How often do you exercise
LapBandBobbi replied to ICUnurserachel's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have been exercising now for 4 weeks - 3x/week. I am finding that I really enjoy it (never thought I would) and I am pushing myself harder every time I go to the gym. The 1st mile on the elliptical now is much easier. I normally do 3 miles on the elliptical and some strength training. Loving it! -
Where is your port ?
LapBandBobbi replied to hotsexyrunnerchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is on the right side just below my ribs. I can feel it all of the time - especially if I lean up against a countertop. It doesn't bother me though. -
Gallbladder surgery after lap band
LapBandBobbi replied to GuinevereCA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My daughter had her gallbladder removed about a year after her lapband surgery with no problems. Maybe you should try to find a lapband surgeon on your insurance plan who can do it. I wouldn't go with the one who wants to open you up. Good luck! -
I am finally at my halfway point For me, this has been a slow process and I have been waiting patiently for the past 4 weeks to lose that one more pound that put me at the half way point. I'm looking forward to the rest of my journey! Just wanted to share.

At the halfway point!
LapBandBobbi replied to LapBandBobbi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep up the good work! I see you are from Indiana as well, maybe it's a mid-west thing about losing slow. But, like I said before, I'm okay with that. -
Tomorrow is the big one!

Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of being banded!!! -
Tight in the morning.
LapBandBobbi replied to Linda Fehlen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My band is always tighter in the mornings. I start with coffee in the morning and then around 9:30 or so I can have a bowl of oatmeal. I've actually gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore. Sometimes I just wait till lunch to eat. -

How often do you weigh yourself?
LapBandBobbi replied to WrenBird's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weight myself almost daily, but I don't record it until I have a "for sure" weight loss. I need to see the same number at least 2 days in a row before I believe it! -

surgery wed and chickening out!!
LapBandBobbi replied to marisas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stop and think about all the benefits from getting the band and why you wanted to do it in the first place. -
Help! Don't know what to do :(
LapBandBobbi replied to Princess_Gottalose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find if I don't drink enough, dehydration causes my band to be tighter. Make sure you're getting plenty of fluids. Good luck. -
Hypo-Thyroidism and Weight Loss....?
LapBandBobbi replied to Renee1003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have hypothyroidism as well. Sometimes I think that is the reason for my slower weight loss. On my 2 week pre-op liquid diet I only lost 6 lbs. I am very happy with my progress so far, but it seems like I'm slower than a lot of folks. I have recently added exercise - 3x/wk and am hoping that kicks up my weight loss. So far tho, I've been exercising for 4 weeks and have not lost anything. I've been keeping my calories between 1,000 - 1,200 / day. -
This thing really works!

BCBS-AZ Anyone? How long to approve?
LapBandBobbi replied to happygirl65's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had BCBS (not Az) and they came back within 2 days! I was super excited and scheduled my surgery as quickly as possible. Good luck! It's been the best decision ever for my weight loss. -
OK - I have been working out for 4 weeks now, doing cardio 30-60 minutes 3x / week and some strength training but still have not lost a single pound! I have been tracking my food and exercise on myfitnesspal.com and keeping between 1,000 - 1,200 calories / day. According to that program I should be losing 2 lbs a week. Really? I don't understand this, but I'm not giving up.

explaining I cant eat the way i used too..
LapBandBobbi replied to qwiksilva1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We tend to collect a lot of doggie bags in our fridge now. :rolleyes2: I can sometimes make 2 or 3 meals out of one. Or, my hubby gets a lot of leftovers. Anyway, I just try to accomodate him and order what works for me. -
Problems Eating Certain Foods
LapBandBobbi replied to LauraBAP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No scrambled eggs for me either. I was able to eat them until about my 3rd fill. I'm glad to read on here I'm not the only one who can't eat them. However, hard boiled eggs are not a problem. -
I HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!! (Onederland!)

Advice: Need to tell my boyfriend about the Band...
LapBandBobbi replied to PrincipalsOffice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would tell him. At some point he's going to ask about the scars. Also, you don't want to go into a potential marriage with secrets. Better to get it out in the open now. -
Thanks for the advise. I'm going to just keep going and hope eventually things work out. I agree - muscle looks better than fat!

Can someone help clue me in on this body bugg? I went to the website but couldn't really see much because I don't have an account. How much is it and how much is the monthly fee?
