrink the liver to make it easier on him to do the surgery. So, hang in there - you should be fine. -
calories are calories?
LapBandBobbi replied to kellyodoran's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have heard it is better to eat 5 small meals because it keeps your metabolism moving. Otherwise, your body might think it's starving and store calories. -
Christmas Challenge

I'm in! I'd like to lose 12 lbs by Christmas. I think that's achievable. -
Work brought in lunch....UGHHH
LapBandBobbi replied to anewlife10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't beat yourself up over it. That's part of everyday life. Just be sensible - like you were. -
OK - I have been going to they gym 3x/wk and working out at least 45 minutes of cardio and adding in some strength training with it and have not lost 1 pound! I don't get it. I am keeping my calories anywhere between 900 - 1200 / day. Any ideas?

Post-op hiccups normal?
LapBandBobbi replied to hopeful07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hiccup about 3 times after I eat. That's my sign not to eat anymore -
Social drinking and lap band
LapBandBobbi replied to SusieQ1104's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went on an all-inclusive trip to Mexico about 4 weeks after my surgery and drank alchol with no problem. I must admit, I drank more than I should have, but it didn't hurt me. I still lost about 5 lbs that month. -
How many of you drink muscle milk to help get your protein in for the day? I kind of like it.

Regret getting rid of smaller clother
LapBandBobbi replied to Sun Rae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Trish - I was banded by Dr McEwen as well. When we leave his office, we head over to the Carmel Goodwill. They have some very nice clothes there. Probably the best Goodwill I've been to. -
I sometimes stop at the gas station on the way to work and buy one out of their fridge. They have 25 grams of protein. They are a lot more expensive than buying the kind you mix, but it is easier. Since my band won't allow me to eat until about noon, I can drink the shake.

Confused and discouraged
LapBandBobbi replied to fredgood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately, I am a grazer too. I'm sure that's why my weight loss has been slow. I have not exercised up until 2 weeks ago. I am hoping that helps push the weight loss along. I think we have to make a committment to ourselves to quit eating between meals and stick to the healthy choices. Good luck to you! -
Shadst8 - Congratulations on your loss! Great pics - keep up the good work!

How many of you take Synthroid?
LapBandBobbi replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take my synthroid in the am because it's small enough to swallow. I can't take my vitamins until late afternoon because of their size (I don't like the chewable ones). So far, this has worked for me. -
Have any of you worked otu with Kettle bells? They have them at the gym, but I've never used them and don't have a personal trainer. I've looked on-line at different exercises to do with them and it looks like you get a really good workout. I'm thinking about adding them into the mix.

What will you do with you "fat" clothes
LapBandBobbi replied to wanna.b.healthy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm keeping 1 pair of jeans from each size I go down. It'll make a great picture - then they're history!!! -
WOW! That's fantastic! Thanks for the input!:sneaky:

Any cyclist out there?
LapBandBobbi replied to sparky1582's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought a Trek the first time and love it. It is a road bike and we would ride it on trails and on the country roads. My sister and I got to the point we were riding 10-20 miles/day. Love it! That was about 4 years ago, now I need to get back to it! Have fun and enjoy! -
Out of nowhere...

Don't you just love that feeling? I am so glad I am finally at the point where my band is helping me! Good Luck! -
