well, let's see... my story starts about 15 years ago, just before retiring from the navy. I always had to work to keep my weight down, and when I retired from the navy, I obviously stopped working at it. Now, 15 years later, I've gained 150 pounds, have all the pills to take as a result of it, and nothing, absolutely nothing, seems to work for losing weight. I've lost and regained 20 pounds more times than I can even count any more. I can't stand what I did to myself, I'm beyond frustrated that I can't do anything about it, and I had very mixed feelings about lapband, as have many others, it seems. Why can't I lose the weight myself? what if this doesn't work? Am I putting too much hope in this device? What have I done to myself to reach this point?you get the idea. So, at this point, I'm going through the process..had the psych eval, my family doctor is documenting medically supervised weight loss attempt, etc.... At this point (1/25/2010) I am MORE than ready for this surgery. sick and tired of being sick and tired. I'll keep you posted.
