  1. Happy 44th Birthday shellray06!

  2. :w00t: that was such a funny story and thanks so much for sharing. I laughed right out loud. Sorry you had such a bad experience but that is how we learn.....

    a little DiScourAgeD

thanks so much for all the encouragement. It is hard not to get down sometimes, but I try to remember that I didnt gain all this weight overnight and I am no going to lose it overnight either. I try not to compare myself to others but I work with 2 people that had gastric bypass ( i was too scared of this for myself ) and you could see the weight literally falling off them. I am trying to remember that I chose this kind of surgery knowing it was not as fast as the bypass. I love this website and it helps soooo much reading everyones encouraging words and thoughts. It is hard to get support at home when everyone in my house can eat whatever and never gain weight..... Thanks again for the emotional support. I think we need that as much as anything........Hugs to all....Shell:tt1:
  4. I had my 6 week check up and first fill today. I am only down 15 pounds so far. I have read so many posts on here where people have lost 30 pounds and more the first 6 weeks. I feel like such a loser. I did not have any restriction after the first couple weeks and am seriously wondering if this is gonna work for me. Sorry to sound like a whiny baby, this just seems to have been a lot of work to get to even have the surgery then to only lose 15 lousy pounds.....uggggggggggggg:angry::smile2:
  5. I was banded a little over 4 weeks ago. I am down about 16 pounds and now I feel that I have no restriction at all. I get my first fill in 2 weeks. Does that usually provide some restriction? I lost 10 pounds the first 2 weeks and my weight loss has really slowed since then. I guess I am a little nervous now that I can eat and eat quite a bit. I think I could eat as much as I wanted if I did not stop myself. Is this normal?:confused::confused:

    How long off work?

I had surgery on Monday and went back the following Monday. Like others have said, I was really tired by the end of the day and wished I had taken a few more days off. At that point I was still on liquids, so I felt weak and dizzy. In my opinion that is going back a little quick but we all are different. Good luck to you what ever you choose to do.....

    Powerade Zero

That is just what I hoped to hear. WHO HOOOOO Finally something I like that I can have. Thanks so much!
  8. I was banded on January 18th. I was a Diet Mt. dew junkie and am missing my Dew badly. I am trying to behave but cannot stand plain Water and Crystal Lite is not my favorite either. I have discovered Powerade zero. It has no calories and I can drink 2-3 a day. Is this as good as drinking water (or close)? It tastes so good. Any thoughts?
